Ross, you sort of faded into obscurity...Like the mad old wizard is fantasy games, he could own everyone but instead spends his time thinking up even more ingenius ways to own everyone.

How is that so? Duna only doubled speed, and it was 50 light years per day normally... That makes it even easier for Dusty, since he now has, at least 40,000,000 per year, which means he could cover the whole 1,000 light years within a single year....The only thing stopping him now is the speed of his ships. Think of it this way. If I start doing something no one can ever stop me, I am unbeatable. For example: The SFW announces a new shield. It provides 100% protection, no matter what is thrown at it, for 1 second, for every second it has been active. Its not overpowered because there is a way to beat it, if we turn off the power. Which is basically your justification there...

No. Yup....Until Dusty researches a Duna tracker...or just builds a bazzilion ships and sends them all out on different vectors, creating a sphere of death-err-Dusty, even. He would need more mass in ships, than all the planets under his control to build enough ships to find someone with a 1000 ly lead. Even if he did have Duna tracker, he couldn't catch up. Yup, I agree, these Duna Thrusters are, in no way, over powered  Anywho, according to his own figures he would have be able to build 10,000 times as many ships as you could...If I remember correctly that places him at about 4000 battleships per year. There are 281,189,573,305,064,642,650,465,026 kilometers to search. Assuming a sensor radius of about one and a half a light year, and travelling 50 Light years per year... So cover 75 Light years, per year(709,554,785,443,560 kilometers) It would take 396,290,151,336 years for 1 ship to do it. With 4000 ships you could cover 2,838,219,141,774,240,000 kilometers. (.00004%) With 8000 ships you could cover 5,676,438,283,548,480,000 kilometers, plus the 4000 you had already covered (.00016%) And so on and so forth for 41 years, until you have covered 63% of the 1000 lightyears. The next year you have covered 180% of it. Thats assuming that Dusty doesn't beef up his production levels... Or indeed take over any of the production facilities left behind by other people... He could also use Duna Thrusters, doubling his search area, and probably Duna Sensors, increasing it even more... And, of course, that he didn't find you straight away, as these calculations are the longest you could stay hidden. Even if you went further than 1000 light years, he would, eventually, out produce the speed at which you could flee.

Hence why you are not allowed to do your own calculations... Anyway. 1.75 trillion is 70% of your budget, so your infrastructure would increase to 2.4 (From 1 by 1.4) Thus your IAG would increase to 2,572,214,272,000 (from 2,511,928,000,000, increasey 2.4%) So a difference of 61 Billion.
-
Hegemony
Yeah, it doesn't make a massive amount of difference. 2% of 2 trillion is 60 billion...
-
Hegemony
Well it won't be more than 60 billion higher than as on the front page, so just factor that approximately. Assuming that you are celebrating Norwegian Constitution Day... We don't have a Constitution Day...We have Empire Day  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwegian_Constitution_Day

No he didn't, I was still just as strong as him. You just decided to end it. You were just as strong, at the time. However, it would likely take around 50 years until I found your last little system, and by that time it would've been like a mouse vs optimus prime. I had like a billion times your population, around 10,000x the production capacity, and we were really only on par in strength because I had lost a lot of ships and troops taking over Malaysia and the last little vestiges of resistance. Well, there was no real way you could possibly have 10,000x the production capacity without cheating, based on the game mechanic we had. Or even 10x, since I had a larger one than you at the time and was putting more of my resources into increasing the number or production stations. In the end, I could have always just piled my entire population into city-ships and gone away at twice the max speed of most of your ships (due to being improved by Duna, and since your strategy was to build a ton of little ships, instead of a smaller # of big ones, only a tiny tiny percentage could be equipped with Duna thrusters. Hence why I ended the game... The production system was screwed. Course it was highlighted...then everyone decided that the system was fine, it was just Archi being upstart about it. [/i Told You So] Anyway, the issue with the strategy, Doom, is that retreating into the great unknown would eventually cause you to run out of fuel...and unless you wanted to Munchkin a Duna planet out of thin air...Dusty would have been able to outfit his fleet with Duna Thrusters, eventually, and then catch you, eventually, eventually. Just so people know, there is going to be a much stricter...and a hell of alot leaner....spaceship mechanic...

Cause Ross kicked me out <_< (jk) Nah, Ross basically took over because I couldn't do it full time and I didn't like spliting the workload(You would come back the next day and everything would be different, and things you set up were ignored or turned out differently.) Now the game has moved on far too much for me to takeover again...at least not without reading a few hundred pages

Erm, I don't see how it would be possible to have ships 'hidden' in the heart of my empire. And the daedalus cannons only worked because Arch decided that my dirithanium plating (which was there to counter exactly what daedalus cannons did), didn't exist. More likely no one told me.....Or rather, told me afterwards...or had a nice generic 'It counters everything' Anywho, Grim's Stealth Strategy probably involved the sterlisation of Midgard so no one noticed, followed by the ships landing on the Capitol building and ordering takeout.

It's always like that, we are the driving force of the forum, compared to our sup-forum(?) we are freaking NO2. EDIT: We are a bit spread out now, though we have ten out of twenty spots there! The top three are (in order), Archimage_A, TheMather1, Lady_Ninane. Tsk Tsk. Back when I was running Dungeoneering we reguarly had 50% of the overal posts per day! Forget NO2...we were OsO4 4 times concentrated!

A tradition more honoured in the breach, than in the observance. Depends on how busy I am, usually I just do some quick maths, play soliders on a paper sheet and roll a few die...Since the SoS takes a while to set up.

Your number times by 90,000 I meant casualties. Through a mildly complicated system of playing a battle of Sword of Stars with relative sized forces.... At the end of the decade. Ok, in the first post it said you would only get half. Yes...under the annex section....Not the conquer section...

How many troops were left? Just wondering because I said they would continue to invade those two smaller countries if more than 75k soldiers were left in case you missed it. Nah, it was less than 75,000. I think it was around 55K, but I can't remember now. If you ask me, Hegemony was alot like Star Trek... Dusty was like DS9...everyone hates it, but you have a respect for it. Ross was like the original series...ever week it was something else uber amazing in the laser department Sere was like Enterprise....Alot of potentially, but never went anywhere Mather was like Voyager...Just kept going...and going...and going....Then finished. Doom was like The Next Generation...There, always there and no one ever really posed a threat to it...
