meh it's a dragon, it's just that you can't see the wings because they're out of the picture. The guy's basically just striking a wicked pose before he goes in and kicks the patoot out of the dragon.

the paint bucket, then a bit of the brush tool set at one pixel to fill in the details. I use the brush set on either black or white and the smudge tool to get the shading.
