    Questing Machine

    Completed a lot of quests today, to break the monotony of SC games:
     

    Defender of Varrock (can't turn it in yet, it'll roll combat to 90) [image added later]
    Pretty fun, actually. Loved the cutscenes, and the attack on Varrock.
     

    Easy. Killed the bug at the end with my rune pick.
     

    This one was a bit harder. End battle was difficult without prayer, but thanks to Rockfish I made it safely.
     

    Not a problem here. Expected the last boss to be hard, but really getting TO him was the hard part. Trolls in multi-way combat wouldn't leave me alone.
     

    Very easy.
     

    Long, but funny! Great quest - looking forward to learning more about Rabid Jack!
     

    Pretty annoying going back and forth to the hideout, ESPECIALLY at the end. But hey, now I can do bloods.

    Astrals and Gargoyles

    Done entirely by astrals (and a load of deaths when repairing pouches).
     
    That's 81k Astrals made, which is enough for 96 mage stringing amulets (102k -> 97, 129k -> 98, 159k -> 99).

    Charms: 9, 9, 5, 10
    Notes: I expected these to be bad, but they weren't. They range easily, are easy to get to (Chaos Tunnels), and drop stackables. I look forward to doing them again!

    Pretty boring - but I did get 33 gold and 3 crimson charms. A few ranarr, too!

    Yeah, no drops. Did Phirins in the shade tunnels @ Morton.
     
    Task 28: Harpie Bugs (64)
    Again, no drops. First time I've done them though.
     
    Task 29: Shadow Warriors (111)
    ~20 charms, a few gems and mith bars, but nothing cool.

    Finished my Aberrant Specters task - good drops! More than enough ranarr to cover the prayer pots, plus 2x Lava Battle and a Rune Full Helm. Clue too, but I haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

    Some RC, Some Slayer

    Had a nice quiet night at home - got home, helped the wife make some very nice split pea soup, cleaned up, and then played RS for a little while.
     
    I decided to start on the mountain of Astrals I have to craft. I did four "sets" of runs. I define a set as the time it takes for a freshly repaired Giant pouch to degrade again. I think that's roughly ten trips to the altar, which I count as 500 essence. I then make an Abyss run to repair them.
     
    Up until today, I would make a load of laws while at the Abyss. However, now I'm doing Deaths to avoid the annoyance of ditching my armor and mud staff.
     
    After ~2k essence, I figured I'd take out my Slayer task. I had somewhere between 150 and 200 Banshees from Summona, so I hopped in the well in the desert and tucked myself into the safe spot. It's amazing how fast a cannon tears through those Mighty Banshees. Drops were nice, too - 700ish pure essence, loop half, clue, 6 ranarr, and 40 odd charms (mainly green). If I hadn't cannoned, it would have been profitable. Heck, it might have been anyways.
     
    Clue sucked, of course, though it was only 2 emotes and 1 Sara Wizard.

    I have the gold ore for 90. I was going to do Adamant Plates, but gold ore is so much more AFKable.

    A day off...

    Sometime on Saturday, I re-injured my lower back. Not sure how, but experience tells me the smallest thing can set it off. This is the worst it has ever been, meaning I sat in a chain in pain all Sunday. Missed church, dang it!
     
    So, I played RS. I decided to quest. I must have done ten quests! All novice quests except Wolf Whistle are done, all Intermediate except Spirit of Summer are done. 256 QP! "Only" 22 quests left, several of which I can't do due to lack of Summoning.

    2000 Total

    So, I got 2000 total tonight, 88 combat. I invited everyone, but only my (real life) friend Ard Choille came. I can remember when I got 99 FM and like 50 people came. It was awesome :-)
     
    Guess that's what I get for taking a two year hiatus. Oh well. :-)

    New playing style

    I'm trying something new - and that's treating RS like a game, and not a job. I still have goals, but I'm tackling them in whatever order I feel like. That means doing things that, GASP, might not be the best XP, XP at all, or an inefficient use of money.
     
    I've fished some Rocktail. I've hunted Pawya and Grenwall. I've made extreme potions, and used herbs that I could have sold (since I don't need the xp). Soon I'm going to do a solo KBD trip.
     
    I'm having fun, more fun than I've had in RS for a long time.

    A little questing...

    Today, I decided I wanted to do the new Elf quest. I hadn't done Catapult Construction, so I knocked it out in a hurry and moved on into the Light quest. It's exciting! Looks like we might get access to the Elf city next time! The quest itself was relatively short, though challenging. The puzzle was enjoyable, and this time the shades weren't horribly annoying (like in ME2).
     
    I also got 97 WC, but there's nothing to see there.

    Mining, plus slayer

    Mining and slayer today. Got 85 mining, did a 120 Kurask Task (Summona). Drops: White Top, Leaf-bladed sword.
     
    Started 130 Aquanites task, ACK! They're hard at 88 combat. Done about 40, no good drops.
     
    Nice to get props at Aquanites, what with me being low combat and wearing a Herblore cape.
