I'll defend the win, I watched it again today and I still get the same feeling I get every time I see it. Imo it is the best movie I have ever seen.

It's great to know that there are people posting here who think that a stampede of 5000 rioters against a whole race for the actions of a few leb people is not racist. But hey, lets randomly slaughter some aboriginals and steal their children and put them in white families to eradicate the race, because according to the Australians of mid 20th century, that is fair. I guess the riot is just a mild example of that :roll:

That's because it IS a racial attack on them. I even see some racists posting in this topic. I'm half Italian, half Australian, I am unbiased in this matter. I live in Melbourne western suburbs btw, but here is my opinion. A few Lebanese bashed a couple of lifesavers, ok. Aussies don't like the Lebanese, Lebanese don't like the Aussies, ok. The Aussies are telling the Lebanese to get out of "their land" (ironic, weren't they the ones who nearly destroyed a whole race, stole all their land and took away a whole generation of their children in the 1950's?). Lebanese are Australians too, and the racial slurs and the amount of property damage that the 5000 Australians caused to the Lebanese outweighs ANYTHING that the Lebanese have ever done. All I hear from the Aussie side is that Lebanese always rape Aussie women, threaten them with stabbing and act tough everywhere. So Australians don't rape people too? Australians have never made a threat to stab someone? If we could pull out some statistics it would show that more Australians have raped people as there are about 100x more Australians in this country than Lebanese. I live in West Melbourne as I stated earlier, I know a lot of respectable Lebanese people. Of course there are some bad Lebanese/Turkish gangs, but there's lots of bad australian gangs too.. My take on this whole cronulla situation is that the 5000 people who attended the riot are racist. For the acts of a few lebanese immature men, they are taking it out on the whole race and their whole community.
