  1. - there is a very simple way to determine ur merchanting ability. sure theres not nice little numbers like the other skill but give 2 people same amount of money and let them mercahnt better one will have more/ more experinece. - it may not be hard but its the hardest thing to do in runescape and NOT everyone can do it... sure u can make a few gps here and there and say mercahnting but were talking about real mercahnts who dont just hold rares or make a few k here and there. - Anyone can come into this game and get all 99 skills just clicking away and alot of patience... .merchanting is a very risky skill especially dealing with rares and takes a knowledge of the market, knowing when to buy and sell items, knowing places to buy items... extra - all depends on the person i find it much more boring sitting in one spot clicking a rock, moster, or whatever for hours. Mercahnting is risky and keeps u on edge if u know how to do it right... and i talk to friends while mercahnting as well... u dont have to spend every second merchanting typing... fourms help  - i think u forgot about the biggest merchanting market... rares. a person played last year could buy a party hat from 30-90mill where they can sell it now 100-300mill. and there are the merchants that spend an hour or two searching for a person to sell at a lower cost then most people buy. its not stealing if the person does not want to sell then thats his right... but good mercahnts can find desperate people willing to sell items fast which means not a price so high.
  2. i dont mean should i use cannon on the monster im talking about gaining ex like to 80. what are some good training spots for the cannon? - also what im wearing does that affect how well the cannon does on enemies?
  3. ok ill raise my range... should i just buy alot of arrows or use a cannon ... which one is fastest? im at level 1 so... lol. - and for the cannon any spots reccommended thats good for it?
  4. well so can i still do it with magic and not use range?... i have 1 range so im just wondering. and if u think magic would work what spell u think would work best on them?
  5. ive seen the guide but people usually find better ways of doing it through experience which is y i asked... like ive heard sara brew is better then what that shows... - so what im asking is people who know alittle about this and if i have to use rnage or can i use magic?
  6. im wanting to get a fire cape and am wondering what stats are probably required. i read one post and he says use range ... im wondering do u have to use range or can i use magic instead? - im thinking full guthans - attack and def at 70 not sure from here.... asking people that have gotten one thanks
  7. You don't know what most people's real life like. I became addicted in summer 2004 until a few months ago. I have combat 123 and 1700+ total skills but I don't play Runescape much nowday also I bought World of Warcraft a few days ago. I started playing Runescape BEFORE I began doing University course. Now I'm 2nd year University student and I still enjoy with my course. There are no problem that related to Runescape. Also I was addicted for created my own websites during school and college. There were no problems as well. - well of course i dont know what people's real life is like... but just go on these fourms any day and ull c where someone else is quitting saying how they wasted months or year of their life playing this game. usually in the rant sanction cuz they ither lost monye or character. - but i myself get addicted to games and even have to this but now just for fun and dont spend every spare moment i have thinking and playing it[/b]
  8. like people said... its a game there is no point and will not benefit u in life... its made to have fun. which can be done several ways by pking, dueling, doing quest etc. - as i see most people become addicted to the game and relize about a year later that this is all they have done and dont have a life. For me is more of just a relaxing thing or something i do when im bored and nothing good on tv. friends, school, and all real life comes first... this is just for fun nothing else.
  9. i agree that putting names on stuff would be real cool... but i think that would change prices alot of some stuff. like u said i bet people would pay several 100k more to have something by zezima or high player then just some low lvl.
  10. - well of course merchanting new items is easy as the range of its price is several 100k usually or mill. like the guy said above there are several typs of merchanters. I think the guy who made this topic is talking about the serious merchanters, not the investors and not new item mercahnts, but people that merchant rare items, or large amounts of raw materials. When you are merchanting for serious money... NOT on new items... you will see that it is much harder than most people think due to several reasons already mentioned in this thread
  11. - um its not really luck its studying the market and seeing when the items sells for most and when it sells for least. How that is luck is hard to believe. - funny u should say that except i can say the exact same thing about any skill on runescape without the luck part. Anyone and i mean even the dumbest person on this game can get all skills to 99.. just takes patience and eye drops as u like to say. Merchanting takes knowledge of the market and patience, not to metion negoation skills. try merchanting and see how easy it is... and make more than a couple k.
  12. - manipulate?? ummm have u ever wanted maybe 1000 coal or maybe some cowhides? One form of merchanting is buy small amounts alittle cheaper then normal and selling a big bulk of it for alittle higher making money. Now how is it manuplating if u say buying coal 150 each and the person trades u. Then u say selling 1k coal 200 each. - People like u obviously have not merchanted because u put merchants and scammers in the same category which in totally untrue
  13. i agree merchanting is a skill... its about the hardest skill there is in this game... - And to Cwolf... it may not take a great genius to figure out where to buy them but u also left out other factors such what time of day to buy and sell items making most profit. And lets not forget the rare market the biggest and hardest market to master out of all of them. Now if u can merchant santas and party hats and say its easier then clicking a rock or chopping a tree all day i would like to know... like the person said.. anyone that has ever truly merchanted knows its not as easy as everyone makes it out to be
  14. - well seeing as u did bump it.. its not really hard to believe.. seeing as blue party hat was around 80mill at the beggining of last year and is now around 220mill. and the cheapeast hat is around 82mill. with less in market every yera just gives that much mroe of a chance to rise.
