  1. Whoever thinks if rares don't exist, the price of raw materials will increase. Those people are morons. The people with the money to buy rares, instead of buying raw materials for say double or triple the amount, they will buy double or triple the quantity. No one wants to pay more for something they can get cheaper. The idea of buying and selling should not be selling at a high price and making the most money, but to sell at a fair price, make a bit of a profit and have a happy customer. Think of it this way; CURRENTLY, Essence is stable around 20gp from what I have seen. To afford full rune (200K), I would have to sell 10k ess. This is fair. But if I buy ess at 12gp each, no one will sell, and if I re-sell at 30, no one will buy. And that is excluding the possibility that full rune won't be sold at 250k. This is the reason, no f2p NON-MERCHANT/PKER/HACKER/SCAMMER will ever get blue phat. EDIT: The economy is unfair to F2P and new players (member or otherwise). Unless you currently have say, 50 mil, your chances of getting a phat are near non-existant. Unless you merchant/pk/hack/scam/go to a elder players retirement drop party or meet someone extremely nice, you are never going to get a rare. The economy won't support something like that. A while back everyone on the forum laughed at a noob who wanted to collect 1 million yews. It was impossible taking into account the amount of time needed to actually GET them. Then it occurred to me. RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND, you would need to sell 1 million yews to buy a blue phat, but by the time that poor noob got 1 mil yews (if ever) he would need like 1 billion. The cycle is viscious and unending when it comes to rares. By the time you have enough raw materials to sell for a rare at the price they are now, when you have the materials, the price will be triple. I now deem that "MK's laws of rares market". Viscious, unending cycle.
  2. My solution: give everyone about 6 months notice before Jadex makes them "only 1 per player". Just like the bunny ears, when you tried to get 2, you got a saying that said something like "you only have one head, you don't need 2". Do the same for party hats. Keep them tradeable, buyable and sellable, just limit one per player. What this will do is both lower prices (if you can only have one, no need to inflate prices to an extent no one would pay for them), and secondly allow for them to be spread out again. As it was intended to be. In my personal opinion, no matter WHAT Jadex does with rares, it is bound to piss people off. I say that as both an owner of rares, but as someone who follows the economy.
  3. Alot of cash -> high prices of items -> new players don't get their fair chance to get them items -> new players don't like the game because it takes too much effort -> no new members. Wouldn't that lead to the inevitable Merchant VS Skiller debate though? If you can't make enough money fast enough to buy high priced items, work for them. Any skiller with level 30 mining has a VERY profitable way of getting their hands on GP. Or anyone who has completed rune mysteries. Or 60 woodcutting. Or a decent combat and pk's/has a good training spot. Fish lobbies. Crafting. Runecraft. All very good ways to make cash. Greed has just led too much to wanting stuff now for cheap instead of working for it and earning something. Like me for example; I want a green p hat. That is my ultimate RS goal. I have almost 5mil cash, santa hat and full rune. I can cut yews, mine ess, mine mith, smith mithril chains, high alch and I am entirely self-sufficient. I know I don't have much, but I play about 10 hours of RS a week, so I figure I'm not doing too badly. Above all else, what member is going to complain when a dust devil drops a 25mil dragon chain? Are they going to complain the price is too high? Of course not, they will either wear it or make the fastest 25mil they've ever seen.
  4. It is an indirect money drain. P2P sells to F2P, getting F2P cash. They spend that cash on construction. Money now drained. Whoever said it was way easier for a member to get cash was right. A monster drop in P2P could be a 30 million gp dragon chain. Best F2P got is a 30k rune large. Why does Jadex want to drain all the money anyway?
  5. Isn't 1700 billion several trillion? What about construction, scams, hacks, pk's, deaths to NPC's, glitches, trips to Karajma, low-alchemy, drop parties, lost/dropped, lumbridge/al-kharid gates, quest items from NPC's, buying strength potions, selling stuff cheaper than it normally is (face it...inflation/deflation play a big part of this. If I sell rune plate for 75k, and Oziach sells it for 84k, thats 84k not getting drained...) We can also never forget what happens when we invest in rares.
