  1. This post will be used for extra detail/space if it is needed -- as well for a Q & A.
  2. How To Send A Query/ Contact The Jagex Customer Support Team Go to the RuneScape Mainpage @ http://www.runescape.com/ it is there you will see in the Knowledge Base Section ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹ÃâComment Our Service.ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ Click the link so it can take you to http://kbase.runescape.com/lang/en/aff/run...article_id=2509 The 2 in red are the 2 most commonly used. After you click any one of those links ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâá You will have to log in on that window (not in game). Once logged in, you can type in your query: Things To Send In A Query Adverts Send in a query about adverts when they are inappropriate & or contain malware that is infecting your computer or the game in anyway. Don't send in queries that such as 'The (name of advert) advert is making me lag, please remove it.' Jagex makes money from adverts and that they will not remove an advert just for your personal satisfactory as they have many players in game. This query should be very general and easy to send - if there is a problem with the adverts, state the problem and which advert, and leave it at that. Privacy Concerns Need your personal information handled? Send a query to Jagex about your worries in personal information - This is personal information used to recover your accounts when you are hacked or if somebody hacks you and you recieve a dirty black mark for their actions or even banned. This is personal information like IP-Address, e-mail addresses, and even your computer information and downloading help can be questioned here if runescape is having difficulties running to your latest java script, downloads, installations, hardware, and more. If RuneScape is no longer running on your computer, this would be the best place to send information. The best information you can give is your computer spec & the problem that is occuring. Complaints Have any complaints? Need to rant? Want something done about your problems in game? Send a query about it in complaints! Rant rant rant, nag nag nag till your problem is done. Importantly! you much be polite & 'seem' proffessional. When you send a query in complaints, use synonyms and vocabulary words that impress jagex, only then, a jagex member would want to reply to your complaints. If you have spelling errors & you are just complaining or nagging RUDELY, then you are like to get no reply - not even an auto-reply sometimes. Other Comments If it doesn't fit in any of the other categories above, type about it here. Things such as compliments may be posted here - once again, it is highly recommended to use strong vocabulary or synonyms to impress jagex members, only then they will want to reply to you. you can also ask your questions here. Query Tips & Tricks Use strong vocabulary or synonyms: which can be found at http://www.onelook.com/ Use good grammar. Check you spelling or type up the query on a word document where it will (usually) automatially fix all your spelling/grammar errors. DO NOT TYPE IN CAPS LIKE THIS Don't refer to other runescape players in your queries, your queries should be personal and not about other players. If you have a suggestion, post it on forums. If you are f2p - you can no longer send in suggestions in queries (sadly :() Try to use up as much space as you can but you are also limited as well. Don't abuse the queries & not to send queries in the wrong section or it could be a misuse. Recieving An Answer! Jagex will always receive your queries, however they may not always reply to it even if useful (unless you are a mod). You can use queries to report websites & complain. Sometimes they do reply to it but it may be an auto-answer as they are very busy. You will know when you have a message from Jagex when you log in-game you will have a little message on the top right: To get to your message centre you go to the main page and click the link that says ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹ÃâRead your messages from JagexÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ in the Account Management section: After that you will have to log in once again: You can read your message, or delete them. And that is how you Report People or Send In A Query. ^_^ Copyright ÃÆââ¬Å¡ÃâéAubrey666, Shasta Sms 4 Aug 2006, MaSoRS, RuneScape2 Town
  3. Rule 8: Multiple Log In Multiple log in, when 1 player is on 2 or more accounts at once. Simple as that, when they player admits to it you get them. You can only catch them if they admit it thoughÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ Because some players can have similar name. Even if you know they are multi log in, if they donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t admit it, there is no evidence to it. Also commonly unkown. Item transfering is considered interaction between 2 accounts which means itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s against the rules. The best thing to do is to let your friend know itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s against the rules first (as a warning) since not many people go over the rules very well. After you have given your friend a warning, they are disrespecting you by doing it again. It may seem like a dumb rule but a rule is a rule that is how we play the game. I believe this rule helps prevent an unfair advantage over other newer players that are starting the game, and that is why it is there. Rule 9: Encouraging Others To Break Rules We have rules for a reason, why encourage others to break them? ItÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s because that person wants to make you hit rock bottom. The person wants to make you sad and everybody else sad. Anybody like this deserves to be reported and banned. Rules are there for a reason and Jagex will always care. The person may also want to make you break the rules just