  1. If you're unable to pick up the signal with one adapter another will not help that much, could very much be a dead spot in your house or just that your router's signal doesn't go that far. Router would have a much bigger effect than a wireless adaptor would have. From my experience wireless is always very random as to your signal so even if the best adapter in the world you might not get a decent signal still.

Anyway http://www.ebuyer.com/155640-tenda-wireless-n300-usb-adapter-w322u-v2-0 Is what I use and have had absolutely no problem with it although not sure if it's available in the US or not.

It might be worth checking out some things in this video: http://www.tested.com/tested-easy-tweaks-to-expand-your-wi-fi-coverage/47-55/ fairly basic but some good suggestions there on to how to improve your signal.

  2. I like the game and still think it's awesome but the updates this year thus far have been terrible in my honest opinion so I'd say Jagex are doing a bad job when it comes to that based on everything this year so far. You can still be a fan of the game and think it's fun yet think Jagex aren't doing a good job, they're not the same thing.

  3. Hello,

We do not allow videos/instructions on this sort of luring here. Luring within the wilderness is fine (luring from single to multi for example) however tricking other players into the wilderness to kill them is something we do not support and do not want promoted on our forums.

    Thanks,

    DarkDude98 - Tip.It Administrator.

  4. I have heard, although not checked it out myself that German TV channel RTL has free live streaming of F1 races so you could watch that, mute it and have Radio 5 Live's commentary. Of course unless you have an internet TV it wont be the same, but better than forking out for Sky.

I actually had RTL via satellite back in the ITV days and switched over there whenever ITV had adverts on although there were times when both channels had adverts at the same time. But that's definitely an option. German Commentary is awesome though, I believe the german for pit stop is "Box and stop!" or something similar, although has been a number of years so I could be remembering that wrong.

  5. For freeview it appears you need to spend £20 per month for just Sky Sports 1, and of course need a freeview receiver that is compatible.

For Sky sports via SkyPlayer (Xbox360 etc.) It appears to cost £15 a month for Basic Sky then another £19 for Sports Pack so £34 a month but I imagine you don't get all the channels available with that. So to be honest you'd be better off getting full sky at that point. Still a huge amount of money.

  6. They will include in their sky sports package which to get you requires an additional fee and not just having Sky TV. You can get Sky Sports without Sky TV but that gets a hell of a lot (>£20 a month) especially as you'll probably need all the sky sports channels to get full coverage so you'll need to pay even more for that. A complete and utter joke and a huge middle finger to those who've been working so hard to bring us the fantastic coverage we've had on the BBC, feel terrible for everyone there, especially people like Martin Brundle who is now out of a job because of this.

  7. Absolutely terrible decision. I'd rather it be split between BBC and ITV to be honest and I wasn't a huge fan of the ITV's coverage.

Given that F1 is the only thing I watch on TV this means there's no point me having a licence any more, saves me some money I guess.

  8. Can we at least get past the "it's not DLC" barrier so we do not have any more arguments in the future? It's the equivalent of me going on the CoD Black Ops thread, and constantly complaining about why Activision and Treyarch release their DLC a month later for PC and PS3 users after they release it for 360 users. "There is absolutely no reason they can't release" the map packs at the same time for each console.

Microsoft have an exclusivity deal for a limited time. It sucks but it's how things are.

In the case of SSF4, Yoshinori Ono stated that it was "too large of an update to be DLC" just to add 10 new characters, gameplay tweaks, and new modes. As for UMvC3, the same thing could have happened with the addition of 12 new characters, gameplay tweaks, and new modes, but SSF4 has more "in-depth" mechanics than MvC3 and that SSF4 uses a completely different game engine from MvC3's MT Framework 2.1.

The latter probable cause is obviously speculation and that I'm unsure which game engine is easier to work with.

They are perfectly able to at least put the new characters and balance changes in with a patch at the very least, so all gameplay changes should be perfectly viable via a patch/Downloadable Content.

Had the new game be $60 I would be busy petitioning Capcom right now and agreeing with everything you said, but I cannot say no to rebalanced gameplay, a better online experience, X-Factor being less [developmentally delayed], and Jean Grey getting hit with the nerf bat now that the game is $40. Guilty as charged.

Don't get me wrong, everything in the update is awesome and I'm glad they're doing it, but they should have make it available without having to buy the same content again. Downloadable would be preferable but if it was via an expansion disc that would work fine too, the point it's basically a huge insult to those who already have it. I think the idea of a combined version like they're doing is awesome, but they need to offer an alternative.

I guess I'd be complaining less if they hadn't just released SFIV:AE and done that correctly and now they've just gone back into their old habits with no, as far as I'm aware, viable reason for doing so. I could be entirely wrong and they have a valid reason for doing it like this but as far as I can tell this is not the case.

Anyway, to the actual characters themselves. I'm very interested to see how Phoenix Wright will play, certainly a fairly odd inclusion but given some of the other characters in there I'm sure they'll come up with some crazy moves for him. As long as he shouts Objection a lot I will be happy.