  6. LMFAO!! Seriously, I've had too much Dwarven Stout.
  7. Could someone post a pic and possible stats? As soon as I heard this I was instantly intrigued to get P2P. If the drag is cool, I'll go through with it.
  8. I played alto. I waaaaaaaaaay prefer tenor. Been playing 5+ years.
  9. The Christmas Drop one actually seems possible...I like it!
  10. green phat and full camo I would have said mime mask and rubber chicken, but I already got those.
  11. EDIT: removed, comp lagged and I clicked too many times. My bad.
  12. How much for the green phat?
  13. OMG you rock dude how are you doing that? I call shinanigans. The upper right hand corner says value earth runes, but your mouse in on the pumpkins. Devious I say.
  14. Santa. The wearer got oned to death by a swarm at edgeville yews.
  15. What we would use is some more bank space, we are getting full of random event items, but we can't complain, just some weeks ago they gave us 2 nice F2P ONLY updates: New treasure trails, and Wise old man stuff.[/b] What wise old man stuff??????????? :? :? :?
  16. There is no way to really stop it...
  17. You already did. You said something first. Didn't your momma ever tell you "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?" I mean honestly. Let's all just get back to our normal lives now, no need to get bent out of shape.
  18. You may think that you are being largely cunning with that statement, but you are the exact opposite. My sig opposes the head-strong and rude comments of discriminatory and biased players who do not play for the sake of enjoying their time, they play for the sake of ruining everyone elses fun. My post makes sense. Regardless of what you think, that is IFyou did before you said something, you would realize it too. Making ess useless to P2P, and pure ess unavailable to F2P means decline is ess sales and an exponential jump in pure ess prices. Who wants to pay 100gp to craft a 200gp rune, when no less than 24 hours ago could make that same 200gp rune for 25gp? That is your problem Bubsa. You think you are King $h!t and act like you own these boards because you played since RSC, have 6000+ posts and have your cute little child songs. I myself, think you are a small minded individual who can not think outside the tiny little 15 inch monitor displaying runescape in your bedroom in your mothers house when you are all alone in the dark and you like to fondle yourself because you have a phat. Good for you Bubsa. No one cares. Your comment is unnappreciated, and I think your posts are largely ineffective and a waste of time. You cut other members down because you got a head so big only you are allowed to say whatever you want on these forums. Unlike people like Raichase, Neogeo, Zubedoo, Forsaken Mage and a few short others, you display everything I wish no one would ever be; a self centred, elitist clique sycophant. Now Bubsa, go back to peacefully fondling yourself over your own big ego, over-inflated big head, pixel phat and low IQ. How did you own me, Bubsa? With that little remark? You wish. You didn't own me, so shut up and stop posting. I hope a swarm of noobs eats you. Say some witty noob remark to me, I dare you.
  19. Ess. Pure Ess. Pissed merchants. Poor F2P. Unmotivated P2P. Just think of the chain. If F2P ess is cheaper, but useless to members, F2P players lose many profits for buying rares, better armour, mass quantities of resources etc. If pure ess raises in price, nats raise in price, yew logs raise in price, flax rasies in price, bow strings raise in price, yew longs raise in price and ALCHING STAYS THE SAME, meaning, LESS PROFIT! Less profit means players who will avoid getting into the fletching scene and woodcutting scene and runecrafting scene and mining scene. Therefore with at least 4 skills being useless to a merchanter, PEOPLE ARE GOING TO GIVE UP P2P. Good going Jadex, in your galactically handicapped attempt to kill off macroer populations, you inadvertantly lost many players.   Add that to your long list of accomplishments    Jadex.
  20. You all need to read the update again. In it is says: "We also track trades so we can ban the recipiant of the illegally obtained items" HOW IN THE HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW WE JUST TRADED WITH A MACROER AND GAMBLE WITH OUR ACCOUNT??? They need to fix this. It is not possible for people to know that one character is a macroer and another is a legit player. Unless Jadex comes up with a "I'm a macroer" symbol for all macroers to wear above their heads, I am never buying another piece of ess again!
  21. Coal is your friend.
  22. Happy Easter to you too my friend. :D
  23. Runecrafting. It's way easier to buy thousands of bones and bury them then it is to go to altars and make runes. :?
