  1. Dark, feral shapes have been seen stalking the outskirts of Burgh de Rott with terrible, unnatural swiftness, and rumours abound that Vanstrom Klause himself is at large once more. Veliaf and the rest of the Myreque have taken note of these ill signs and fear an imminent attack. Safalaan has been pre-occupied of late and, outnumbered and ill-equipped as they are, the Myreque must turn to you for assistance once again.

To do this, you must enter the baroque streets of Darkmeyer; the vampyre city. With help from an unexpected source, you must infiltrate the upper echelons of vampyric society to locate the last remaining blisterwood tree, which lies heavily guarded in the city’s dark heart and whose branches are the bane of even the most powerful Vyrewatch.

Once you have done so, you’ll be able to create weapons that will end this looming threat before all is lost, and will put the Myreque in a better position to end their war once and for all. You may defeat the foe that lurks in the shadows, and the rewards may be great, including experience tomes, new weapons and an item that teleports its bearer to the Barrows, among other places, but will the end really justify the means?

  2. I just hope they don't try any more gimmicky control schemes, they've really ruined the vast majority of the recent quests for me. Always sluggish and awkward as the engine wasn't build for them but given I think the last 5 quests or whatever have all had gimmicky things it wouldn't surprise me.

  3. Shark Tooth Necklace (Shark Teeth from Trawler)

    "Effect:

The heal over time effect given when a baron shark is eaten works for an additional 5 seconds.

Eating a shark has a chance to heal an additional 20 life points.

5% additional Fishing XP boost when fishing for sharks.

    "

Stats aren't great but that 5% additional xp from shark fishing isn't too bad. Need 5 shark teeth + thread and requires 91 crafting to make.

The shells gives 60% additional xp in the next game (one does just you, another does 10 people, clan mates first).

I have no idea why they didn't mention the new sceptre and the shields in the update, wonder if there's anything else they didn't mention?

  4. "Proximity chinchompas for use in Castle Wars."

    Worst update ever.

Barrows drops appearing in the log is awesome and hopefully they'll be adding more stuff to that soon (a few more clue rewards would be good when getting stuff instead of just finishing every one).

The Necromancer robes look awesome along with the hybrid armour, a shame that it's useless outside of those minigames but should be great in them. Also the method of getting them sounds great, very little "pointless" grinding and I imagine people will get them while going for other goals within the minigame.

The new spells seem somewhat useful although they idea of getting to 900k points in that horrid horrid minigame is not appealing at all so was disappointed there's absolutely no way to change how that works.

Ibis armour is awesome and I'll probably try and get that soon, need to get thieving up anyway so that'll help with that.

Tiger Shark is good I suppose although will be the same as Manta Rays and Sea Turtles in terms of amount it's used, unless the shells are decent enough to make people do trawler more.

Skull change is good I guess, although will encourage people to camp places (such as Penguins) as if people come back after dying to retaliate they'll be skulled. I imagine a lot of complaints coming soon from players who've not read this update (the fact that it's hidden away in a dev diary isn't good for such an update).

But yeah, good update overall I think, just disappointed the quest didn't come today, next week though :)

  5. You had poor security on your computer, that's your fault no one else's and because you share a computer with someone else (I thought you lived alone or with your girlfriend?) means you should be smarter about your security in general. For someone who claims to know a lot about things such as hacking to have such a stupid security question on your email accounts makes me laugh. Also, if your emails had been linked to your RuneScape account your account could have been taken that way too, so is adding emails to RuneScape accounts as big as a security issue as Facebook too? Then why aren't you complaining about that?

And you think the average 12 year old kid that plays runescape has great computer security notions? I don't get your point.

Seems more like a poor attempt of a personal attack than a reasonably sound argument.

Nope, I don't. Which was my point that Facebook doesn't add any less security when the people that are likely to have been "hacked" previously most likely used to the same password on other sites so if their computer gets compromised it doesn't really matter if their account is linked to Facebook or not. Then Wicked gave a perfect example of another reason why Facebook security doesn't make much difference when if his email had been connected with his RS account it could have been taken just as easily. Along with his email would have been things such as RuneScape payment receipts and most likely access to other sites and possibly passwords through there. Pinning bad security on Just Facebook is silly.

