First RS Review in a while: A Member's Betrayal

That same puzzle was used before Diamond & Pearl, in Gold & Silver, and then again briefly in Ruby & Sapphire. :shame: Although in Myths of the White Lands, you can move diagonally, which is a big functional change. Ahh, well, I forgot it happened in Gold, and i've not actually PLAYED Ruby/Sapphire, so...Meh X3 -

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you, Kietaro, the combat is far better, but theres one problem: that's 95% of the game, there's very little else. That's one of the main reasons WoW is such a major grindfest - Sure, RS has grind but a lot of different kinds of grind =P -
OkSo, yeah, not seen one of these for a little while, have we? I feel a bit bad for falling behind on these, but I have a reason. A reason a lot of you will probably want to lynch me for I got hooked back in by World of Warcraft. You see, most people will most likely know about this, but for the uninitiated, let me explain a new expansion, Wrath Of The Lich King, was released. This had so much opportunity to get me back in inescapably, it really did, and for a time, it looked like it did. But I played it for a while and I need to say thisapart from all the stuff with the siege vehicles etc you can get in certain areasThey didnt even attemptTHEY DIDNT EVEN ATTEMPT to try something new. I was the same old mage slinging the same old fireballs at new enemies with the same old predictable AI. One thing that did catch my eye was the AMAZING new city, DalaranTrust meThat place is everything Yanille wants to be It really is a true city of mages. Huge towers, massive magical influence, all sorts of strange magical goods, its awesome. THAT, I can give WoW credit for. Unfortunately, the game seems incapable of realising that you need to have some sort of incentive for playing, like entertainment. HoweverEven though I was essentially playing a game that could have rightfully been advertised saying Now, Play the game youve already played a hundred times before, only with new places and people I somehow got suckered in. And Ill admit, it was fun. For a while. But soon, it started to wear on me, and I found myself constantly levelling my trade skills to try and break up the tedium, but they could only keep me for so long. Eventually, though, a few days ago, I started with the questing again. In that day, I played it for about three hours And only became aware that I was playing it in the last few minutes. I had been rendered completely and utterly emotionless in real life. I realised that I had been sitting at my PC, with my eyes glazed over, pressing buttons and clicking the mouse, both aware and unaware of what I was doing. Maybe this is how one is SUPPOSED to feel while playing this, butNo. This is what someone is supposed to feel in a dead-end job which requires no thought, just input. Now, let me ask something. Isnt World Of Warcraft supposed to be, dare I say it in front of anyone who plays itA game? Yaknowsomething meant to entertain people? WellTo me, this was seeming like far, far, faaaaaar too much like a second freaking job. (WellNot that I HAVE a job at the moment but Graphic Design at college is pretty Saradomin-damned close...) So, on that very same day that I snapped (ie, came to my senses) I IMMEDIATELY looked for my phone to get RS topped back up. HonestlyI reallyreally dont know how long Blizzard are going to be able to keep this little project of theirs up. Yes, I said project, Im not referring to it as a game for the aforementioned reasonsLet me really, REALLY look at what has been properly implemented in WoW from this expansion. 1. New Class: Death Knights 2. New Profession: Inscription 3. Vehicles 4. Achievements All the other things are aesthetic at best. And DONT FREAKING START with the whole but-but-butting about new equipment and stuff. We both know that all equipment in this project is nothing more than a power-increaser and an individuality-decreaserWhereas, look at the equipment we get in RS: Up till level 40ish in Attack, Defence and Ranged, yes, it follows the same pattern World of Wowcrack does increased stats, nothing more. But when was the last time in WoW you saw a bolt of lightning descend from someones sword? The last time you saw them drive their blade into the ground to unleash hell on everyone around them? The last time you saw someone get instantly cremated from a single