Lets take a look at what we know so far about the unknown egg.
- This is the concept art for the one cockatrice that can't possibly be accounted for egg-wise.
- This is the 3D model for the cockatrice.
- This is the egg we haven't been able to find yet.The Vulture Egg is gotten from killing Vultures.
The Raven Egg is gotten from nests.
The Red, Blue, and Green Egg's are gotten from nests.
Since both the Vulture and Raven Egg's are gotten in entirely different ways, it's possible that the Penguin Egg is gotten a different way too.
- This is a penguin.We know when penguins in real life are hatching eggs, the male and female penguin take turns at the egg. So if it's realistic at all, it makes sense the penguin egg would be somewhere near the penguins.
We know that penguins don't lay eggs in trees.
We also know that killing penguins isn't getting us any eggs, at least not yet. So it stands to reason there must be another way to get penguin eggs.
Perhaps you need to use a spade in the snow in random places?
- This is the 3D Model for the bird that will most likely hatch from the egg. It doesn't quite look like a penguin though.Perhaps the egg isn't a penguin egg afterall?
EDIT: bored321 says the above bird is a Magpie. If this is the case, perhaps the other bird egg is gotten by catching Magpie Implings?

The Boss Terrorbirds drop Rune Kiteshields.. I assume the boss Terrorbirds have the same drops as the high leveled ones.

If I translated the Chaos Elemental correctly.. Red/Green/Blue birds eggs will all have a use after the "Eagles Peak" quest is released(today or tommorrow).
According to a readers letter, they were used by Yanille Mages/Warriors to scout out enemies when they were building Yanille... Surprise, surprise.. Yanille is the first place you go for hunting(Other than Nardah)!
Probably a hunting oriented pet. Most of us have seen the Falcon at work, could possibly be something like that. Or hopefully they'll actually fly next to us.

I'm not a report crazy player mod. And I try to help, but frankly I'm tired of helping. I don't feel like being a tool as I only report what I see when it comes by me. I don't go hunting for it so for that reason I'm not a tool. On the other hand I'm not really an average player that wants to "help." Helping people with reports or other issues I'm glad to do as those are simple, but explaining every aspect of the game is tiresome. So I just see my self as an average player that's just an average player. (The truth is sometimes I actually forget I'm a player mod because I usually only talk on private chat and only answer in public when I'm directed out exactly).

what you said pretty much covers it. im a payer mod as well, but i dont go out looking for trouble to deal with. i see myself as a normal player first, and a player mod second. i have the right to be a normal player and not help everyone that asks me the direction to varrock. i can use my discretion to help and report who i want.
and to those that want to be a pmod: the crown isnt all its cracked up to be. its often a source of more problems than solutions. most veteran mods will tell you this (especially f2p mods).
I don't help anyone, to set an example that we don't have to help people. :P

New eggs being introduced for summoning

I've seen 3D models for all the birds that hatch out of the eggs.
So I'm guessing that the birds actually turn into cockatrice. Perhaps the birds normally follow you around, but you can use summoning to transform them into the battle-ready cockatrice?
Or perhaps you take your pet birds to the tower of life with some reptiles and fuse them together to form a cockatrice/the ability to summon it?
