  1. kewl i dont kar3

DA HOMIE G83 OWNS DAH SHEEVA L0L?!?!?!??

Ok, this man Died, at least show some level of respect for his memory.

As for the removal of his account, the credit card theory seems the most plausible to me.

I doubt Jagex would personally delete accounts just because their owners died. Shiva was well known amongst us, but in the mass of like 5 million accounts i doubt Jagex knew him well enough to personally do that.

  2. Even though i didnt know him, I still feel that I would come, mainly because he seemed helpful on the forums, and seemed pretty cool at the two or three TET events i had been to where I had seen him.

Perhaps we can keep this ceremony at the church behind the Port Sarim food store?

I personally feel it looks better after the update; more...holy.

The monastary might not work for people who dont have the prayer requirement, and people at lumbridge would probably come in and crack jokes, highly unfitting for a memorial service.

There's even a small cemetary there to use for the services.

  3. i think there is already a staff in the tzarr weapon shop....although it might be a battle stave instead.....confused..... :?: :?: :?:

He's talking about that one, and how its almost never used because its pretty pointless. He wants to update that staff with two or so exclusive spells that the tzarr(sp?) monsters use that would actually bring it into play.

  4. I hope my zamorak armour doesn't drop anytime soon! However, I doubt the new rewards are going to be f2p so hopefully god armour will sustain.

If i were you, I would sell my zamorak before like monday, for the full price you paid at least. Hold on to that cash, and wait it out a bit, seeing how the new items have affected the price of god armors. That way, if they become cheaper, you dont lose money.

  5. Ok, so a whip and obby cape, which have nothing to do with treasure trails, will lower in price because of more items coming out for treasure trails? How'd you work that one out?

I'm sure the prices on those will remain the same since this update does NOTHING to change the number of whips and obby capes that are coming into the market, nor does it introduce weapons that will outperform the whip or a cape to outperform the obby cape.

The only thing that could possibly reduce the price of the whip right now is the new dragon weapon, but judging from the weapons left, and the most likely predicted stats, etc, its probably not gonna dent the price too much.

I do however, agree that God and trimmed armors, along with other current trail items, will lower in price. I do predict a great influx in the number of players doing treasure trails, and thus more of these sets(along with the new items) will enter the market. My guess is around a 5% drop in prices; note that it is not an educated guess, just what I feel the drop in prices will be.

Also, this update, along with the dragon weapons update, will increase the number of players in the wild, and consequently, the number of PKers. Just bewarned that you maybe face more enemies than usual in the wild.

  6. yeah, and if you feel like making money, go to an economic-simulation game or smthing.

Runescape is not supposed to be about making money. Its supposed to be RPG!

I dont know why people insist in maing so mch money in this game. Lets suppose you have 1 billion g! SO what? Whats the point of it? You wont be able to buy a lot of stuff because you wasted so much time making money that you didnt raise your skills enough.

they focus on the money making aspect of role-playing games...they role play as the merchants, entrepenuers, etc.

There is no set "purpose" so to speak in Runescape. Its a very open game, you can do what you want: you can kill monsters, make items, do quests, wander around for no reason, go pking, or train skills. Likewise, you can make money. If you have 1 billion g, then your training and other aspects of the game become much easier. There are many skills you can simply "buy" levels for (mage by buying runes, smith by buying bars/ores, crafting buy buying raw materials, prayer by buying bones, rune crafting indirectly by buying esses, and fletching buy buying necessary materials. Also, without money, how do you suppose all those high level armors, which can run in surpluses of over 11 mil, are bought?

All in all, money making is a significant portion of runescape.

  7. i thought a rapier was a bad man that should be put in jail for a long time

A rapist is someone who commits the crime of rape.

A rapier is a long, thin sword, used mainly for dueling, particularily stab attacks, although it could be used to slash, just not as effectively as other blades due to its slender blade.

In addition to being used for fencing, during the age of the Conquistadores, it was oft used by noblemen/gentlemen as a symbol of power and to show that they were on the "higher path"; it was considered a very graceful weapon, and served to be a part of upperclass fashion.