so that he or she can report the other player he or she is encouraging. Luckily as said before Jagex looks at what you and the player with offense says, even in your private chat. Rule 10: Misuse of Customer Support (False Representation) The Customer Support Team is here to help you and check your reports. The more reports they get, the more they lag. They donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t just lag on you, they lag on everybody else, even true reports. Remember, when somebody misuses the customer support, the customer support team lags on YOU too! If you want them to stop complaining about how they want to quit, tell them to simply log off if they donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t like the game. They usually listen. If someone says, "Report , he is item scamming!!!!" that is reportable for Misuse of Customer Support. Only report item scamming if you have witnessed it in the trade screen. This can also be done in queries, un-reportable however, but all queries go straight to Jagex which is basically a free way to get banned or a black mark for misuse. Rule 11: Advertising Websites There is so much things on the internet itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s unbelievable. Jagex however does not want us to advertise any websites. This is because websites could contain malware your computer may ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹ÃâsecretlyÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ download just to hack your personal information or passwords. Not only that, when a website is advertised, itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a website competing with RuneScape because RuneScape is also a website. As well, if somebody is advertising RuneScape.com, they are mocking Jagex rules and RuneScape is a website which makes it reportable if you advertise their own site. This includes clan websites and big domain names such as Google and Myspace. Rule 12: Real World Trading This is a rule because itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s an unfair advantage to poor people. ItÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s also selling Jagex property to proffit yourself. People could also cheat you for your money so you have the opportunity to being scammed when real world trading. ItÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s unfair that somebody can simply buy the money when you are working hard for it. This is also illegal as they are once againÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ Selling something that doesnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t belong to them. Rule 13: Asking For Personal Detail For the safety of all of the players, players shouldnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t give out personal details or ask for them as well. Importantly too, they shouldnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t advertise somebodyÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s personal details. This is something Jagex could get sued for if a 13 year old or younger is kidnapped just for playing RuneScape and giving their detail out. That is why Jagex makes it against the rules. And you never know, it could just happen to anybody. WouldnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t that stink if a bunch of people pranked call you as well? So this rule counts even if the person is giving away another persons details. If someone asks for your IM, that is reportable but you can simply say "that's personal" and they will not ask again (hopefully). Asking your real life name isn't very personal so it isn't necessary to report. UnReportable Rules (In-Game) Rule 14: Misuse of Offical Forums The forums has a separate part of rules from the game but very similarÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ The Forum Code of Conduct may be found at this link: http://[Please Use QuickFind Code].com/lang/en/aff/run...odeofconduct.ws Rule 15: Advert Blocking This is how Jagex makes money, Jagex needs money to keep the game running. Tricks To Reporting People: When in a big world, add the player to your friendlist and place your public chat on friends to witness the player, what he is doing (which offence), and his name. ~ Sometimes necessary to run somewheres or go upstairs a room ~ Type down the name of the player but do not hit enter on your chat screen, click ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâreport abuseÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ and report. This is recommended for difficult names. Many times macro bots have their owners near by spying. Enstead of reporting them all, write down their names on a piece of paper and then report them. Many times if a high level player is near by not talking, the owner of the macro bots will the high level is a player moderator and may abort their bots so that they can safely cut in a different world. When a scammer aborts, he or she will try a different world. Add the scammer if his or her chat is on to see which world was hopped to. Sometimes you can ask somebody to calm down such as a player whom is using offensive language, it may not be necessary to report immediately. Never threaten to report them when talking them out of it. DonÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâhunt,ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ report them as you see. They come to youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ The worst thing to do is to be searching for trouble. Sometimes people do annoy you, but they are keeping with-in Runescape rules. So you can't report people if they are annoying the heck out of you. If this does happen, resort to your ignore list. This will make you avoid placing your anger and annoyed-self on others, which will make you look a lot better then flaming other people out because of 1 annoying person (or more). People do get annoying but they can not get banned for not breaking the rules.