crossbow bolt? Yes, all of the weapons in WoW may have a lot of power behind them, but they, like the rest of the stuff in that game, lack diversity. Runescape lets us have that diversity with weapons that have special attacks and so on, giving us various tactical edges in battle. Ok. Going to stop talking about WoW in a sec but I want to say one last thingI genuinely think the project is in its twilight. I meanall the next expansion is going to be is like, another new class, another new trade skill and so on. In my opinion, I think that unless they really do something drastic with that game, its going to stagnate and implode. Because think about it. This game is quickly becoming more and more inaccessible to new players. The cheapest you can get World of Warcraft, The Burning Crusade, and the Wrath of the Lich King for these days is £55 total. THE CHEAPEST. Thats 11 months of RS membership right there and then! And theres the fact that membership to WoW is £8 a month, totalling £96 per year. RS is £60 a year, theres no obligation, and is easier to cancel if you need to take a break. Not to mention that installing the stupid thing is only slightly preferable to seven days of torture. First, you have to install WoW, which takes like 2 hours with 4 CDs, then Burning Crusade, which is another hour or so with 3 CDs, and finally Wrath of the Lich King which is on one DVD, thank god, and it takes 30 minutes. But the tortures just begun. You have to download every single patch to date. I actually had to leave my computer on overnight to do this, and i'd started at 8PM. And of course, every few months I have to download another patch, and it renders WoW unplayable until I do so, and this can take up to a DAY to get it to even work. Now, tell me, guysWhats preferable... A: A behemoth of a game that eats money and life, the installation of which deserves a medal once it's achieved... B: A Cheaper, pick-up-and-play game that despite lesser graphics, outdoes A in almost every respect? ...I hope you'll make the right decision. Alright. Alright. Enough talking about thatWhats been happening in Geilnor since Ive been gone then? Im going to quickly go over whats been going on. STEALING CREATION. Jagex, this is why we love you. This is the most enjoyable new minigame Ive seen in my recent time in any online game. Its utterly amazing. It combines Skilling and Combat in a brilliant way, even making lvl 3 skillers useful. I wont go into the full details, but basically you have to collect clay in various forms that require progressively higher levels in Mining, Hunter, Woodcutting and Fishing. This clay allows you to create new equipment, armour, weapons and items to help you collect more, and the team that has the most at the end is the winner. As I said, this is the most amazingly fun minigame Ive played in a longLONG time. Also, the fact you can literally steal off of other people is face-crackingly hilarious. I actually reduced an Ancienter to flaming me and Stealing Creation on the forums for stealing from him about four times. However. The rewards from it are nothing short of amazing Armour and items that double exp gain? Ooooh. Yes please. WHILE GUTHIX SLEEPS. The first Grandmaster quest. Without giving TOO much away, The highest ranked druids of Guthix, residents of Taverly, have been researching a devious treasure hunter known as Movario. His past links him to the evil mahjarrat and sorcerer Lucien, who has plans to re-enact Zamorak's plan to steal the staff of Armadyl and rise to godhood. Adventurers who sided with the knights of Armadyl in the past received a letter informing them that Movario helped him get it, and with staff in hand, Lucien is hoping to create an army of power, and rule Geilinor. The quest takes on a new epic twist, travelling across the land and creating our own small army of legendary warriors in the hopes of countering Lucien, or at least figuring out what he's going to do with his new super-powers. It's safe to say that some ancient and amazing powers must be in his sights, but it doesnt exist... does it? Yes that's right, its the stone of Jas, and after capturing a highly powerful Dagon'hai mage, posing as him and solving a cave full of magical puzzles, it has at long last been discovered, but Lucien followed us, stole the stone, and gave it to his superiors... Buuuuut, weve danced around the main issue long enough, so lets