Dungeoneering Guide and Skills- Updates and Corrections
Vhellcat replied to Zaaps1's topic in Completed Website Corrections
Thank you (and you're welcome). I got this room again today. It seems that only a specific key will open the door(s) so you may end up thieving from all of them. The way only to kill the guards is by waking them (which I am guessing would happen if you ran through the room for sure - I have awaken them accidentally after thieving from them just by walking around trying to move through the room), by default they are snoozing ;) ~Vhellcat  -

[hide=Thanks!]Encountered a 'puzzle room' - or - something. LoL A room full of sleeping guards (with RS sound you can hear them snoring) and debris/trash on the ground. If you examine the trash it says something to the effect that running through it will make a sound. So - TURN OFF RUN. When you mouse over the guard there is a 'take key' option. You must be on the 'correct' side of the guard to take the key, otherwise it just tells you, you can't reach it from where you are. I took keys from all the guards, I thought I had to but I only needed 1 to unlock the door. On my way back out of the room through the door I entered - still walking - I broke something as I stepped onto the trash and the guards woke up - they use melee attack. They just dropped their bones for loot. In the above picture, I couldn't steal the key from the guard's right side, I had to steal it from the left side, I stole the keys from the other guards all on the left side. Since thieving is involved - I'm going to take a wild guess that if you're on a team - get your best thief to do this room.[/hide] Thanks ~ Lady Shahdie -

Tiers & Levels should not be confused - the Level is the requires summoning level to make the familiar - so many numbers! Sorry they are 'out of order', it's late and I summoned them as I got the ingredients. :P I summoned each of them on full points (94) just in case anyone wanted to check the summoning point cost to cast a pouch. I hope the picture is enough, if you need me to write out their name, and time then let me know and I'll do that later (sorry but I'm going to sleep now!) Thank you, Vhellcat -

It's been talked about among the crew, what's everyones thoughts on this? Perhaps do the titles in a hide/show format like you have for Quest guides? I find the titles amusing and look forward to seeing which ones I can get B) I'll also try to get more familiars times, do you need screen shot of each (that would just take me longer to do since I'm bad with putting pictures up :P ) -

The familiar times are incorrect - it varies - as mentioned in the previous post - I've had familars last 60 minutes, here are pics of 2 of them: Brave skinweaver, Tier 5, 30 minutes, 5 Summoning xp to cast Sachem Stormbringer, Tier 10, 45 minutes, 10 Summoning xp to cast Thank you, Vhellcat -
In notes it states: If you are fighting this monster and it disappears underground, move in any direction to avoid being hit 30hp of damage (prayer cannot deflect damage from this attack). Players without a jungle strykewyrm slayer task can still be hit by the 30 or 60hp attack. My experience - it is has to be AWAY from the wyrm, which might seem silly to mention but running past him as he's coming towards you - doesn't work. Perhaps it should also state move far away until it pops back up. "Move in any direction" - and maybe it's just me - but I thought 'side stepping' it a square or two was enough (it isn't.) As soon as this monster disappears into the ground as your fighting it, move far away from it. Thanks, ~Vhellcat

Hello, In the Tip.It Barbarian Assault Guide under Collector it states: Since the blue eggs only stun, a blue instruction is a good time to fill the hopper - then just pick up and destroy the blues you get to save room for red eggs in your pack. However since the update the blue eggs seems a bit more useful: Blue penance eggs now reduce the target Penances stats and deal damage. I didn't see a mention of the Penance Horn so here is what I wrote up: Penance Horn You can receive a free Penance Horn from Commander Connad (the same NPC you claim rewards from), if you have level 5 in any role you can receive a free upgrade to Penance master horn. It can be wielded in your shield hand. While wielding it you can right-click and choose call and it will make a sound and swirl icons above your head in roles you have level 5 in. You can choose to earn XP instead of Penance points by switching the statue in each wave waiting room from points to XP. This will fill up your horn (whether it is in bank or in inventory) with XP potential. This will allow you to earn double XP for firemaking with logs, mining ores or completing agility courses (Werewolf Skullball and Agility Pyramid are exempt). You can check by right-clicking and choosing: Check-potential which states: While equipped, the horn doubles the XP you receive. The amount you can use the horn to gain this XP depends on the activity and your skill level. Your horn is empty.* *This last sentence will change as you charge / use it. Thank you, Vhellcat

I play standard because I'm used to the menu layout and I don't like how the chat box is 'clear' in HD. Sometimes HD makes me queasy

In the Ranged Guide Broad-tipped bolts and broad arrows are missing. Broad-tipped bolts have a Ranged strength of +100 (makes them similar to Addy bolts) and can be used to kill Turoths and Kurasks. Broad arrows have a Ranged strength of +28 and can be used to kill Turoths and Kurasks. For: Worried that you will not have space to store all the bolts you plan to use? The Crossbow Bolt Pouch can be used to store up to 4 different types of bolts, in addition to the bolts you are currently using. ADD: The Pouch can only hold up to 255 of 4 different bolt types. OR EDIT: The Crossbow Bolt Pouch can be used to store up to 255 of 4 different types of bolts, in addition to the bolts you are currently using.