  4. Rule 4: Cheat/Bug Abuse You see somebody doing something out of the ordinary (on purpose) and abusing it, report them. Duplicating items, attacking players out of the wilderness, being invisible, walking through walls all sorts of things that can happen. Often times this is being done for the players own benefits. This is not a very common rule broken though however very noticable ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ Try your best to catch them admitting to it though when reporting. Sometimes we find bugs that we really canÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t control such as: The best thing to do when you find a bug is to report it by going to the main page and clicking ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹ÃâReport a bug/faultÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢: http://kbase.runescape.com/lang/en/aff/run...main&cat_id=139 There it will give you instructions on what to doÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ Often times Jagex fixes these bugs ASAP, however, sometimes it takes time and patience. Remember, somebody else could have already encountered the bug and already reported it, be sure to check if itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s been reported already or not when you get in there. Rule 5: Jagex Staff Impersonation When you see this, report it immediately. Jagex Staff has a Gold Crown next to their name, and Player Moderators have a Silver Crown next to their name. If they do not have a crown, they are imposters out to get you. Remember, Jagex Staff will never ask for your password, and (hopefully) player moderators wont either. Forum Moderators are for forums and they have no need to point they are forum moderators ingame and (hopefully) they will never ask for your password either. Rule 6: Account Sharing/Trading Anybody buying or selling an account is breaking this rule and should be reported immediately. Since you have to wait 60 seconds report the seller firstÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ And wait for the buyer to come and to say they want to buy. Almost anybody can go bad in these situations so youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve got to get them quick. Report anybody as soon as you can even mods. Rule 7: Macroing These are also known as autoers or macro bots. They do not talk or speak usually they just do whatever they are programmed to do. Many times, they come in groups and it is suggested that a mod comes a long to report them much quicker then a regular player. If you see some though and youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve got the time, report them as it does help. It really does help even though you get no praise for it. Keep up the good work! Importantly, if a player admits to macroing ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâá Report it under offensive language so the customer support team can see. DonÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t hesitate to report a player for macroing if you are suspicious, Jagex will find out whether the player is a true player or a macro bot. Don't be fooled by somebody level, not all macros are level 3 wearing the same thing. Even level 126 combat players could macro in whatever they want. Report if you are suspcious but never tell somebody you reported them. However, don't report macro talk if it's business and strictly business only. If somebody is using auto-talk for anything else, REPORT IT AS SPAM under Rule 1.
  5. This is not a guide on how to avoid scamming, it is a guide on how to destroy disruptors of the code of conduct. Reporting Guide Common Locations Of Rule Breakers: The most common places you can find cheaters are in Varrock Center, Varrock West Bank, Varrock East Bank, Faldor Center, Faldor East Bank, Karamja Fishing Spot (F2P), and even in Lumbridge. The Report Abuse Feature: To help the Jagex Customer Support team catch nasty rule breakers, we are given the priviledge to report abuse. To report abuse click the button that says ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâreport abuse,ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ it looks a lot like this: When you click it, a window appears, in the middle of your screen, where it shows each of the following rules & a space for you to enter a name (12 characters max). When your mouse/arrow highlights the rules it turns red. (NEW) When you see somebody cheating or breaking a rule, enter the name of the disruptor within 1 minute of the action for evidence. Remember, when you send in a Report Abuse Query, the Customer Support Team can see what you and the disruptor says, even in your private chat. After sending in a Report Abuse Query, you will have to wait 1 minute to report somebody else. When there is multiple offences, it is important to report the rule with the higher risk. For example, between a person using offensive language and somebody item scamming, I would report the person item scamming. If the rule breaker continues to break the rule after you have reported him or her, please do not report them more then once for the same offensesÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ However, if the player is breaking multiple rules report them for a different offence. Do not go around and tell people to report other people as they do not have evidence