  1. Thanks for the tips - I stupidly cut my tree down in 1st week !! & have been trying (on & off) for an impling since then in the hope of another seed drop.

So i'm not the only one? they really should have some more concrete warnings on that...

  2. so, if you barricade, all the damage barricade blocks would be damage mitigated.  ditto with devotion, etc.  When I suggested the hiscore I knew Jagex would know what I meant, but I was hoping they would explain it before polling.  As is, it has no chance to win lol.

Isn't it kind of flawed anyway? What you probably meant was damage avoided by defensive abilities, but as is, damage avoided by armor, defense level and special effects(levi, spirit shields) should also count, although i don't think jagex can easily track all that.

  3. My brother used buyable death lotus armor and death lotus darts(these only require 92 fletching). I'm not 100% sure on t80 ranged weapons, but with vamp aura it should be fine combined with soul split healing.

  4. One option is to do kree which tops at around 450k ranged xp and 5m gp an hour. It's quite relaxed with death lotus+ darts/asc/nox, but should also be doable with t80 equipment. My brother did 91-99 ranged and 90-99 defense there in a rather short period.

  5. That gold accumulator is looking more and more worthwhile

Only problem is that you are paying one dungeoneering token for every 17 gp picked up. In comparison, the price when recharging chaotics is one token for every 90 gp. I still won't be picking up much of anything at dark beasts since the drops are all spread around too evenly.

  6. Yeah, next thing they are going to do is have monsters drop noted bones... oh, wait, dagannoth kings already do that... I'm also quite bitter about herbicide as some people have mentioned. It's as though they have no idea about any previous updates they've made and are constantly just winging it with the items they put on drop tables making absolutely no sense at all...

  7. Yeah, it definitely won't take many years. Just as an example, a recent pic from the screeny thread:

Preferred black dragon task... yum yum. Shame I can't always be on task at QBD.

    Aw90I5a.png

That is about 3-4 hours worth at QBD, which ironmen can easily do(bane+royal). And it's not as though QBD is the only monster with most drops as raw goods. The best ironmen will just power trough most skills everyone else does and gather resources from combat. I'd definitely guess under a year for when a normal ironman account gets 2595 total.

  8. Could someone please explain the general love for black dragons (i´m assuming QBD) and the general hate for greater demons (assuming kril here)? because, as far as i can work out, both are similar boss slayer tasks with similar length, profit and difficulty, however, one is absolutely terrible xp(QBD) and the other is just average in terms of xp (140k slayer and 400k melee).

In any case, could someone please be so kind as to list ~10 of the top morvran tasks in terms of slayer xp/h ?

Have to say it was wayy too hard with only 80 weapon that it was supposed to be I'd say, 20 hours before summoning update using this exact gear and 3 hours after summoning update to finally get it done, and even now I needed bit of rng of only getting 1 tormented demon and no glacors

Maybe you should have been using power armor instead of tank armor and it would have been tons easier? Anyway, as i couldn't try platinum challenge before(hadn't done one of a kind), did my first try at it with subjugation/chaotic staff. It's way too easy to even complain about. No armor switches or tricks necessary. I even got 2 glacor 2 TD(although TD's with steel titan are one of the fastest monsters).

Not everyone has money to spend for power armor, well void probably would have been option but I only have melee and range helm

Full sub is what? 15m, and you can sell it afterwards. And yeah, void is good enough(even slightly better than sub, actually). Using ports armor is pointless anyway(not as though you need the defense).

Another tip i'd throw out there, particularly after the recent update is to use a superior scrimshaw of magic, which provides 4% magic accuracy, which really helps when maging kalgerions/celectials/airuts. Another thing i did was to put a training dummy down in the lobby to get 100% adrenaline at the start of the fight.

  11. Well, they still attack just anyone that is attacking you instead of the opponent you are attacking. Ofcource, this can be advantageous, but in many cases it's not. I also found that if you have a helmet with scrolls and give the familiar some scrolls, the scrolls in the helmet will always be used first.

  12. This is nice and all but is there any place worth using the combat familiars. Where you don't 1-3 shot stuff, or use the pack yak?

