Those who are farmiliar with Zybez and Runescape Community will probably be farmiliar with W13's RuneScape movies. They were creative and mildly fun to watch, but he has been "working on a third one" for probably over a year now. My point is, he seems to be out of will power to continue production of the RuneScape movies. I have come to take up his position. Mine will come in the form of executables, but will have added features, including an interactive enviroment where you can walk around and talk to people. But, as I am no longer active in RuneScape, and unsubscribed long ago, and I am rather lazy, I must request screenshots. I am looking for screenshots that contain the following contents. The camera should be as low as it can go to maintain a common scale factor. -Player from front and side view. Mostly with newbie armor, but a few looking like experienced players. -Various assortment of trees -A "Connection lost. Please wait, attempting to re-establish" message (see, a slow computer can come in handy :)) I will get rid of anything I don't need more of, and add anything I think of. Just upload them and post them here. Make sure there are no people of other things in the way. I will have a credits list, and will put in anyone who helps gather screenshots. I suspect some people will doubt my ability to make the movie. Making a sample movie would be very time consuming, but here's a little image editor I made to show that I'm a capable programmer. EDIT: I'll just post a screenshot of it, contact me if you want the program. (Time of Death is the screenname I normally use) I'm sure a lot of people will consider this suspicious. I will do everything I can to ensure that everyone sees the content of the program is safe. First, I will have state something like this: You can run the program through any scanners you want, and if anyone finds something questionable, they can report it at their will. I will even go as far as to include a guide to tracking down keyloggers, with some links to trusted antivirus program sites. If you have any more ideas of what I can do, let me know. Thanks, -ToD

The lighting is rather exadurated. The models are decent, but too proportionate. The type you would use in a game if you were trying to minimise polycount, but not in a gallery. The perspective is also a bit off, but that can be blamed on that bad programming of 3DS Max. I much prefer Maya. The unlimited version is expensive, but very powerful. The renderings are fairly good, with the exception of the coffe. There's no light reflection in that one.

What would be the point of that? While reducing the number of negative comments on this thread, it would contribute to the clutter of the Media Board.

unknownmasterofnothing: Rules are meant to be broken. Here's my definition of rule: A standard commonly disregarded. Grandma: Well, he hasn't been on lately. It would be seemingly hard for one to change ones signature without being online. It doesn't take a rocket scientist....

Cruiser: The water is nice, but the lighting could really use some work. You should lower the gamma of the background, so the sun stands out a bit more. Far too bright. Jeepoz: Glad to hear that.... If only everyone could begin to understand as you have. Then again, the rants are what's been keeping this thread alive :)

The day we'll have flying islands in Rs that will be a sunset...however it's way 2 prespective oriented compared to my usual style...but i wanted to try something different...plus the requests involved a bigger field of view...and since i don't like small characters the solution was obvious. I had a full page of instructions for this sigs...plus a given pic for the armors. Nothing much i could do but follow the guidelines and add some nice (i hope) ideas. Oh and don't insult me... I NEVER WORK WITH GRADIENTS  That is a gradient.... A perfect vertical one.

How's that? What's bad about the backgrounds? I'm very experienced as a texture maker. Though the last background had small tiles which made it rather repetative, it tiled very nicely. It takes a lot of experience to make backgrounds tile like that. Also, I assure you your advice is not needed. I do use photoshop for many things, but it simply isn't powerful enough when it comes to texture making. They have no name. I programmed them for my personal use. I have had many many years of programming experience, and a lot of the software I use for various things was written by myself. So don't try to imply that I am a beginner. If you really want to have this debate, you should at least post some of your own work, or else there's nothing to support your arguments.

Luxor: tell me if there any any changed you'd like me to make. I thought you were done with this. Luxor is among the few that has been posting productively.

Its still a bit blocky though, could use some work.. Blocky? No offense, I know you we're intending to be negative as some were, but that reminds me of an old quote: Maybe you should re-arange the polygons to make it less polygon-looking. I might not have the best fonts, but it comes to modeling, I can honestly say I'm just about as professional as anyone. I have a more custom smoothed version in the game that was for, I just kept the unsmoothed copy because you can't de-smooth a model to lower the poly count.

Okay, I made many more examples, will post them in a minute As some of you noticed, the quality of my backgrounds were damaged because they were stored in JPG file format. This is because I am using a modified version of a SourceForge programmed texture maker, which doesn't support pings and other common file types. Bitmaps and JPGs are just about all I can make (gifs get screwed due to transparency issues), and bitmaps are not supported here. As for the comments regarding the ammount of debating over actualy work, I cannot be blamed for this. I am simply responding to the replies I get. And a guess what? Those who have posted such have also been contributing to this. -User/Daniel

They started it :P You will very rarely see me take a shot of someone who hasn't done anything to me. If I do, it's probably because they were picking on someone who wasn't about to fight for themselves and had no right to be.

Not understanding what you're trying to say. Please re-word.

I haven't seen any modeling, rendering, and animating going on in this forum, I think there are mostly just 2D artists, but okay.
-
Was that directed towards me? I enjoy contradictions. I spend much of my spare time on them. They are not as time consuming as modeling. I have won cash awards for my accomplishments in a colledge Speech and Debate program. They really get competitive, you have to be right on the spot. That is why I can present to you strong arguments without spending long thinking them out. I don't know how to point this out less bluntly, but I've been rather winning. Even though you've had several years to find supporters, and I have had none.

