    If you take the shield to PP and get scarabs they nuke through the shield, just check the middle chest in each room till you get them and sit there and tank their attacks. Or just do PP and open the chest first in your last 2 rooms every time.

    Both aren't at the same time because there are limits to human capability and dev budgets, clearly they have planned out their dev budget in such a way that allows 1 to have the resources necessary for a july/august release whilst the other while likely still in dev can't have that many resources until later on.

     

    They could do both, but two such big updates in such a short time frame would mean waving goodbye to nearly every other update planned in the dev budget for that time period - so they aren't doing that. For both to come out at the slated july/august makr they would've needed to have been in tandem dev since like august this year or we'd be waiting til 2015 opposed to 2014.

    Maybe that is what they should do? Start focusing on updates one/two at a time and bang them out with a high regard for quality instead of stretching everything/everyone so thin that we get stuff like Birth Right of the Dwarves?

     

    A slower update cycle would translate into higher quality content both in terms of game play and Q/A Testing.

    RuneScape Companion - Web App

    We are delighted to launch the RuneScape Companion web app to all RuneScape players today. It’s a new way to talk to your friends in RuneScape using your mobile phone, tablet or PC without logging into the full game.

    It's a web app, so rather than needing to install it from an app store, you simply follow these steps:

    For the moment, the web app supports Friends Chat, Clan Chat and Private Messages to and from the game, but we’ll be adding more features throughout 2014. Let us know what you’d like to see!

    This is the first version of the web app, and it's still a work in progress. It currently works on more modern Android devices and the iPhone 5 upwards. Please check the list of supported devices below to see if it will work on your phone or tablet.

    If your device isn’t currently supported, we’ll be making updates to the web app in January which should increase this list substantially.

    • Desktop PCs and laptops, using Chrome.
    • Android devices with 1GB RAM or more, using Chrome. These include:
      • Nexus 4
      • Nexus 5
      • Nexus 7
      • Samsung Galaxy S3
      • Samsung Galaxy S4
      • HTC 1X+
    • iOS devices with 1GB RAM, using Safari. These are:
      • iPhone 5
      • iPhone 5C
      • iPhone 5s
      • iPad 3rd Gen
      • iPad 4th Gen
      • iPad Air
      • iPad Mini retina

    Currently, the web app doesn’t work - or performs unreliably - on the following devices:

    • Blackberry Phones

    It seems things will be tight but not hopeless with changes to phases:

     

    If you do:

    God a - Everything t1

    God b - t1 (sans ability) & t2

    God a - t2 & t3 sans ability on both

    God b - t3 everything

     

    It works out to 41.4 days of renown needed, with a 10k wastage getting d token for god a in last stage.

    If you do ability with god a for t3 it works out to 44.8 days.

     

    So its not entirely within doable (since wiki calendar suggests we only have 41 days) without a couple of alchemists, but better than it was before phase shifts.

     

    Exact workings for anyone that cares:

     

     

    God A T1 - Warpiest x2, emote, title, ability

    104000 renown required for buying, 90k req for token.

    3.4666.... days of work.

     

    God B T1 - Warpiest x2, emote, title

    God B T2 - Warpreist x2, emote, title, ability

    238,200 item cost, 200k token req

    11.4066666... days of work thus far.

     

    God A T2 - Warpriest x2, emote, title

    God A T3 - Warpiest x2, emote, title

    440,400 item cost, 450k token req

    9,600 extra for 450k

    26.406666..... days of work thus far.

     

    God B T3 - Warpriest x2, emote, title, ability

    381,400 item cost, 450k token req

    68,600 extra for 450k

    41.406666.... days of work.

     

    If you do ability on god A in t3 you get

    545400 total cost reached at 29.5866666.... days

    Then god b becomes

    276,400 cost with 173,600 extra for 450k token

    Making 44.586666... days of work.

     

     

    Not sure if you've seen this or it changes anything but they have a calendar marking when phases change.

    Buying a new gaming laptop

    If you want a computer for gaming, don't get a laptop, it will cause you huge issues down the road. For $2k you can get a fantastic tower and a dual monitor setup, don't fall for the Alienware hype those are over priced for what you get.

    In terms of towers, I personally avoid AMD/ATI processors and stick with Intel and you get way better bang for your buck with AMD/ATI Graphics cards over NVidia.

    The PS4 is the fastest-selling console in UK history.

     

    But yeah, it's all about to come crashing down guys.

     

    Just because people want to throw money at something doesn't mean it's sustainable.

     

    PS4 also had an advantage this time in terms of price over the Xbox.

     

    Not to mention the part about hardware upgrades/new renditions being a large part of the problem in the degradation of game quality.

    Another fantastic piece from Cracked. And I have to agree, the quality of games coming out now, while fantastic in graphics is lacking in game play, we continually see a rehash of the same content over and over and its rather disappointing.

    A few friends and I have started a document on google documenting changes to RuneScape that would help revive it and bring it back in, with a lot of the updates that have come out of late I've realized that the game designers at Jagex know things like this, they just aren't allowed/don't have the time/money to do it. And that all boils down to someone who knows nothing about game design and only wants to make loads of money being the leader ship.

     

    In the end I do hope that there is a change in the gaming industry, I've long since argued that $65 for a game that is the same thing over and over is ridiculous and that is why I still support PC gaming, where more frequently you can find quality games for $30 or less.

     

     

    As a note, I believe we are up to 30 pages, 10k words and 60k characters.

     

    Also this could go into general discussion to actually see some content.