  9. This thread is to discuss Ultimate MvC3. I am doing just that.

There is absolutely no reason they can't release the characters as a downloadable add-on and you've yet to provide a legitimate explanation as to why they can't do that. They said they didn't release the characters individually due to the situation in Japan which is fair enough and no one is denying or arguing against that. That does in no way mean they can't release it as download content as well as releasing the package they've put together. This has very little to do with game development, which for your information, I have significant knowledge about so please don't go throwing around assumptions based off absolutely nothing.

All you're doing is blindly defending Capcom and providing no "evidence" towards your statements and just going off things that other people are saying rather than coming up with your own thoughts on the subject. All you've said is that if they released it as DLC it would cost $60 based on the fact they were selling at $5 before and thus we should be happy that we're getting ripped off now.

I will not be buying this for $40 and hopefully a lot of others will follow suit in protesting this ridiculous price. Most of those 12 new characters look really interesting I would love to play as them, however I do not play this game enough to warrant spending an additional $40 just so I can have access to a few more characters and I'm sure a lot of people feel exactly the same. All this is doing is isolating the players even more and making it a huge split between hardcore players who'd buy it no matter what and those who only play casually and not enough to warrant an additional $40 for just a couple of features that would rarely be used. This will also create a division online as well as I imagine that playing online between the two games is impossible thus making it so those who haven't bought this won't be able to play online as the majority of players who play a lot online will be moving over.

  10. Nothing at all is stopping them from releasing this pack as a downloadable pack as well as a combined disk, that would be the best way to do it and wouldn't be forcing people to buy the entire game again.

Because they hugely over charged for DLC ($5 per character is a joke) does not work as an argument. Given that the original game cost $60 and included 36 characters $40 for 12 is a joke still, debunking your argument even more.

I'm not getting a discount, I'm paying an EXTRA $40 on top of what I got the game for, that's not a discount that's an extreme price. It also completely makes my current disc redundant.

Can you please explain why they can't just release a $20 pack for those who already have the game to download? They can still release the $40 disc so those who don't have the game already (And tournament organisers like you said) can buy it handily in one package. There's is absolutely zero reason why they can't do that, which is what they did with Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, why on earth can't they do that here? It's because they know that they can get away with it and all their fanboys will still buy this crap when it is basically daylight robbery and a hugely hugely outdated model. Sad really.

  11. Well it's only Capcom still doing this crap and it needs to be stopped right here. Although it seems lots of people still take their crap and will continue to do so. I'm confident if enough people protest properly they will stop with this horrid outdated model and actually keep iup with the rest of the industry. Capcom in general are still a long way behind the rest of the gaming companies when it comes to a number of things and not just this, but I guess that's mainly a Japan thing really.

  12. Because they overprice their DLC doesn't make it excusable.

People have complained about the price of the DLC characters since the start especially as data for them was actually included on the disc.

The whole updated version of the game on disc is an outdated model and needs to be dumped. There's a reason why no games do that any more. There are a couple of on-disc only expansions but you're not rebuying the game at the same time with that and those are few and far between.

Having it all on one disc is great, but they NEED to have other methods of obtaining the new content rather than basically saying "You already bought the game? Well tough luck, you'll have to buy it again and be able to do nothing with that old disc!".

Rebalancing the game via a patch is entirely possible so that's not an issue. So all you'd be paying for is 12 characters and 8 stages, now why don't they just sell that for $20 (Or maybe even $25) rather than making people have to spend $40 for in my opinion, not $40 worth of content.

  13. It's a shame they're not releasing this as DLC for those who already have the game, means we miss out on characters and features unless we buy the entire game again. Oh well.

i agree with you mostly but it is going to cost 40$ so they cut us some slack atleast..... i think..... did they? lol

I can't think of another modern game that does this, SSFIV being an exception but they fixed that with AE.

It's an outdated and pointless method of updating games, when DLC and digital distribution in general is as big as it is it makes no sense at all not releasing this as DLC. Why should I have to buy the entire game again just to get additional characters when there's a much better alternative out there.

It's a shame that people still stand for this crap and don't protest about it.

  14. The way the new "kiosk" looks, they may implement a familiar-friendly grand exchange area. I mean, you can walk around the edge with a familiar, and although I'm not 100% sure, you can have one at the tree, so it would only make sense. Sometimes people just want to pop in to the GE for a few seconds to collect/buy/sell something but don't want to have to dismiss a fresh familiar, nor can people gear up at the GE (load yak, ect.)... yet. This would be a good update imo.

The main problem with familiars at the GE was lag due to the mass amount of people. If they're spreading out the GE to the corners that should reduce lag and hopefully make it possible for familiars to be there too, let's hope anyway.

  15. Bastion is an action role-playing video game produced by independent developer Supergiant Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.[2] The game's visual style is inspired by anime and its narrative style takes the form of a dynamic voice-over. Bastion was released on July 20, 2011 for Xbox Live Arcade and will be released later in 2011 for digital download on PC.[3]

Has anyone else played this? I've just beaten it and so far it's my favourite game of the year and considering some of the other things which have come out so far this year that's saying a lot. I'd highly recommend picking this up if you don't have it or at least trying the demo out but that's a very very small part of the game and doesn't really show it off properly.