In the Blood Runs Deep quest guide it states: Under Daggermouth War #24: Below are the various colours she'll turn and the corresponding attacks you should use: * Grey: Any attack style * Orange: Melee attacks only (Balmung) * Green: Ranged attacks only * White: Air elemental spells only * Blue: Water elemental spells only * Brown: Earth elemental spells only * Red: Fire elemental spells only She STARTS off as grey and you CANNOT do ANY damage until you attack her with the Balmung FIRST. She starts off with a Melee attack as well. You will not get 'grey' as a color in the cycle after you begin the fight correctly. Thanks! Vhellcat

I concur with Maxmax - the mother DOES change attack style *eventually*.

In the skill guide for Hunter:Hunter Guide under Box Traps table it states: "Grenwall spikes can be sold at hunter shops or on the Grand Exchange. Alternatively, you can add feathers to them to make ordinary headless arrows." Perhaps it should also be mentioned that Grenwall spikes (x 5) plus a Ranging potion can be used to make the Level 92 Extreme ranging potion. Thanks  Vhellcat

Bork's guide Under Rewards it states: "The final battle with Bork can be repeated every 24 hours." and "You can simply enter the portal in room 1 again after the 24 hour time limit has expired." To fight Bork you no longer have to wait 24 hours. The timer was changed and now you can fight him once a day just like the Phoenix Lair. Remember the 'day' is based on Jagex's time not necessarily a day to you. For example, in my time zone, currently a new RS day begins at 7 PM. I can fight Bork at 11 AM and then again at 7 PM that same day for me, but it's a new "RS" day. Thanks! ~Vhellcat

For the level 2 boots you can also use it for a free lyre teleport once a day (won't count against your charges). Also note that if you use the boots to contact the Fossegrimen to charge your lyre - you will get one less charge than if you went in person to make the offering. While wearing the boots and going to the Fossegrimen in person, you will get two more charges than usual. This also works if you are wearing the Ring of charos(a) and use the charm to have the Fossegrimen accept a raw bass as a small shark which usually gives the lyre 2 charges but with the boots you get a total of 4 charges. =D>

Addition to Pyramid Plunder Guide

Which also uses up prayer points and the effect doesn't last as long as an anti-poison potion (which cures poison and protects you from poison for a limited time afterward that comes in handy with all the things that can poison you ;) ). -
Fairy Ring Map Fairy ring map shows a ring east of Mage Training Arena (in Al Kharid) with the code BIP - however this is an island and you cannot access the Mage Training Arena from this ring. Other 'islands' like AIR are on map but at least shows (Dead End) in the name. I suggest BIP be re-named Island (Dead End) - not Mage Training Arena. Thanks!

Pokemama, I wasn't aware until I was in game and noticed the jar in supplies first then the net. Then I thought I was on cloud nine with all the Pirate implings flying around! I was giddy with all the possible loot I was going to get for myself after the game was finished when I decided to go ahead and loot them right then and discovered these were *special* Pirate implings specifically for the Trouble Brewing mini-game  [crew edit: item pictures of butterfly net and impling jar were added to the items database. didn't get a pic of the pirate impling in jar - may be the same as regular but the others weren't.]
-
The notes on the pirate items that are attainable from Pirate implings state: No stat bonuses. Available in seven colours. Pirate implings can only be caught on Mos Le`Harmless, which can be visited after completing the Cabin Fever quest. Quest not required to wear. Pirate implings CAN be caught ANYWHERE other implings appear throughout RS. They are NOT just on Mos Le'Harmless. The following contain the incorrect information in the notes: Pirate Leggings -grey- Pirate Leggings -orange- Pirate Leggings -purple- Stripy pirate shirt -grey- Stripy pirate shirt -orange- Stripy pirate shirt -purple- Thank you, Vhellcat

Hello, I apologize in advance if this information is *somewhere* on the forums however I haven't found it under this sub forum so giving it a shot. _________ Trouble Brewing now has Pirate implings in the game to catch and jars and net available in the supplies. These Pirate implings provide items available within the Trouble Brewing Mini-Game such as bitternut, flower (red or blue), bucket etc... and even a steel hatchet! Catching the Pirate implings yield 15 Hunter XP. (Perhaps adding this under the In-game Experience table) *I noticed the guide didn't have a picture of all the supplies as is in the game, included that in case you find it helpful. I also included a picture of just the Jar and Net.* Thank you, Vhellcat
