So let me get this straight. The reason this event is not happening is because Alex (Resket) created this thread to provoke a TIP.IT vs RSC graphics war and because it was Alex who started this, the event cannot take place? I don't really understand, yes Alex is competing for RSC in the battle since he is a member there and active but that shouldn't count for anything. This event can be done without the approval of the tip.it staff or the RSC staff but it wouldn't be tip.it vs RSC. It'd just be some people who frequent RSC battling tip.it regulars. If this was allowed, the only thing this board and RSC would be used for would be for advertising and recruitment and notification. Nothing more. The actual battling is all on a seperate forum. I don't see how Alex being a past banned tip.it member justifies banning advertisement/recruitment/notification topics for a graphics battle between members of one board and another.

Unfortunatly RSC policy is that you need 50 posts in order to post in our Graphics Discussion so if you're interested, you'll have to post in RS boards or computing to get 50 posts to get access to GFX Discussion.

We treat your board as if it was our own and anybody who spams your forum is punished on ours as if they spammed our forum. I'm disgusted by the paranoia shown by the tip.it staff. This is very disappointing news. I discussed this contest in the Runescape Community Moderator board and every single person who replied to the thread gave a positive reply, nobody could find anything wrong with the idea. The only bad thing that could come from this is that 1 or 2 [developmentally delayed]s who lose in the competition could go over to the rival forum and spam but that can easily be delt with by the moderators of the forum in a matter of minutes, plus it is probably a 1/1000 chance of happening since they would get banned on both forums. A reason would be very interesting.

Lol remember when tip.it was mad on Bryce landscapes in their sigs? Now it's pixels and they rack in ridiculous rs cash.

You still alive Sub? :lol: I am quite cocky when it comes to graphics but that's just how I am by nature :-P I may be able to paint and people say that I shouldn't bother with the 3d/2d abstract crap but I'm a sucker for pretty colours and patterns. The reason I went into GFX was because I was a noob like everybody else and enjoyed the pretty colours and shapes abstract art offered and I wanted to make some for myself. I was no more skilled than anybody else at the time when I started because all I did was use filters and then after a while made the 'Radial Blur' tutorial that sub mentioned. Then started to use the brush and realised that I had some skills with it. My uncles a professional Graphics Designer so I guess that's where I got my natural skills from.

To be honest, I only signed up at tip.it back in march 2003 or whatever because I heard that sigs sold for ridiculous money and I wanted in on the action. Saw that tip.it had a GFX group and then that turned into my sole reason for coming here. Then it died and I quit RS and that was the end of my coming here so that's why I've not been around. You guys definitely have the edge when it comes to traditional art but we have to remember that this is the internet and the majority of work is digital. I'm not saying that we are better than you or you are better than us, I think that digital art is where the real battle lies. We've got some good artists but unfortuantly we had better artists in the past . I don't see this as a competetive battle where people will put 'LOL TIP.IT OWNZ RSC' in their sigs or whatever if they win. I see this as a friendly event between 12-20 artists. Obviously there is going to be some desire to win because ultimately it is Zybez vs Tip.It, the age old fued but this should be more about art than about rival forums fighting to see who has the best artists. If one forum wins, it won't automatically make everybody who frequents that forum a better artist than everybody who is active on the other forum, this is a battle for personal pride.

But isn't this GFX battle style? GFX battles are usually restricting when it comes to styles, in a typical battle, pixel would not be allowed to go against 3d abstract or something because the average user would not be able to tell how well each style has been used.

Lol tttia you might aswell just be a team captain and pick 6-10 artists you think will win. I will probably be doing the same because somebody has to weed out the good artists from the lesser talented. Also, we have a pixeller, will our pixeller face your pixeller in a special battle? Pixel vs abstract is hardly judgable.

Me, trunkswrath, Sub.Divi, mirai, sHrEzZi, P U R E 069, Alex, from Runescape Community. Nobody from RuneVillage or the other RS forums that I know of come close. - tttia - Overall, RunescapeCommunitys GFX Discussion board is not as good as this board but I think that the best few people there are better than the best few here.
