  1. I know that they can be wielded, but can you use them? (like killing things with dragon weps) And if your membership runs out?
  2. Ok, I have a Mac with the latest OS and Java, but sometimes after a game update, when I try to load the game over a wirless connection, the computer freezes in the middle of the loading. However, when I connect the computer to the internet via an ethernet cable and then load the game, everything works fine after that, even with a wireless connection. This has happened several times with the same result. I use Firefox and the internet conncetion is DSL. Oh yeah, and the wirless adapter is D-Link DWL-122. Thank you if someone could help.
  3. To reiterate what people have said about punishment in schools, it is a complete joke: in my school, techers don't even raise their voice, they just give long speeches and expect jerks and morons to get better. The worst punishment is having to pick up trash or calling your parents. I think that instead of banning corporal punishment, governments should seriously implement it in schools, especially when parents side with their little brats. A nice hour of kneeling on gravel or writing things 500 times would serve them right. Also, they should immidiately remove problematic children to military schools so they don't affect other children. (Hm, imagine how fun it would be to get this law through Congress! ) And about punishing criminals this way, it's not actually that bad of an idea, public flogging putting people in the stocks were quite effective methods. (instead of prison, where they get free food, medical care, and a warm place to stay, at the expense of the honest taxpayers)
  4. Look, if a black person and a white person with exactly the same grades and SAT scores both applied to a college with affirmative action, the black person would be accepted, because black people, as a race, are too stupid to get an education by any other means, and if there are'nt any African Amercians in the school, it will be viewed as racist. This at least, is the presumption of AA. And besides, if black people are so disheartened by "White Privilege", why don't they just move back to Africa, where no one will judge them by their skin color, and get blown up in one of the civil wars? It's not my fault that rednecks are stupid, I shouldn't be at a disadvantage to applying for college. (when I do apply of course, which will be in some time). And also, prejudice is based on fact: homeless people, mentally ill people, and disfigured people could also argue that they are being discriminated against; predjudice is a self-preservation mechanism, we steer clear of people that we think may harm us. It is up to black people, as a group, are the only ones that can change this, with of course help from the media and government. I think the government has done its part: massive MLK day education inititives (I at least have been learning about civil rights since kindergarten), food stamp programs (only to be used for drugs and weapons), and yes, affirmative action. Clearly, none of these have helped, and it is up to blacks to get their act together and convince their less law-abiding counterparts to stop being that way. Unfortuantely, statistics do show the inordinate proportions of minority criminals, it is only in their power to change that.
  5. Your example from earlier on about the Hispanic being just as qualified as a white person, even though they have a lower GPA and SAT scores is completely irrational. How are they qualified if they have bad grades!?! Maybe grades are more subjective, but standardized tests where everyone is subject to the same standards are as level of a "playing field" as posible. Also, from a historical perspective, your portrayal of whites as ruthless racist slave owners is quite absurd. Ironically, it wasn't the Europeans who thought of slavery, Africans already had an extensive tradition of slavery long before any Europeans arrived on the continent. Also, Europeans rarley ventured inland to actually capture slaves, they just traded tribes who were happy to capture their neighbors and bring them to coast in exchange for trinkets. On another note, early on, the "playing field" was quite level, nothing was preventing Africans from developing superior weaponry and enslaving whites! It is just how history played out and there is nothing you can do to change it. However, now that we live in a modern society, we should work to respect each other and eliminate racism, as with all other hate, but reverse discrimination is not the way to go. Affirmative Action admits that certain races are inferior to others! It's what's inside your brain what matters, not the color of your skin. And yes, there are some conditions, such as poverty, that inhibit from getting as good of an education as others, but that is a problem that the governments should try to solve. And even then, America is a relatively free country and children can go to any public school the want, if their parents enroll them. If they don't then it's their own fault and nothing can really be done. (There is a big debate about charter schools being elitist in my area) But even then, people can always learn if they really want to; if they're lazy it's their own fault once again. And poverty isn't that big of a factor either, just look at those rappers and NBA players that make a lot more than many white people; even with a huge salary, they choose to remain ignorant and live like a "gangsta'" (I'm sorry, but not killing and raping people is universally regarded as common courtesy, not just the invention of weird white people). This behavior crosses racial lines: white filthy-rich brats going around vandalizing things immitating the "gangsta's" So, white people choose bad role models just as much as black people. People should be offered equal opportunities, but if they choose to not take advantage of them, it's their problem and the other racial group should not be penalized. Even in my school, there are African Americans, and they have the opportunity to take the exact same clases as me, and it's not my fault that they drop out. Of course, that is not to say that there are white dropouts, there are many. Maybe the best solution is to make special schools for stupid/lazy people and force them to be there until they learn the same things as everyone else! Then, no one could complain that some people have more of a chance than others. Of course that would be impossible, because that would be restricting personal freedom to make 40-year-olds to go to school. And, then everyone would have to be as smart as the smartest person on the planet, which is impossible, becuase there will always be relative stupidity. Also, it strikes me as interesting that it is here, in a country that values individual acheivment so much, that Affirmative Action is present, a policy that basically contradicts the notion of free enterprise and that "if you work hard, you can achieve anything". (I don't think it's in many other countries). In short, I believe that we need to eliminate racism through education and understanding, not create more of it with affirmative action.
  6. Ok, for those people who are saying that it's more realistic to have to drink in the desert and that it makes sense that the mine should have it too, you need to realize that Runescape is just a game. Your character won't die if he doesn't eat (unless you're injured, which doesn't really make sense either), he doesn't have to go to the bathroom, and he "respawns" when he dies. (same with monsters) Now imagine if all of these things actually were in Runescape. And besides, why does skill training have to be so dang hard? Jagex never probably intended for powerskilling anyways, but otherwise it takes impossible lengths of time. Some people can't be on 5 hours a day. (I for instance, have been palying for over 2 years now, but I got level 50 in a skill for the first time just over a month ago.
  7. Or maybe you just logged in less than 24 hours later, even though it was the next day.
  8. It must have been a different thread, the quick find code for this one is 27-28-47-37775457
  9. Actually I was reading a rant on the official forums, and the last post says that it was a bug and that it was fixed! Can someone confirm this?
  10. Is there any way to get around the desert effect without waterskins?
  11. My mining level is 51, would it be a good idea? Or should I stick to iron? (I'm currently only f2p so I don't know much about the subject, but I'm going to become a member).
  12. Ok, my problem is that since I did dragon slayer, my str and def are 40 so I have full rune, but I have only 38 att and a addy longsword. I tried to train on hill giants, but we both hit 0s and it took about a minute and a half to kill just one, even with a str ammy. Could someone suggest a good f2p monster with low def and high hp?
  13. Well, I'm mainly going to use it to train, so if I train on low-hp monsters, wouldn't a 2h be better? Esp. if I combine it with a strenght ammy?
  14. Well, becuase I don't want to waste money or risk losing it. Would it be better to use a shield instead of a 2h?
  15. What would be the best? (I have 40 Att, def, and Str)