talk about the hot, spicy reward. Remember in my last one where I said something along the lines of maybe this forge will let us smith Dragon? I want you all to know THAT I FREAKING CALLED IT. Yes, This quest has finally given us access to the long-awaited Dragon Platemail Pity it kind of came a bit too late for anyone over the age of 14 to care. Seriously, its only got, what, a few def points higher than Bandos Armour. Whoops. FALADOR AND FREMNIK ACHIEVEMENT DIARIES. Okay, I gotta say, I LOVED these. Though, it has to be said, the Fremnik one was a little easy. However, the rewards were very good. Boots that allowed upgraded Lyres that could hold six enchantments instead of four, and could teleport you to Waterbirth Island instead. It also made getting rep for Miscelenia easier, and lets you get between the islands quicker too. It also opens a Deposit Box in Relekka, which is very appreciated for people killing Rockcrabs. Its not bad, and the defence bonuses are pretty decent too. NowThe Falador one is a different kettle of fish. I blitzed the easy ones, no problem, giving me access to a dinky little shield with a good prayer bonus, and the ability to restore a hefty chunk of prayer. HoweverThe medium tasks were a little less fair. MOST of them were doable, but one of them required me to do part of Ratcatchers. Which resulted in the death of my Kitten. I was not happy. So, I have to make my current one grow to a cat before I have a chance. Greeeeeeat. Though, that was NOTHING compared to the stupid mistake I madeI got my prayer trained all the way to level 70 to try and do the hard tasksAnd then I noticed I needed to kill a Skeletal Wyvern. And I have lvl 58 Slayer at this point. Rest assured, foul words were said. Slayer is my second-least favourite skill, second only to the abomination that is Agility. So the fact I would have to get another 12 levels before I could finish what I started did not do much to stop me from throwing my keyboard through the window. Maybe Im making too much of a big deal of this, but honestly, the hard reward is something to behold. White Lilly seeds. These, when planted in the middle of an allotment patch, protect ALL crops. Awesome. Pity I have to raise my cat and my Slayer to get themOh well. CHRISTMAS EVENT AND QUEST. Both of these were l33t. For the event, we had to hunt down Jack Frost using a special Frost Imp. Nothing too hard, but the reward we got has caused the biggest and most surprising price crash of a single Rare in a long time. For the quest, we got Santa Suits. SoGuess which rare suddenly became very popular? Strangely enough, the price has plummeted on these, however. Thinking logically, I would have expected these things to become ludicrously expensive over the Christmas period. HoweverThe pricescrashed for some reason, I have NO idea whycan anyone help me on this one? Imconfused. Regardless, the quest: Myths of the White Lands. Explorer Jack asks you to go to this special ice realm to look for treasure, and a mage from the mage tower teleports you there. Anyone whos played Pokemon Diamond/Pearl will immediately understand how the icy floor works here. Basically, you step onto the ice and you uncontrollably slide in that direction till you stop. Only difference: You can move in 8 directions, which makes the puzzles quite hard, actually. Its a very quick quest which only gives a 500exp lamp, and 5000gp for reasons that will become apparent during the quest. However, there IS some bonus exp to be had there. If you havent done this quest yet, guys, take my advice: Bring a hammer, a chisel, and a Hatchet. Youll see why if you explore the rooms. And finally, IN PYRE NEED. Jagex finally came through with the phoenixes for the first update of the year. Not only can we get Phoenix Familiars, but we can also get PET Phoenixes. AWESOME. Im a person who loves birds, so this is quite a big deal to me. However, it needs level 72 Summoning, but Im going for that anyway. It also gives you access to the Phoenixs Lair, and this lets you get a load of exp for fighting one of the easiest level 265 ever. Pray Mage. Attack. Ignore the fact your Attack Level drops dramatically temporarily. Done. You get loads of Experience for it and a chance to get the aforementioned pet Phoenix. SoThat brings us up to date, I believe. Sorry for the major TL:DR hereRegardless, I hope you enjoyed it. Proper RS Reviews to come.

