To get to runecrafting 50 you need 41,534 xp. The fastest xp profitable way would be earth runes. 1. Mine 6390 rune essence. 2. Use earth tiara and craft the runes. 3. Sell the runes in the Grand Exchange. You can also buy the essence but that'll cut the profit.

Well I guess they're about the same a basilisk head, which I got during a slayer task (I rarely kill basilisks). Conclusion: I guess it's about the same as clue scroll or champion scrolls. You just have to get lucky..

Yes, you're simply unable to use/wield it. I've had a long long break in f2p due to lacking credit card.. Walked around with full dragon in my inventory for three years as a result. #-o
