okay I downloaded the realtek thing and it still doesn't seem to work. I wonder if the speakers on the computer physically died out? But when I plugged a head phone to it, there still isn't any sound. So.. *frustrated*

The thing is, my sound card or whatever it is doesn't seem to work. I guess i'll have to install it back but i don't have the CD whatsoever. So hmm do you think I can download it somewhere? or hmm any other solutions? Oh and I'm using Window XP help appreciated! thanks ~ady

okay, I removed the entries you mentioned. but how do I uninstall my norton? there isn't like.. an uninstall icon or something. or do i just delete the whole norton antivirus folder under program files? AND, how would I be able to install it back? Sorry for the stupid questions :oops: and thanks for the help so far!!

Lately my internet explorer has been acting weird. it says i'll need a certain version of IE if i were to browse that certain website. and i'm pretty sure my IE version is 6+ -which i double checked on help>about internet explorer version: 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.050301-1526 cipher strenght: 128-bit product ID:55736-278-3912193-04599 update versions:; SP1; Q810849; Q813951; Q828750; Q330994; Q824145; Q832894; Q837009; Q831167 When i go to, say, hotmail.com? it says my IE version is not high enough, that i must have at least IE 6+. do you think it's possible that i might have messed up with some settings and caused this? i'm reaaaally lost help appreciated