A Halloween Review (Warning: Minor wall of text)
rossmallo replied to rossmallo's topic in General Discussion
To be honest, I did NOT know about the cat until someone mentioned it. My mistake #-o -
Today, I logged into Runescape after the new update to find Draynor shrouded in darkness and the smell of noobs too lazy to read the main website thick in the air. Yes, Halloween has fallen upon us once again, and I have to admit this right away from the very first glimpse of it, I could tell it was going to be good. All of the areas associated with the quest were dimmed in to a night-time gloom, and I think it was pretty effective with the various lanterns dotted about and the surprisingly good music. Two things were released in the same time and location: The event and the quest. So, lets get the event out of the way first. It all begins with a witch called Maggie near Rimmington, and she asks you to go and get a bunch of various confectioneries. The way you do this is by dressing up in an appropriate costume and trick-or-treating people in Rimmington, Draynor and Port Sarim. If youve been to the 2006 Halloween event, youll pretty much have everything you need for it right there from your POH toybox (or Diango if youre a non-member or combat pure), but people who didnt may be a little disadvantaged. I was lucky enough to have some Shade Robes and a Reaper Hood, but I feel some people may be a bit left out. However, apparently, getting a few random things from Varrocks fancy dress store works just as well. If your costume is good enough, theyll give you some sweets, but some NPCs might not feel so generous and ask you to make good on the trick part. Thankfully, theres a way to give them this trick a look into the cauldron will unlock this years new Emote, appropriately named Trick this causes a flurry of bats to appear around you to scare NPCs into handing more goodies over. Once youve done all this and given Maggie her sweets, youll get a set of Warlock / Witch robes, which is an ensemble of orange and brown striped robes. Not too bad, and the cape in particular looks quite good. Though...as a person with a male Runescape character, let me be the first to say that we kind of got the raw end of the deal here - the Witch cape looks a lot cooler than the Warlock Cape, which jus looks like another Wildy Cape - The witch one has a cresent shape to it and is half the size of a normal cape, which looks very good, if i say so myself. I feel a bit upset that guys couldn't get this superior cape as well... However, I need to comment on a few things. Firstly, the Door-Spammers. In Port Sarim, the Jewellery Stores door shuts after you, only letting one person throughSo some people take it upon themselves to constantly go in and out to choke the door and prevent people from doing any trick-or-treating in there. I think I can speak for the majority of people who have seen these people that they deserve to have a popcorn ball stuffed up their nose, and bizarrely, this actually seems to be happening on the member servers as well as the non-member ones. But, theres not much that can be done about it, so lets just hope it dies down soon. Also, it has to be said, the rate at which the treats are given out are a little unbalanced. That is to say, I keep getting popcorn balls and none of the other two sweets I needed. I literally had to pay a visit to each town twice just to get them all because of the ball-spam. Jag, I dont know if you can fix that, butcan you, because its more than a small inconvenience. Anyway, onto the quest, which most people did in tandem with the event. I didnt, because I wanted to focus on one thing at a time. Stupid me. Cue a THIRD visit to each of the towns. Maggie, once again, sends you out to get a magic broom enchanted by three separate witches to finish off making her potion. Each of these witches poses a tricky little puzzle in order to get each part of the enchantment done, and while not reaching the difficulty, of Mournings End 2s annoying light puzzle, they are pretty difficult to do if you dont know how to go about them. Because of this, it isnt a long quest, but its very worth completing for a few reasons. Firstly, that potion is equivalent to 10 genie lamps, and all of the doses can be spent on separate things which I found incredibly handy. And secondly quite probably the best part of it is the broom that you used in the quest. Initially, its only use is to sweep floors, but you can take it to various witches around the world to get it enchanted. Most of them just grant magic exp, but the Sorceresss Apprentice in Al-Kharid gives it the option to teleport you to the garden from anywhere. Let me be the first to say that this is one of the most useful item teleports Ive seen in a long time (Astral Tablets notwithstanding), because not only does it take you straight to the garden, it is also a very handy shortcut to Shantay Pass without having