  1. I have been givin many metal dragon assignments and never got a single drop. The last time i got iron dragons i killed all 60 or whatever it was, and i stayed to kill a few more. The first kill after my assignment was over was a dragon skirt, so i stayed and killed another, the second kill was dragon legs. Back to back dragon drops and it was not on my slayer assignment. Like the people who make the game said, it makes no difference.

Having an example of just 1 situation is no reason to fully disagree with us and agree with jagex >.<

  2. I also tend to disagree with Jagex. How many times does Jagex state their opinion about a certain issue, when like everyone knows that not everything they are telling is right.

Dude, you cant be serious there...

What on earth is Jagex' intrest to lie to you on this issue?

Jagex don't state their opinion, Jagex,as the game devlopers can tell for a fact if its there or not.

too bad the ppl who answer the questions usually dont have any clue and are just putting up an automated fill in the blank response.

Uhm I don't understand? Could u explain what you said lol :P

  3. No. It's pure coincedence. Stop trying to spread rumors.

I'm not spreading rumours, this is based on my own experience, and looking at some other people it seems I'm not the only one.

And I could think of way more stranger rumors that I've heard in the past, such as that you would get better drops when your memerbship would below 3 days to stimulate to stay p2p, than this slayer thing seems to be much more trustworthy tbh.

  4. Maybe what you're talking about has something to do with the monster's levels...I mean...every monster in the game drops a sheild left half...anyone ever gotten one from a level less than 150? I doubt it...I think monsters level has a lot to do with it...as for slayer task or not...I'm undecided.

The thing I know now is: All you high levels talking about slayer really makes me want to do it.

    49 slayer ftw!!!

No I really ain't talking about the levels. I'm COMPARING the same monsters with and without slayer. So Steel dragons with and without slayer, Dagganoth Kings with and without slayer etc. Also btw 3 years ago on my other acc (tijger2099) I got a shield left half from a fire giant (that's lvl below 150 :P). I was only p2p for a few days and, I had them ASSIGNED for slayer, I got it after the 40th drop, and these were actually the first fire giants I had ever killed, since before that I was f2p.

  5. I'm sorry but I dont agree, I got a dragon chain from dust devils not on a task, been there 4-5 times after that on a task and haven't gotten it :(

I'm sorry to interfere with you, the overall drop rate of d chains from dust devils is so small, that if there would be a difference in drop rate with slayer tasks that it would only be very different from a non slayer task, just because on a normal occasion of a d chain from dusties is 1 in thousands. In this discussion I think it's best to take item's that have a drop rate of probably no more than 1:500, then you should be able to see a difference, but with items that usually have a drop rate of let's say 1:20000 it's very hard to say whether the task makes a difference or not. I hope you still understand me lol :P

  6. Well personally I think 1315 Steel Drags is a rather nice amount. It ain't 20k like you said, but Steel dragons are also harder to kill and have higher drop rate of dragon legs/skirts/halfs than whips from abby demons I guess.

1315 steel dragons with no drop compared to 400 with 5 drops, seems to be clear enough? And even that is a rather decent amount of monsters tbh.

  7. Not bad

I got my pure (owned_4ever2) for 11 months now and it has 5 higher total, but twice the total xp and about 2 or 3 times your amount of money, so you could have been higher, but you've been focussing on skills more than I did, but nice job anyway.

Yeah, but he didn't Pest Control all his melee stats... -.-

And you didn't check out all my stats, also got almost 76 slayer, and I only pc'ed strength btw, the rest is all done by either slayer or just killing monsters but without slayer.

  8. I also tend to disagree with Jagex. How many times does Jagex state their opinion about a certain issue, when like everyone knows that not everything they are telling is right.

Idk why they would lie about this issue, but there's so many things Jagex did that makes me thing, why on earth did they do that, it's of no use, and it only makes it worse. Such as the pure ess idea, Jagex seems to be slightly arrogant in some way, they only want to create things they made themselves, if anything is not made by themselves they get mad and ban it (such as swiftswitch a few months ago). Jagex doesn't act as logical as we think they should, and when I look at some replies there's some very clear examples that suggest that slayer tasks increase chances of drops

  9. No flame wars on this thread please, everything that I said is just my own experience, I'm not stating anything, so don't flame about that...

Good morning everyone, the above title is pretty much self explanatory and I just wanted to know if other people agree with the title, just based on your own experience.

I personally seem to get better drops when I'm killing monsters for a slayer task, rather than just killing for xp, without slayer.

A few weeks ago I killed 1315 Steel Dragons with fire bolt, just for magic xp. I didn't get a single dragon drop, which is rather pathetic isn't it? Next I decided to get my attack up with slayer again and quit the metal dragons with magic. Once in a while I get iron or steel drags for my slayer, and I don't skip them, but I just kill them, for their dragon drops and clues. So far I killed approximately 400 iron/steel dragons (150 steels, 250 irons) and I have gotten 3 d legs, 1 skirt and 1 left half, pretty an amazing difference right?

The same goes for the Dagganoth Kings. As a GoF member I do DK's quite often, mainly solo trips. In the past 8 solo trips (that is about 200 Dagganoth Rex's), I didn't get a single DK drop, yesterday I for the first time in months got Dagganoths for slayer again and I decided to do another DK trip, this time I took my friend who never done it before. Some lurers came in, so we actually had to tele earlier than we expected, still we got 2 warriors and 1 berserker ring (we both had some of the drops, but I got all the 3 DK drops (he doesn't have them for slayer, I do, weird or just luck?). The trip lasted for as long as a normal solo trip would take, we now only killed a few more rex's since with 2 people you simply can kill more in a certain period of time.

I have a few other examples where I seem to get better drops when I kill monsters for slayer, instead when I kill them just for the fun.

So what do you think? Did you experience the same thing a few times?, or did you never actually had anything like this. Please post what you think :)

  10. I once remembered when my friend chaoticly pmed me telling he had found chocolate dust. We thought it was very special, in some guide we found it was used for some sort of skill called herblore, noticing that herblore was a p2p skill we thought that the dust itself was p2p too. But we were both f2p so we wondered how it got here, we thought we had found the first p2p in a f2p server without saying it was 'members object' but 'chocolate dust'. We told some other people how special it was and sold it for like 500k (could've bought 3 santa's of that back then But I chose to buy 3 sets of rune lol >.
