Not necessarily. We get free sets of Dagon'hai and Elite Black from the quest, yet they're selling for millions and the price is rising daily. Also remember that you only get one lump from the quest. You have to get two more from killing the demons before you can make a dragon plate. I think the change in the drop rate will have a significant effect on the price of both the metal lumps and dragon plate. And, putting my money where my mouth is, I bought a set of dragon plate today. 4 posts in 3 years. Woot! :D