to use Duelling Rings. This can let you get into the desert quickly, and its also very close to a Bank Chest therefore, this could be very helpful to Abyss Runecrafters and other such people that dont want to have to recharge all their glories every ten minutes. Also, the animation of the teleport is very cool to watch. Lastly, there were a couple odds-and-ends updates today. The three most important ones, in my opinion, are the Compost Bin upgrade (no more click-spam, it loads all the stuff in automatically), the Ale Yeast upgrade (lets you buy multiple yeast at once buying it one at a time was very aggravating for people making homemade brews) and the Fairy Ring upgrade (clickable area of the Fairy Ring has been increased) AndJagex has also mentioned something today that has probably got the official forums completely freaking out about a possible answer to one of the most asked questions this year Whats behind the Mithril Door? Apparently, A distant rumble has recently been heard just north of Baxtorian Waterfall... Ive actually looked into this, and remember that there was an unclimbable flight of stairs there? Its now climbable, and theres a very odd cavern up there. There are large dragon head statues around, and odd anvils that repel any metal that comes near it. Theres a lot of speculation as to what its for, but theres an underlying hope that it could finally be a place to smith Dragon Items. Other people believe they might be able to create Metal Dragons, all the way up to Rune. I dont agree with the former point, but the second one sounds plausiblebut no-one knows for sure at the momentall we can do is wait, see, and mess with more people using bat tornadoes.

The War Economy- a look at how the PVP Worlds affect us.
rossmallo replied to rossmallo's topic in General Discussion
Well, I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying what i beleive will happen. -
This is a piece that I wrote for my college work today - It's all about the current happenings in Runescape with the introduction of PVP Worlds - It's very long, just so you know. The 15th of October, 2008 marks the day when Jagex finally listened to all the pures constantly rampaging around the message board and brought PVP worlds into the world, providing pures with new and exciting ways to get all their items plundered because they underestimated their prey, and then the obvious occurs - they complain to the uncaring public on the forums. Somehow, I think that this isnt much of an improvement from what we had before, but hey, at least we actually have an excuse to laugh at their pain when they cry because their little money making scheme backfired, and we also have a fun new way to try PVP Combat without reintroducing Real-World-Trading, which resulted in the death of the old Wilderness. I tried this, and I have to admit, its a lot harder than I thought it would be - Ive had my face kicked in several times by people with weapons that no sane person would risk, and swarmed by pures in multi-combat areas like Falador. So, eventually, I decided to give up and go onto World 83, my homeworld, to raise some money to defray the cost of my lost items. My three best ways of making money are killing Ankous, collecting stuff from Miscelenia, and Woodcutting. I think it goes without saying that I had had enough of combat for the day, after dying about twenty times that day already, and Miscelenia only takes 5 minutes of my time per day. Well, Woodcutting it is, then. I thought to myself. I got out my casual gear and Dragon Axe, and went to the Magic Tree grove near the base of the inattentive, scorpion-losing sorcerer to see if I could get at least a few logs. However...There was NOT A SINGLE OTHER PERSON THERE. Any woodcutter worth his food seasoning would know that this is an incredibly unusual occurrence. And they stayed this way for a whole 45 minutes before a random woodcutting pure came to join me and mock my taste in headgear (I wear an Omni-Tiara most of the time, so what?). Eventually I had literally accumulated 600 magic logs in that time - usually it would take twice the time to get that. So, I went to the Grand Exchange to sell my goods...And was utterly horrified to see there was literally only 5 other people at the most populated area of the game world. What the hell was going on!? It was then, when I looked at my freindlist, that I realised that practically all of the people who frequented this world were all battle-locked in the PVP world that I had left. This was pretty much exactly like when Summoning was released, only people were going to a different world entirely rather than just parking themselves in Pikupstixs house and trying to remove the oxygen with random yelling and flashing letters. I had never seen something like this before - it was as lonely and eerie as walking through a battlefield after the final blows were stuck, with just a few survivors dotted