paint is good to start in but to draw something that looks good go into graphics gale draw a picture with the pencil and colour it in with pencil and paint bucket to give shading like this or like this

well i did a bit more although it doesn't look so great i am really bad at linework

well try not using the stock colours and draw the shapes with the pencil not the auto-shapes

shading on second 1 looks really goos but i'd say work on the outline of ranger in second one