It was usually made of steel as it required its streghth to effectively stab with out bending too much, but if the steel had to much carbon, the blade would become brittle. Thus, the swordsmith had to maintain a balance of carbon in the steel so that the blade was strong, yet supple enough to bend slightly and spring back to its original shape.

  8. Im personally hoping for some more decorative clothing: jackets, new pants, stuff like that.

Also, I would like to see stuff like glasses, monocles, and (though it may sound stupid), spinning plates with different colors and designs.

Realistically though, its prolly gonna be stuff like gold colored holy/unholy symbols as seen on some npc's. Stuff that looks different but offers no difference in bonuses.

or perhaps even a monk's hood as seen in port sarim near on the monks near the ship to Entrana.

  9.

i also tend to think that it will be a warhammer.... or perhaps calws

another intriguing diea is that of having dragon ammunition... we have throwing axes/knives/darts/arrows up to rune? why not dragon???

Not to shoot down your idea... but a dragon weapon you virtually have to risk heavily for and it ultimately disapears?

Dragon Boomerang: Keeps coming back at you, but it requires an expensive upkeep cost every so often (im thinkin kinda like the crystal bow).

As for what i think the drop will actually be, I personally feel that it will drop a d2h, as there are many players who have been asking for a long time. Also, the dragon pickaxe will probably be dropped in a non-wilderness area like the dragon axe to avoid complaints by miners that Jagex is showing peference to woodcutters.

  10. If you wanna get that technical about capes, then no cape should contribute to defense when you are attacked fromt he front, gloves should not protect attacks to anything besides the hands, boots to anything besides the legs, etc.

The only valid point I think I saw in this thread was the one saying it would be too easy to use barrows vs. dragons.

  11. (N) Portal - This will be found in lumbridge. You go in it, and option will come up with a couple of city's click on the city to go to, and it will teleport you. Cost 100gp.

(YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY) New Trade/compete option - This will be another option added to the On/Off. It will have a "Stop All" When you trade somebody you can only hear him talking! All other chat will be stopped. (This is for you can read what hes saying!)

    (N) Drop "X" - This will be for you can drop ores/fish ect. All you do is one click and type in how much you want to drop. (Powermining/PowerFishing)

    (Y) Tutorial Island Yes/No - This will give you the option on rather you want to do the tutorial island or skip it.

  12. I tele from falador to varrock to meet a friend, a guy comes up to the center yelling "Selling Zezima's Burnt Fish/Lobster/Something like that".

The worse part is, people believed him. He almost sold one for 200K to someone before I stopped the player buying it, telling him that a burnt fish is worthless and pointless, regardless of who burns it. Naturally the scammer wasn't too happy.

  13. well, for one thing, they can't have their own protect prayer on if this was to be used. Also, make the prayer requirements like in the 90's, along with a difficult quest. Also, the prayer might serve to be weaker than normal; that is, perhaps it only prevents damange in non wildy areas 50% of the time, and in the wildy it reduces damange by maybe 30% rather than 50% (i think it reduces damage in wildy, not too sure tho. I do know the effect is different in PvP).

  14. Some people at my school are obsessed with Maplestory.

Cheeky little Korean with only one skill (BEATING THE * OUT OF CUTE LITTLE ANIME CREATURES)

Seems like a simpleminded game. Highly time consuming as well. It's a button-masher, only cuter.

I play Maple Story and Runescape, and each has its own appeals. Maple story I like because of 2-D graphics and the sidescroller aspect (im a fan or 2-D sidescrollers), and I feel that the combat is pretty involved, something I prefer over the right click, attack, wait as you automatically kill each monster combat of RS (not saying its not intense in RS, as you have to monitor your health and whatnot, but I still wanna time my own swings and stuff). Also, I really like the way jobs are spilt up, so that you are forced to live with your choices making each one more important. Also, I like the hotkeys you can assign; makes stuff like using potions and whatnot very easy. Not to mention that its f2p (except for Cash Shop items which don't give a real advantage but look great). Not to mention the fact that they have a built in system to transfer items between the three characters an account can have.