around. Only, the battle was still raging on, just in a parallel world. Its now been two weeks since that happened. People are starting to come back to this world, but still not nearly as many people as there used to be. See, World 83 is, strictly speaking, meant to be dedicated to the Duel Arena. For the uninitiated, the Duel Arena is a place where people can bet money on a fight between themselves and a friend/rival/victim/enemy, and could win the staked money for winning the battle. However...Think about it - the allure of bigger, better rewards for a higher risk, rather than just getting a (to them) measly 60k an hour on average, is probably somewhat hard to resist. Therefore, the combination of greed and an increased challenge, has resulted in the mass migration to the PVP world from World 83. Of course, in some ways, this is actual beneficial to the average, jack-of-all-trades player such as myself. There are a lot of ways this has improved my gameplay recently, mostly to do with the usual crowds. For example - and this is personal experience, this may not apply for others by the time this makes it to print - Jellies are completely abandoned. There is rarely more than one person at Ankous at any one time. The Mining, Crafting and Fishing guilds are all like ghost towns. Hell, even densely populated areas such as Piscatoris, Ardenouge and even VARROCK have had their crowds cut by about 40% at least. This has resulted in me being able to fish, mine, battle and thieve with relatively little competition. Though, one has to wonder - How long will this golden era last? We have to consider several factors here: Firstly - people who are into combat used to have to do trade skills, either to make money or resources for themselves. However - people are beginning to make money off the items looted from the corpses of the fallen in PVP worlds, so they could say Why should we bother?, Especially if they get a hold of one of the new PVP weapons, that impossibly sell for amounts in the eight digit range...But seriously, call me old fashioned here, but I dont want to spend 30 Million gold on a defective weapon, despite it having the best stats in the game. To paraphrase Ben Yhatzee Croshaw, theres something very wrong about a weapon that breaks in an hour, one that ostensibly isnt made out of glass or chocolate, and why do I forget how to use it on any world other than a PVP one? I know its PVP-orientated, but I still dont think the price tag matches up with its incredibly user-unfriendly nature. So, My point is, why would these people try to get money in the old conventional ways? This explains the lower concentration of skillers, but it also lowers the supply of certain essential goods like coal. Therefore, people who are desperate for it will offer high prices for it in the GE, and some of the remaining skillers will capitalise on this. This will cause prices to spiral upwards, making things harder and harder for skillers over time, because this change might cause the prices of other goods to fluctuate. However, the flip side to this is the fact that some pures may freak out from the loss of items. This can result in them trying to level up their skills to get money back, which would result in more competition for resources. This could result in a new breed of skillers - ones who only do it so they can go back into the fray of the PVP worlds. This may also be completely against the so called Pure Code, but...I dont completely understand their reasoning with anything that they do. I mean, I get flamed for what they call Safeing - Im not certain what it means, but I believe it means healing when youre at high-ish health. What most pures fail to understand is that losing massive amounts of health in PTPPVP worlds in the blink of an eye is possible and common when youre attacked with the right things. Which brings me to my next point. This so called War Economy shift has bumped up the price and demand of the WMDs of each side of the combat triangle. Melee WMDs include Dragon 2handed Swords, Abyssal Whip/DDS combos, Saradomin Swords, and of course, the almighty Godswords, But the latter two are mercifully rare to see on a PVP world. All of these weapons can deal damage quickly, especially against mages, and some of them can turn the tide of a battle in an instant. The best/worst thing about them is that they can be switched in battle - For example, I saw a random lvl 90 with a Dragon Longsword and no armour at one point, so I foolishly engaged him. However, to my horror, he then pulled out a Saradomin Godsword and Barrows armour and within four seconds I was on the floor with a hole where my face once was and none of my items because I was too surprised to activate my Protect Items prayer. So, I went to the bank, got my most powerful Slash/Crush resistant armour and re-engaged him. He must have been expecting this, however, because he brought out a full set of Ahrims Battlerobes