Mainly because this quest's direction was the result of a PttP poll, so they're kind of stressing that. Although, one could argue that of the ones that cared overall they did want to face an elder god, since the final results were 37% - Researching the Elder Gods (49210 votes) 21% - Bik and the Oceans (27906 votes) 18% - Don't Mind/Not Interested (24145 votes) 17% - Ful and the TzHaar (23156 votes) 07% - Wen and the Dwarves (9934 votes) So, overall 45% wanted to face an Elder God right away, they just couldn't agree which. So while players did choose research and to start off low (my personal choice as well) its not at all obvious that the playerbase as a whole wanted another build-up like elves or zaros quest. The poll you are referencing was actually finding out how a particular god effects the world. They specifically were asking how the respective elder gods effected the environment and the races they created.

While i think you are exaggerating the issue i do agree that jagex should have beta servers for prereleases. They should do private invites based on players willingness to explore content and offer like-minded criticism.

Ironically that was their intentions with the crystal sandstone. They intended to have a few nodes for crystal sandstone and couple in the resource dungeon.

Crystal sandstone got nerfed from 50 to 25-30 and the resource dung location nerfed down to 1-5 i think. The maw is giving out perfect jujus too.

Looks like recipe 8 is going to be very annoying. Im 39 c1s dry on it. I am slightly curious if recipes depend on floor type? Edit: penny pet parts rarity provided by mod rowley: Dark soul from truthful (1/1000), dark mind from blissful (1/2000), dark body from manifest (1/3000).

On another note 4th recipe after 10 c1s, 5th after 18 c1s, 6th after 4 c1s and 12 c1s dry. Hoping to get at least 7 and 8 tonight when i get home from work. Also had a 1 moss harvest for two pillars each on max boost. 23 more moss i think. On a good note i have defense, magic and slayer pillars.

For people using the amulet of nature it will actually give you a notification that one of your pillars has fully grown, but rubbing it will only give you details on the pillar you attuned it to.

Why would that be a glitch? If the normal yield with no boosts is 1-8, that's a totally acceptable outcome. Then again, you can also get over 15 from one, too.Because with all the boosts the minimum harvest should be 3 moss i think.

Don't worry, it always takes two or three nerfs/un-nerfs to get the balancing just right. Only because Jagex is always the last people to know stuff about their own game. Their rational for nerfing the Moss Requirement is that it took way longer than any other requirement for Comp for Elf City. Really? They just figured that out now? Myself, and every other player in the game, were able to a simple calculation to determine that in 2 minutes, but apparently it took Jagex a week to figure that out. I wonder how long it will take them to fix Edimmus. You can currently camp them indefinitely despite the fact that they are supposed to be task only. To what real benefit though? I thought they offered neither good xp nor drops...Probably a pet drop or the blood shards.

There have been unsourceable talks about them making recipes more easily obtainable too.
