What a gangsta! But stuff like that doesn't fly once you get in the 2nd grade ;) Nonsense, violence is always a fitting response.

I think it's hilarious that openly playing Runescape is like coming out of the closet for some people. "I think it's time I finally come out with it. I play Runescape." You say and all you can hear is the sound of your mother crying and all you can see is the disappointed look on your father's face.

I just flew in from five years ago... ( or TLDR; )

The one thing I was really looking forward to was getting into PvP. I wasn't a major PvPer back when I played. Mostly me and my buddies would sneak up and pick off the sick and dying. We were bastards. But since we only ever did that when we had nothing else to do or were angry and drunk I never got into PvP in a big way. I'm not sure how PvP works now but I'm willing to try and I figure since I wasn't attached to the old ways I might like it. -

I'm not saying it's any better or any worse yet. There are changes that I think are great and there are changes that I think are lame as hell. But for now it's just different. -

Yeah when I found out what happened to the wilderness I wash shocked. Then I unhooked the car battery from my nipples and was astounded. Taking the "real" wilderness out of Runescape seems like taking the whiskey out of a whiskey sour. -

Nothing in particular. It isn't so much that I don't like it it's just that I'm stubborn and don't really care either way. If my little brother is to be believed, and he probably isn't, PKing is totally different in a "new Coke" way. I'll pass. Yeah I was busy partying and being a public menace while gone from Runescape. I wasn't in a coma and losing brain matter. Well, I was losing brain matter but not that way. My point is I've got enough common sense to realize somethings never change. -

Oh really? I don't have to use that crappy quick chat stuff? Cool. But yeah I guess someone can move this to that introduction thread. Oh yeah and isn't "Irregardless" kind of redundant? -
I play tons of games online and catch flak from at least one person for each game, at least. But each one of those people who give me hell for playing a game I like has something much, much worse that I can make fun of.

...and boy is my clicking finger tired. Wait...I did that wrong. I just recently decided, after much deep thought and meditation, to start playing Runescape again. And although some people would just call my deep thought and meditation being drunk it hasn't led me wrong yet. I created a character having since forgot the passwords to my old ones or selling them to my little brother's friends for cigarette money. "The tutorial," I think to myself, "I remember when they added that." But afterward I start to notice things are different. These weird dudes in tacky blue and white clothes are everywhere. I figure they must be useful I start clicking on them and figure they sure make things easier. After about an hour of toying around with the Lumbridge quests and killing the laying waste to the local chicken farms and wheat fields I head to Varrock. "Varrock has got to still be the place to sell your crap" I say to myself (as opposed to only thinking it). Turns out there's this weird Grand Exchange thing now and I don't entirely get it right away, in fact I thought it kind of sucked. I still think it kind of sucks. But it doesn't suck so much that it makes any difference in the end. So I can totally live with that. But in my attempts to try and sell I of course attempted to say I was selling something in the loudest most obnoxious way I could. And I couldn't. Apparently we don't talk around these parts no more, we use... flavorless preset jargon. That's a drag. I like the mmo thing because you can play games with plenty of other people. I'm not sure if I'm getting the mmo feeling I get from other games from Runescape. It's like playing a game by myself with other people there. But for whatever reason I've been leaving and coming back to Runescape for a long time. A long time in computer game time that is, hell I was just a kid when I started playing. So even if things are a little weird and iffy right now I'm totally going to stick around for at least a year. Runescape is where it's at.

This whole idea kind of reminds me of something Neil Tyson said about God. You remember the hits as evidence but seem to ignore the misses.

Anyone who would join a religion started by a science fiction writer who was quoted saying "I'm going to start a religion, that's where the money's at" deserves to be brainwashed. Not to mention the whole alien ghost thing is kind of a give away to being a crock.

I'm gonna have to go out on a limb and assume those aren't the best places to start.
-
Ok thanks a lot. Any suggestions on a good place to start maging in f2p?
-
Ok sounds good. How do I use the skill calculator though? I tried to use one once and I'm too stupid for things like that.
-
So I can pretty much take my mage up as high as I want as long as it's lower than my highest combat skill?
-
I saw in another post something relating to prayer level and mage level and how they affect combat levels. I don't know what the post was or anything else about it since my attention span and short term memory are... ...I saw something about prayer levels and mage levels somewhere and I want to know how much my magic level will affect my combat level. I don't do any PKing, except on very rare occasions of oppurtunity when I'm running through the wilderness for fun and loot so I'm not too concerned with what my combat level is but I'd like to keep it so that I can guage my fighting ability easily in comparison to what I'm fighting. I think what I saw said somehing along the lines of my mage level not affecting my combat level as long as it's lower than my prayer. I've been getting so many runes it's [developmentally delayed]ed lately and figured I might as well do some magic leveling. How does it all work?

I'm sure that when it comes to bigger tougher monsters that's the case for sure, hell that's probably the case for any monster. I'm more or less just trying to figure it out for fun now since I forgot why I started.
-
That's what I'm doing now. Then again in the time it takes me to kill 1k of a certain monster I'll be wanting to move on to something else. I've killed about 200 of the monster of choice at the moment and I can already kind of see a trend with drops, nothing to concise I would imagine though.
-
I was wondering if monsters drop items at a certain frequency of it it's more random. I know that there are higher chances for certain items but is it something that can be figured out (more or less)?

What are good Monsters that drop nature runes?
toxxy replied to Maddavy2004's topic in Help and Advice
I spent some time killing some hobgoblins the other day and unless you can kill them fast, like one hit them, you're not going to get a great many nature runes killing them. -
Question about low combat level (28) and Hill Giants
toxxy replied to toxxy's topic in Help and Advice
Really? Well my max hit on them is like 5 I think so that's not too great but I don't want to spend time killing weak stuff with crummy drops, I don't ned too much food on them, maybe two fish per three giants at most. I don't want to wait till I'm level 50 :P. I like to kill things I can level on and at 50 I think it would take a while to level on giants. ...and I just realized this is totally the wrong board for this. -
I'm not what you'd call a hardcore Runescaper so I'm not up to date on all the info there is when it comes to combat. I'm wondering if Hill Giants are any good for me to fight. All I want is decent leveling and drops I can make some profit on. I know when I used to play, right about when herbore came out I think, limpwurts were ok to sell. Is it still like that? Any info or suggestions would be appreciated.

When I go to attack him no one else is there, even if they are before I go to kill him. It's like the map is me, Delrith, and four wizards in a box.