and an Ancient Staff, and within seconds I was trapped in a block of ice, wondering where my 74HP had gone in those ten seconds. As you may have noticed, these are the WMDs of magic - Ancienters. Being able to blind you, freeze you and drain your health, people with access to these spells are not to be taken lightly. However, some people use Modern Magic, and some people, provided theyre in a Multicombat zone, use Lunars for stuff like Potion Share, Vengeance and taunting. For example, there was a war going on between two teams of five people (that were both too high level to attack me, thankfully), and one team got destroyed by the other apart from one person. Three of the people of the winning team then randomly walked over to the survivor and surrounded him, used Lunar Magic to bake pies in front of him, then killed him. Unhelpful and random, but bloody hilarious. Finally, theres Ranged. Theres two things that are very powerful, especially to mages. Firstly: The Seercull Bow. This has a special attack that cripples the victims magic level if it connects, which can bring Ancienters to a standstill, which gives the ranger time to move in for the kill while the mage scratches their head and fumbles with their spellbook to find a new spell. Secondly, Armour Pierce Bolts. These can totally mess up people with metal armour if they hit - when they activate, they completely ignore the victims armour and defence. Very handy. But theres one special kind of bolt that, whenever someone brings out a crossbow, people fear that its going to be their ammunition of choice. I am of course talking about DragonFire Bolts. These things are utterly, utterly deadly. Their construction is very expensive - firstly, they have to be made out of Runite, which obviously takes a high level to mine and smith, and then they have to be tipped with Dragonstone Bolts, which require you to be lucky or rich to get - economically speaking, they cost about 40k to get just 12 bolt tips. And you also need a medium-high level Mage to enchant them to bring out the fearsome magic in them...But its all worth it. The bolts are imbued with Dragon Breath, and anyone whos even been hit by that in Dragon Slayer or anywhere else without an Anti-Dragon or Dragonfire Shield will tell you it hurts. A lot. The damage these things can deal is utterly barbaric. Ive only been hit by one of these things before, but it was unfortunately by a lvl 99 Ranger. And through the combination of the bolt and the fire cremating me, I took no less than 54 damage. I am not even kidding. The fact it happens so suddenly makes it almost impossible to defend against, and by the time youve eaten food to heal yourself, another bolt is probably flying in your direction, and if the fire activates on that one as well, youre more than a little done for. One of my friends, who wants to stay anonymous, lost his Saradomin Sword this way, because he was, like I was, too surprised to hit Protect Items before he was burnt to a crisp. 8 Million Gold down the drain. The loss of valuable assets like this have actually been known to cause some people to quit the game altogether, but most of the time it will just result in them going to certain lengths to procure the money again, such as resource gathering. More competition in time. So, this brings me back to my main point - How long will the good times roll for people who arent that much into combat? In my opinion...Not much longer...For the current methods, anyway. Like I have said, the prices are going up for Armour, Weaponry, Ammunition and consumable resources. So, this is what I think will happen in the near future. Weaponry - All Runite weaponry will rise for F2P PVPers, the WMDs will increase too because of higher demand, and fletchers may find that Magic Shortbows will begin to sell to people other than Mages - People can effectively use those for PKing without too much tears if they lose them. Armour - Again, Runite will rise, and Barrows Armour will increase too, especially Ahrims. Ammunition - Chaoses will lower, Deaths and Bloods will rise. Several bolts will increase in price, mainly the ones mentioned earlier. Food- Items with healing lower than Swordfish will decline because of lower efficiency, and items with higher restoration will increase in price. Items like Manta Rays and Tuna+Sweetcorn Baked Potatoes will increase further because it can negate the high damage people can deal better. So in my opinion, it is probably a good idea for skillers like myself to capitalise on the war economy while it is in full swing, or try getting resources such as Magic Logs while they are easy to acquire, then sell them when the prices peak from the inflation that may be about to occur. ...Or you could mess with pures, regardless of any monetary loss, to watch them cry and hollowly call you a noob because of their own incompetence. Your choice. There. What do you guys think on this matter?