However, I dislike the fact that there are not player versus player areas, and that there are no "non-combat" skills.

In RS, I love the fact that you can go PvP, have skills like mining and whatnot to make your own goods, and that its browser based and not full screen...makes it easier to switch back and forth between programs and whatnot. Also, it has a nice...charm...My character feels more like me since there are more ways to customize the actual character I play.

Also, i have the freedom to make more than three characters, but sadly I cannot have them interact with one another (its a shame, since I have a hard time training newbie mages and rangers using the 25 gp and paltry runes/arrows I have to start with). Additionally, I enjoy the rune system of magic over the typical MP system...its very unique and easy to use!

Also, I am really glad that the quests are more involved than just collecting X number of this drop or getting this letter to Y NPC...although I just started and the quests MAY get more involved in Maple Story.

And while I do not blame or disagree with Jagex at all, it is a disadvantage of RS that the f2p version is limited. Still, the full version is pretty cheap, but still a distinction to note.

Overall, I'd recommend both games. Both are fun in their own right :)

  15. all the holiday rares, trimmed and god armors, and full rune are pretty much the most expensive items on f2p. Most expesive weapon is r2h, followed by rune bax. All the staffs go for around the shop price of 1500 gp, laws are 350 in bulk, 700-1k individually. Green draghide is around 12K-15k, can go up to 20k. Thats about it. Not many uncommon or rare things on f2p.

  16. Ok in members you get 6 extra skills, along with alot of other goodies and extentions which we can ignore for a minute. That means that each skill per month costs a little less than a dollar...so why not make it so that you can "Pay Per Skill"? That is, you pay a dollar or so each month to get a specific skill.

It would be limited to farming, fletching, and theivery, as the other three require the use of member territory to train, or even to start for that matter.

If you pay for farming, you get a basic level rake and whatnot, plus a few basic seeds (you can't get the higher leveled ones, and can only grow free world food).

As for fletching, you can make only up to iron arrows (maybe steel, but thats pushing it), and maple bows (we still can't cut em, but since we can buy em in f2p, might as well include it). Yews and higher are strictly p2p, meaning you wont get profit off of the skill, unless you make only arrows.

For theivery, you are still restricted to f2p world, so things like chests and certain NPCs are still off limits, thus restricting the player. Also, you can only get f2p items, no members items.

This not only lets people use skills they want at an afforable price, yet restricts the person to such a level that members is seen as the better alternative, and thus inciting them to join.

  17. Did they have pizza in the middle ages? nope.

    chocolate? nope.

    Im all for coffee, it sounds great. Heck, make it so the beans can be gained only through farming, and it may even increase the number of people who farm (or perhaps it may lower the number of people who make coffee... :?}

  18. A ninja never actually used a katana, at least not until he killed a samurai. Ninja were typically poor farmers who were assasins to help ends meet. Their own swords were inferior to the katana, which were expensive as they required the swordsmith to put great effort into folding the steel. So they used inferior swords until they managed to kill a samurai, and if they could, they would pillage his sword.

Also, ninjas didnt use stars for accurate long range attacks, but rather as a distraction/panic technique. The idea of the star was to attack someone, then bounce away out of sight. The attacked warrior would be confused about which direction he was attacked from, and thus he would panick, giving the ninja an advantage. When accurate long range attacks were needed, the ninja would use kuni (often as a last resort tho, as kuni were beneficial for things like scaleing walls), or more often poisoned blowdarts. Therefore, i think a "ninja" update should inclue an update to darts which allow one to use a cut reed or something similar to shoot darts more rapidly, or more accurately. Heck, darts may even increase in use.