  7. I just did it myself. It does store your RuneScape username and password into your browser. So you could take their RuneScape account simply by taking their Facebook account, or simply retrieve the saved password for RuneScape from their browser.

For current/old accounts sure, but for newer accounts I doubt it'll store the username directly due to it being Email based. Regardless the people that are likely to get their Facebook account taken are the same people who'd likely to have their RS accounts taken by other means, thus a pointless argument.

  8. What's bad about the Facebook login is that it's a massive security issue.

Without Facebook, no where will RuneScape ask, "Save Password?" to shorten logging in. Now, if someone has their Facebook set to automatically log them in or "Remember Me," you can retrieve the stored username and password from their browser. It's incredibly easy to get and decrypt saved passwords into Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome.

Seeing as I'd imagine the majority of RuneScape players use the same password for RS elsewhere it really doesn't change a whole lot. And I believe if you're signing up for an account through Facebook (and not linking to an old account) you don't get a username for RS and uses the email system I believe. Although not tried it myself.

And again, no one is forcing you to use it and really it being a security issue is no more of a security issue than pretty much every website ever.

  9. I don't see anything wrong with people using Facebook to login to RS with. What's wrong with that? Changes absolutely nothing for you, really nothing bad from it at all.

All the others I agree are an absolute joke and it seems each time it's getting closer to proper micro-transactions which will kill RuneScape in my opinion.

On top of that the updates this year have been terrible with little content actually worthwhile long term. Unless the remaining 4 months of the year have fantastic updates I can see this being the worst year ever in RuneScape history.

  10. I just got a 24/H mute in GAME for spamming the middle finger ASCll art on the FORUM. I literally lold irl. Whatever happened to forum bans - I didn't do anything in game lmao.

Still the same account. If you're being a complete and utter moron on the forum then they're within their right to mute your account in game too to prevent you from being a moron there.

  11. It better comes with an update to livid farm itself.

Yeah, it'd be nice if there was more than 5 minutes of actual content in Livid farm. It's currently one of, if not the, worst bit of content in the game. At least all other mini-games require at least a bit of skill to do even if they do feature hours of grind (like Artisan's Workshop, making the swords requires some skill). Livid Farm has just nothing, it's a complete joke.

  12. Day9 + DJWheat is an awesome combo too, shame Wheat won't be at MLG next week meaning Day9 is casting with Husky I think it is :(. But at least Tastosis will be there to make it good.

DJWheat is awesome in general actually, you should definitely watch his shows on OneMoreGame.Tv Kings of Tin is especially awesome

  13. The whole Mort Myre area seems really graphically outdated so I'm glad to see them improving it from the teasers given. I liked Temple Trekking and the reverse minigame and the improvements look like I'll like it even more, but it doesn't look as though they are doing much to the rewards (I hope I am proved wrong) - I abruptly stopped after rushing for Lumberjack as I got sick of coming across the same puzzles all the time. :P

I wonder if some of the other minigame changes will come out with this?

They said in the BTS that you'll be able to choose your reward, not sure if that'll change how you get Lumberjack but it wouldn't surprise me if they changed it.

  14. The fact they said you CANNOT work towards those rewards to me implies it won't be chests or shade burning the actually gives the items as quite clearly we CAN work towards gathering shade remains and keys

It seems to be like it's separated into ones where you collect points and ones where you don't for the rewards so it's possible that you can work towards it in some way (stock up on supplies etc.) but not in the way Jagex sees it.

  15. Temple trekking is a few years too late.Going to wait and see what they do with the area. If the companion only gets xp if it fights it'll suck. Would be easier if it got a certain amount of xp for each successfull crossing.

    I know a sheep's going to be happy.Moo.

It sounds like it levels up (or gains experience) each time you successfully complete and minigame.

Could potentially be an interesting way to gain Runecraft exp etc. as you'll be able to chose your reward. Although I doubt even then it'd be more than 30k xp an hour or whatever.