It wasn't detailed, I just had a lot of point I needed to make in order to counter the numerous insults being carelessly posted. I put no effort into a free signature? I was up late for hours last night getting good screenshots and photoslipping them in with my full moon background (I still need the archer). This is mainly about maturity. If this was you 10 years from now, we would be able to respect each other for our unique skills. But instead, you insist on critisizing in an attempt to keep your reputation. Morality is a quality, not a teaching. You are born with it to a varying extent; you cannot learn it from others. By the way, it's not called "pixeling", the quality of my sig is soley based on the limitation of Tip.it. Oh yes, of course. And mine would be much better if it weren't for the quality-lowering host I was using. Right.... Grammar? Welcome to the 21 Century, it's a little thing called "the digital world, online" This is quite amusing to listen to. When I point out your lack of maturity, you try to contain your arguments so they sound less random and more organised. When I point out your bad grammer, you suddenly start to guard your spelling a bit more. Who do you look up to online? Who do you consider nice, mature, and mentally developed? Do you see them using bad grammar? Likely not.

I made a sample banner. Notice the realism of the background. Try to make one like that, eh? It's also a customised font, and the text effects were done in the program I wrote.
-
I do my text with 3D modelers (and renderers, of course). Photoshop doesn't have a flexible shading system.

I am looking for a user that would be willing to render and animate some models for me. If I release any games containing those models, you will get credit as due. You should have a decent ammount of experience and a suitible animation program. Regards, -ToD

Any why not mension my previous works? After all, all completed works are previous. You see, there is something you will (hopefully) develop as you grow older called time management. A good, high poly model with manual smoothing can take weeks, even a month to make. Juging by your enthusiastic active postings I'm sure you would be willing to waste that much time to no productivity (if you had the perseverence). However, time is limited. I value my time, and am not willing to spend much of it arguing with young immature critics that have no knowledge on the subjects I'm trying to introduce. I would release this as a 3D file, but I'm sure you couldn't spell modeler, let alone own a decent one. So I decided to export it as a non-rendered 2D image: Your argument seems to fall apart when you look at the model. Strange, very strange. It just might be that those arguments aren't supported . Modeling is to make models. Models are the data groups that contain arrays and structures consisting of many polygon coordinates at a 3D perspective. Modeling is the job that requires the most experience. It is actually shaping the figures. It's hard to compete with any decent modeler. grandma_twinki seems to be respected around here for his pixeling, but can hardly be called experienced. Just look at those gradients in his sig. Did you miss the Texturing and Shadowing lessons at graphics school or what? And why did you use a JPEG? The low quality file format structure is quite noticable. Do you call that dark green? And there isn't any black other than the lineart. Try tinting that, then see how pretty it looks. Ah, so now you're admitting to the fact that you are an amateur? Use proper grammar so that I can understand what you're saying, then I will consider andswering to your requests. Now, if a competition is what everyone wants, I'm fine with that. But lets have less empty challenges and more art being shown. An unsupported argument is no argument. Regards, -User/Daniel

Did you read my above post? I have done modeling for huge project with companies like DreamWorks Interactive. Only the best of the best do modeling, 90% of them do rendering and animating. Pixel editing isn't my specialty, but I'm certainly not an amateur at it. Let me ask you this: How might it have been better? I did essentially exactly what he asked me. You make a texture like that, and you will be elligable for a debate with me. Until then, I expect no more negative comment on my graphic ability. If you have something to say, you will have to support it. I put a lot of work and talent into that texture. It's hard to make something dark green and black look atractive. I have Photoshop and such (and have been using it for many years), but I use a custom image editor I programmed myself for text effects for faster production speed. I also use some fonts I've made myself. It doesn't look too great because of the empty space. I could have shortened the background, but that would have ruined the edge blurr effect of the texture. I wasn't expecting these negative comments. I will upload a sample of my modeling work soon to put and end to this. -User/Daniel

It could use some more perspective; you can hardly tell if the orange gradient is lava or a sunset. The armor is also very awkward. Draw the knights with gloves, not run mittens. Other than that, looks good.
-
He asked for certain text with a facy font on a green and black texture. I did exactly that, and don't see how it could have done better. Whether I am to be considered profressional is debatable. I have done very high quality 3D modeling and rendering for large, organised companies. For that I can surely be considered professional. However, I have not done pixel art for any commercial games or programs. Banners are mostly pixel art with modeling occasionally involved. I have made banners for professional indie programmers, but not companies. So, as I said, it is debatable, varying based on definition and interpretation. Cuccurrumino: Please get me a screenshot of the ranger with full black dragon. And one with the head you would like sticking out of the bag. And a magic long bow I suppose. Thanks, -User

BakerSk8er and Don't Panick: Could you take some screenshots and send them to me? I'm not active in Runescape anymore, I just joined this forum to chat and make banners for users. So, just send me screenshots that contain a greater deamon from the angle you want it, a rune dagger, and a guy in full rune using a scimmy. If you don't have an image host you can use let me know, I'll hook you up with one.
-
Okay, I'm working on them. cucurrumino, yours might take some time.

I will do free signature making for the community. Programs Many users ask what programs I use, so I will list them here for anyone interested: -Photoshop -Pixia -Wings 3D -Anim8or -Text Effects -Unnamed 2D image editor made by me for personal use ...and a few others. Guidelines When requesting, specify the following: -Dimensions of banner -Type of background texture -Text to include -Type of font for text -Any additional images you want included If you request a character, be sure to tell me whether you want it graphically drawn from scratch or ripped from Runescape. Finished Banners/Samples: All finished banners will be edited into this post (so they can also serve as examples). Regards, -Time of Death