If i remember correctly, the ninja used nunchuks too. Originally made of wood and horse hair for the link, it was made to pound rice into paste for rice cakes, and served as a cheap and easily concealable weapon. Not only were they powerful offensively, but a skilled user could also trap swords and the like between the two handles and disarm the opponent. However, unskilled users often hit themselves after losing control of the nunchuck. Therefore, it should have an agility requirement. Also, to incorporate the disarming, you could add special which "disarms" the users melee weapon the next time it is used for 5-10 seconds (not taken from inventory, its just disable for amoment, like member weapons in f2p.

In addition to weaponry, martial arts were important to ninja, and thus, I thnk an update to unarmed combat should occur. If you wear the ninja attire, you can engage in hand to hand combat stronger than normal unarmed combat. The strenght would depend on your agility level (more training = more prowess in martial arts), and if it seems like too cheap a way to fight, it could drain energy too, as well as agility points (i.e. for each "chop" you could remove say 2 to 5% energy, and maybe a few points in the numerator for agility, which disables shortcuts, makes you recover energy slower, etc.)

Also, if a ninja update was to occur, then they should partner it with a samurai update. Their armor was much bulkier than the samurai, but they also had superior weaponry since they were richer. Of course they would have a katana, and full armor. I know little of samuari, and thus am not much help in suggestions for their part of the update.

As for the quest to go along with this, perhaps it would involve being sent on a voyage to discover new lands by one of the kings, and end up in the eastern lands. There you end up in the middle of a conflict. At first, things seem to be great, the samurai warlord of the land seems to be a compassionate leader, and very hospitable to your crew, even providing a generous sum of local currency to you for purchases. He invites you and your crew into his base, perhaps during a cutscene , and then you decide to go explore the land. As you talk to the commoners, like farmers, you learn of the unrest of the people, and that the warlord may not be as caring a leader as he appears. As you learn more information, a revolt sparks between the warlord and his forces and the commoners, and a rebellion sparks. Here you have a choice. you can join the warlord's rank of samurai and help him suppress the rebellion by eliminating key rebel leaders in more direct combat (and thus require higher combat levels), or you could join the rebels, and take part in stealthy missions to take out key Samurai leaders and force the Warlord into submission, requiring a relatively high agility. If you should join the warlord, you trade in your armor for "samurai" armor of equal stats and value. For the rebellion side, you are provided with the ninja clothes, some ninja equipment, and a weak sword. Remember, after you kill a samurai you can pillage for their katana and replace your flimsy sword with that one. The reward you get depends on which side you join. You get a high combat bonus for the samurai side, or medium combat and agility for the rebellion side. Also, you get the attire of the side you choose, and the ability to raid the opposition's base to aquire their armor. For instance, if you chose to be a rebel, you get to keep your ninja gear, and get the ability to pillage samurai gear from the warlord's base.

In addition to the melee updates, range updates like blowdarts or shurikens (if you really wanted) for the ninja, or a new type of bow made from bamboo for the samurai side could be added. Also, I like the idea of magic scrolls used to teach magic spells. However, maybe they can make it where you equip the scroll and use the proper runes to cast the spell (like god spells).

In addition to the quest, you are exposed to new quisine and fish (squid perhaps? as a high level fish, perhaps above shark, but doesnt require trawler). Also, new silk clothes can be brought from a market area in the new land, purely for decoratice purposes.

Perhaps to add a bit of challenge to these quests, you cannot teleport away from the new land until you finish the quest (or at least part of it). After the quest, you can learn a teleport spell by doing a extra side mission (much like the kind needed for ghostly robes). Also, since it is a new land, there would be no bank available for a while, BUT your ship has a supply stock with some weapons, bows, armor, and runes and staffs. When you die before completing the quest, you respawn at the ship. You can alter the stock of the ship by spending some of your own money to buy better equipment, add stuff like potions, and better staves. If for some reason you do use up the ship's weaponry, you can always kill local wildlife and stuff, or mine local ores, and sell for cash.

  19. also, f2p rangers should have no problem getting arrows. The Rimmington shop has ample supplies of steel, mith, and addy arrows. Take money, buy out the store, world hop as needed. Almost no one goes there, except for like one quest, and maybe to stop buy for last minute arrows for mezlars maze.