There are alot of places, it just requires you to be better than just bringing a yak full of food everywhere. Blood nihil instead of yak for araxxor is a prime example of this. The 5% attack boost and added damage is definitely worth it over yak- if you can manage it. Particularly when you can bank in under 15 seconds with max guild.

  13. As far as i know, you don't get level 99 skills by only doing things once. Just as skilling requires repetition, so does pvm. You can also build up your pvm skills by going from a simpler monster to a more difficult one(say, graar->kril->qbd->araxxor). When you can easily farm the former one, move on to the more difficult one. Say, just like first doing mage shieldbows and then moving on to elder shieldbows for fletching.

  14. I wouldn't say they've always been cosmetic. Atleast as far as the first 2 releases are concerned anyway. Robin/ranger boots/mage boots/3rd age coif/3rd age amulet/3rd age shield and 3rd age mage hat were all BIS when released. 3rd age armor is still the highest level nondegradeable tank armor as far as i know. I might be really biased because i've never cared for fashionscaping for the least, but the last release of TT rewards as well as this one seem to be going the wrong direction.

  15. Really, if you think about it, the degrading to dust mechanic versus being only repairable for a proportionate amount of the goods used to make the armor, it makes no difference at all for an untradeable item. I absolutely hate how so much focus is being put into cosmetic overrides instead of, say, making actual updates. Why not give us something, anything, say... USEFUL from treasure trails? Because after ranger boots and robin are no longer BIS, there is nothing. No cosmetic item will ever get me to do clues again.

...Eh? Runescape was a very simple and slow-paced game until a couple of years ago. It had a fairly large population of disabled and even older players because of that: you didn't need to do anything twitchy to be competitive. That's the same reason EoC was such a huge issue, even: it turned Runescape into into that kind of MMO when it wasn't one before, and a fair portion of the players that jumped ship then were those that just couldn't keep up.

Having played the game over 11 years, i can't say that's true at all. RSC was clearly pvp focused and the pvp mechanics were quite advanced(catching etc). Similarly, the start of rs2 was also pvp focused with even more advanced pvp (special attacks etc). Over time, the game has become pvm focused, and the general pvm tactics have generally stayed the same, although there are more varied challenges. To me, because pvm is such a significant part of the game nowadays, it's laughable how simple the comp requirements for it are. And again, remember, comp isn't for everyone.

  17. The reasons being brought up against PvM requirements for comp are, to me, all reasons why a comp cape should never have existed. People feel entitled with the cape. They feel that having one is a must and that everyone should be able to have one. To me, that is just not the case. Lets be honest- it's just a glorified cosmetic item. It doesn't mean you are particularly good at the game, just that you've completed most of it. I see no reason at all why everyone should have one. The game is designed to have fun, not to complete it, and not everyone enjoys all parts of the game in order to complete it. That's solely the reason i will never even bother getting one. If PvM is not your thing, do you really have to spend time doing something you hate for a cosmetic item? No you don't.

I really hate how somehow this thread turned into a discussion about people with disabilities. I think it's extremely disrespectful to bring that up here.

Then what? Shovelling away a group specifically because it has disabilities is in my eyes disrespectful. Especially when it might be a valid concern.

Some disabilities does restrict certain content. For example, I found myself unable to do fight caves properly in pre-eoc due to that big importance of hearing the sound to determine the attack that Jad will do. As a near deaf person, I couldn't hear it and hence was almost always defeated without even seeing the healers. Back then, the animations happened after the sound, so for the best reaction, most players relied on the sound.

And really, what this thread boils down to is: Can someone who hasn't killed vorago ONCE say they've completed the game. To me, the answer is obviously no.

So you would propose making "The Final Boss"  a comp requirement? Surely killing it a hundred times must be?

For the first part, a game can't be designed with a certain or a group of disabilities in mind unless it's for that specific group. If the game itself isn't designed with this in mind, then expecting comp to still take it into account is idiotic. Also, i never play rs with sound(as it sounds horrible, obviously) and have never had any problem with anything within the game so you are just grasping at nothing there.

The final boss title doesn't specifically add anything on the reaper title beyond repetition so I do think one should be a trim and the other a normal comp requirement. Doing ''some'' PvM for comp would be the same as maxing ''some'' skills for it. Killing every boss once means you've completed that part of the game, just as getting all 99s(and a 120) means you've maxed skills.
