Have to say, Tamim is exciting to watch. It's crazy how the innings folds after his wicket falls. India got dumped out of the tri-series, poor series really; just show that the bench strength is pretty weak. In saying that, Zimbabwe were good against India. West Indies continue to get hammered, seems like there's no reversal in sight.

No love for England? :P At the end of the day, the two most consistent teams played in the finals & someone had to win. Well done to England, first ever WC. So much better with the approach from the top rather than leaving it all to do for KP & others; a fit & firing KP is superb to watch. Hopefully, they build on this & replicate in all forms of the game. India? Oh look there's a bouncer! Disappointing performance really. How is everyone holding up? This topic is progressing at neck breaking speed :P

Losing the first test by an innings & winning the second test by an innings. Amends? They sure made amends with that performance. Winning with 9 balls remaining for the match to get over. Amla was crazy good. Sad to see Brett Lee retiring from test cricket. I think he was superb, a very likeable sportsman. But if he manages to prolong his career because of this decision then well & good, atleast we'll be able to see him in some kind of action. Is there anything that hasn't been said about Sachin? 200 not out in an ODI! Simply awesome.

Well done S.A. Pretty much thumped India in the 1st test. Outplayed as Dhoni rightly said. Seems like S.A do well when they're considered as underdogs; on occasions when they've been tagged as favourites, it hasn't turned out well. Time to make amends India! ;)

Oh Shahid Afridi what have you done ? "No I was just trying to smell it, how it is feeling" Shahid Afridi's initial response when asked by ABC whether he was trying to bite the ball Feb 1, 2010 Well, I guess there's no difference between smelling (why would you smell it anyway) & biting. :P "Perhaps he didn't appreciate the lunch he was given in Australia" Graeme Smith on Shahid Afridi's ball-gnawing act which resulted in a two-match ban Feb 1, 2010 It's probably one of those moments where you can't explain what you just did.

Awww, talk about anti climax. Forget about 400 but Sehwag didn't even reach 300. Ah well, with Sehwag there's always a next time. I thought Dhoni played superbly considering he had to play with the tail. Some of the sixes he hit, I wonder how he can generate that kind of power? One or two sixes were just short arm jabs but they were flying all over. Windies finally managed to put a decent total but Aussies have started pretty well. Asif is proving to be the thorn for NZ. 2 days left, still need 335 runs with 7 wickets remaining.
  7. Group G stands out from the rest but it should be a good fight for the 2nd spots in most of the groups; this is assuming that the seeded teams do well. Therein lies the chances for upsets. It looks difficult for the African teams to go through to the next stage. I would still fancy Ivory coast & Ghana, if I had to choose who would make it through for the next stage. Anybody here going to watch the matches in S.A? :P

What can u say about Sehwag? The guy is incredible to watch when he's on song like that. It was like some fast forward blitz that was taking place. He has a chance to become the only player in Tests to score 3 triple hundreds. When someone bats like that it must be so deflating for the fielding team & the bowlers especially to keep taking such pounding off almost every other delivery. Spectators must've had a treat watching the run fest. Sehwag to score 400+? I doubt many would bet against it judging by how he played today.
  9. I thought Hull City's goal celebration against Man City was superb. Well done to Bullard & Hull City players for enacting it that well. :P It's a derby day today! Should be mouth watering stuff.

Well the pitch haters were out in numbers after India thumped 415 on the 1st day, but what followed was crazy considering how Sri Lanka batted in the 1st Test match. I guess the changes made the difference ultimately. Sreesanth, been out for so long & taking 5 wickets in the 1st innings. It seems like Harbhajan must've slapped Sreesanth pretty hard to get him to bowl like that. Even Ojha managed to do well on his debut. All in all good performance. Aussies thumped Windies. I don't think many would've expected anything else. Close finish but NZ doing enough there. Umar Akmal to watch out for. Nice to see Shane Bond playing Tests again. S.A battered England in the 3rd ODI, but right now England doing well in 4th ODI. So much Cricket being played simultaneously. :P

Yeah, that was pretty much a pointless pitch. But Sri Lanka did bat well. Must be a nightmare to bowl on wickets where there is no assistance for the bowlers. As they say, It's a batsman's game. Hopefully, the next venue has a better pitch to produce excitement & close finish. :)

A sad end to an exciting series. The Mumbai game was sold out & it somehow managed to rain in November. Nevertheless, there is plenty of Cricket lined up. India vs Sri Lanka 1st test tmrw. (ODIs also later) England already in South Africa playing a T20 in 45mins & ODI's soon. (Tests later) New Zealand hosting Pakistan for some test matches. Australia playing against the West Indies for some Test matches. Yeah, lot of action coming up.

Heh! It's nice to know someone remembers me inspite of the limited posts I've made. I see you've become a mod now. Good going mate. |^_^|

Well, that batting performance by India in the 6th ODI didn't do justice to how closely the series has been fought. <_< And that innings by Sachin to score 175, reminded me of the Sharjah days when he would carve apart the opposition with ease, amazing innings to say the least. Too bad he couldn't win it for the team though; painfully close to getting it over the line. The 7th ODI is in Mumbai, so hopefully it won't feel like a dead rubber match. After ages I seemed to have posted a message.
  15. Heh, I just tried explaining in my previous post why they might've targeted foreigners. There is a huge capital inflow because of the foreign investment, targeting them means showing them that India isn't a safe place to do your business. It makes you think twice before coming to India & doing business. In the short run there is a negative or unfavourable sentiment towards India. People will be hesitant to visit India because of these attacks. These are just the short term problems created due to this attack.