it would be a misuse of customer support. Reporting multiple times and having multiple people report lags the customer support system. Importantly, NEVER TELL SOMEBODY YOU REPORTED THEM as this tend to lead to flaming which causes more offences. When you report somebody, keep it to yourself. Rules & Examples: All the rules can be found at this link: http://kbase.runescape.com/lang/en/aff/run...main&cat_id=823 Rule 1: Offensive Language Some players are cheap and they try to make money quick and easy' date=' by stealing it. [img']http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/9872/itemscammingtm2.gif[/img] Often times, a players trust is betrayed and the item is takenÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ Even between good friends. Do not trust people with your valuables. When the word trust is involved, often times itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a good time to report somebody right there and then and say no. Not all your friends are out to get you though, so if your friend ask for your trust, simply just say no and continue to be friends. There is just no point to destroying a good friendship over pixels. ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâá Commonly, Item Scamming is done on a throw away account which is just shameful. However, Jagex can find ways to catch the Main/Golden Account through the throw account simply from when it trades all the scammed valuables to the main. Do not stop to think to report a throw away account, report it immediately. *TEAM SCAMMERS* --> Not very common however it is done. When you run into this remember that jagex only looks at what you said & what the player you reported said - so his or her buddy would look like he or she is out of the picture and the player you reported is innocent. Right before you report the player trying to scam you, say outloud or privately: 'Team scammers (insert name of person you reported) & (insert name of scamming buddy)' And then you report for Item Scamming. This is also commonly done in the trust game... Rule 3: PassWord Scamming PassWord Scamming (and Pin/Recovery Question) can be done publcly like this: Some of the new players foolishly fall for this and the scammer will take their account away and hack them. As soon as you see this' date=' report it immediately. Sometimes a friend might ask for your password, once again [b']say no[/b]. As account sharing/trading is also another offense that will be discussed later. If your friend flames you down, they arenÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t a true friend & there is no point to keeping them on your friendlist ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ however it is your choice.
  6. He, I got that a couple times - I usually say i'm rich enought but a (mod) friend would like the money. They fall for it phr33 mute :boohoo: no i can continue practicing ^_^
  7. System Update, didn't it respawn atleast one system update and somebody could buy the bulk?
  8. World 16 RC Company Helps a lot - It's in the air rcing spot. You maybe f2p such as I but you may read official forums about these things :P
  9. They do not send in 'praise' for reports on macro or offensive language. I've reported billions and as long as something is done about it - i'm fine with that, I don't need a praise on reporting. It is sad that they can't confirm that action is being placed on though, I send in a query about this the other day and I always get a message such that isn't personal or prioritized but that's only because they are really busy people. However, you can keep up the good work and they might make you a player mod which comes with priority report, you will always be responded personally and your reports abuse (basically sending in a query in game) will be replied to. Unfortunately - I'd have to say on average about 10% of non mods are ignored :? But what can we do about it? --> And yes, there are millions of people playing runescape i'm sure they get millions of reports (some misused which is why we have to wait 60 seconds to report again unless your a mod lol). Jagex doesn't know what to look for in those millions and they only got about 2.5k player mods in game probably some not even active... So don't expect the best just because you send in a report. Why do we send in a report? Do you want the macroer taking all your business with the yews - And please do not say they help the economy, yews have dropped to 240 ea and i use to sell them at 300 ea np. A kid a couple months ago (they posted in the updates to take a rest from rs one time) a 14 year old kid commit suicide over the game, I heard from being scammed etc... And do you remember that time you got scammed, I'm sure most if not all of us have been scammed at least once since we've started. Do you really want that to happen to somebody else? It felt pretty bad losing my first full set of rune to a scammer #-o . NEVER SAY REPORTING IS FOR MOD WANNA BEs, I say you report because it fealt bad when something bad happened to you, or if you know something bad will happen to somebody else. Keep on reporting to get rid of the garbage though \ It really helps! BTW! You report for macro - for the rest of the rules you can't.
  10. This looks more like what you encountered in the mod party today? Maybe you should post pictures of the mod party they have monthly?