  16. ^ ROW does affect clues now, remember reading that when the update first happened.

Hm, I'm probably wrong but I thought I remembered Jagex saying that ROW only affects monster drops.

Taken from the game guide in the knowledge base:

    The Ring of Wealth

The ring of wealth's magical power can sometimes have an effect on the drops that you receive from defeated creatures, and a few skill-related tasks. To understand how it works, we first need to define some terms.

100% drop - Most creatures have what is called a '100% drop' which they will drop every time they are defeated (e.g. bones or ashes).

Main drop - This will be an item drawn from a creature's 'drop table' based upon a random 'roll' (imagine a dice roll or roulette wheel).

Drop table - This is a list of all items that a creature could possibly drop. The percentage chance of receiving each item varies depending upon the item's relative value.

Rare drop table - Occasionally, a creature will have a drop table of more valuable items. To get onto this drop table, you must first 'roll' to land on it from the main drop table.

Second drop - Some creatures also have a second drop. So far, this only consists of charms used in Summoning.

Quest drops - in some instances, a creature will drop a quest-specific item (e.g. the unique bones required for the Rag and Bone Man or Fur 'n' Seek quests).

On most creatures' drop tables, there is a small chance that instead of receiving an item from its own drop table, you will instead get a roll again on the 'rare drop table'. The rare drop table contains some of the more exclusive items in the game, including, but not limited to, dragon items, certain rune items, shield halves, key parts and uncut gems. The rare table also contains 'empty slots' - the end result of landing on these empty slots is often referred to as receiving 'no drop' or 'bone drop'. We keep these slots empty for any future drops that we want to add to this table.

The rare drop table is shared between a variety of creatures - e.g. goblins, fire giants, most slayer creatures. A good way to tell if a creature has a rare drop table is if it is known to drop a half key; then it will drop other items from the rare drop table. There are, however, certain 'very rare' drops that are not on the rare drop table, because they are specific to certain enemies or enemy types (e.g. the draconic visage is only ever dropped by dragons; godsword pieces only by the God Wars Dungeon bosses) and it would not make sense for these items to be dropped by, say, a fire giant.

The ring of wealth comes into play whenever you are rolling on the rare drop table. Its ability effectively removes most of the empty slots, drastically increasing your chances of receiving an item from the rare drop table once you have been lucky enough to roll onto it. The effect of the ring of wealth differs between the enemies you fight. Adventurers who make regular use of a ring of wealth should find that they receive fewer 'no drops' than adventurers who do not, and, therefore, will receive more rare drops and, in the long run, gain more wealth. You will receive a message in your chatbox if the ring of wealth improves your drop from a specific creature.

The ring of wealth is not solely used to improve the drops from defeated creatures. It can also be used to give you a chance of the following:

Improving the items you get from catching kingly implings

Improving the items you get from urns in Pyramid Plunder

Improving your chance of getting the sceptre in Pyramid Plunder

Getting two gems instead of one while mining with the amulet of glory

It does not mention clues as one of the non-monster drops it affects. So no, it does not affect clues.

    Actually, it does.

15-Mar-2011 - Ring of Wealth, Shanties, Trolls and Dungeoneering

Weve got a bumper pack of updates this week including making the ring of wealth more useful, shanties recounting your previous piratical adventures, new-look trolls roaming around their renovated home of Trollheim, and a raft of gameplay improvements for Dungeoneering.

    Ring of Wealth

The ring of wealth has been a kind of lucky charm for RuneScape players for many years now even though its effects were limited, and the wealth it brought was of dubious value, many still chose to wear it for good luck. We have now improved it so that it will better increase your chances of receiving rare items from drops or clue scrolls, occasionally improve some common drops, and give you bonus items in a few specific pieces of content. Whats more, the ring will now also let you know when it has made a difference to your drops, so you can better judge how useful wearing one is for how you play.

More specifically, wearing a ring of wealth will slightly increase the drop chances of many rare items obtained from Slayer monsters and various bosses, as well as all clue scrolls. The ring will also increase your chances of getting better rewards and more items from various activities, including looting the Barrows chest, Pyramid Plunder (including sceptres and new 'jewelled statuette' loot), taking out Bork (guaranteed improvement to his drops), catching kingly implings, and further improving your chances of receiving gems while mining (if also wearing a charged amulet of glory).

Additionally, we have added two teleport destinations to the ring: the Grand Exchange and, if you have finished the Throne of Miscellania quest, to Miscellania too. Rings of wealth can be recharged in the same ways as amulets of glory.

That's ambiguous though, does it mean it increases the chance of rare items from monsters and rare items from clues. Or does it increase the chance of rare items from drops, and chance of clue scrolls. It's not been confirmed which it is so really no way of telling. I've noticed no significant difference either way.
