  1. A lot of athiests remind me of the hardcore nationalists who dislike immigrants due to a few bad eggs. They have very little knowledge of them, yet try to judge them and what they should be able to do.

    Dat irony.

Sounds like most Christians I know.

  2. lol @ all the arguments from complexity/beauty.

    And this:

It's impossible to know definitively if there is indeed a "higher power", so engaging in debates about it is useless.

  3. This test has amazingly high reliability and validity. We use this test all the time. The average score is typically low in most categories with a few moderates or perhaps a single high-score in a category. Generally speaking, having two or more high scores in different categories or even a score of 'very high' usually suggests that you need to start being concerned.

    "We" being who?

Yes, I'm curious. Just how accurate is this test? I should still think that even if you have a couple of very high's (like I did) that it's not necessarily worth having a professional diagnose you.

This isn't a diagnostic tool and shouldn't claim to be.

However, the chances are that a quarter of all the people who've posted on this thread are currently suffering from mental illness--not necessarily PD, granted--and a quarter more of us are just short of the diagnostic criteria. Simply put, around half of us in the developed world aren't in a 'healthy' way. The test itself isn't enough to establish a diagnosis, but some of the answers to the questions here (particularly concerning sleep patterns, diet, suicidal tendancies etc.) might be indicative that someone needs to seek medical help.

My point is, if you're concerned about mental health, you should see a professional anyway, regardless of the accuracy of this test (or lack thereof). I'm not suggesting that people go looking for help everytime they feel a little bit sad, but if there's cause for concern then of course it's worth talking to a professional.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner, folks!

Yes, my post was a bit sarcastic. These tests are obviously something you should take with a grain of salt, especially if you take one on the Internet. (Common sense, really.) However, if you are answering some of these questions, and you have, say, thoughts of suicide, then you should get checked out ASAP.

Hope I didn't scare you guys too much.

  4. I've just been accepted to study at UConn on an exchange program. Any one have any experiences with exchange programs? Particularly interested in the difference between English and American uni's. As well as any tips about Connecticut/America in general for an incoming Brit!

Students may be interested in you because you're an exchange student from the UK. Don't let it blow off your studies though. If your classes are sciences, then you will be challenged. If they are social sciences or humanities, not so much.

  6. We have to be considerate of what we post, and we can't post censored material?

I don't see this thread living up to its potential at all on TIF, which is tough to say

    Have some heart bro.

This reminds me of the depression I went through when I was a teen, and I get offended every time someone makes a suicide joke in order to poke fun at people with depression. Put yourself in his place...

  7. I really dont understand people hating this update so much, i cant understand if people dislike it, thats fair enough, but to spend days ranting about it.. i find that pretty sad. Stuff like this always happens when major updates happen then after a week everyone loves it, i personally liked this update, it just makes you realise how bad the old graphics actually were and as for the people saying they want 07 graphics back, most of them didnt even play at that time it makes me lol.

Yes, Jewsbro, I agree with you 100 percent percent. '07 graphics sucked! People should also shut up about updates because it's getting annoying as of late. Freaking hate whiners.

  8. This man KONY, also sometimes referred to as 'Shenbatu' must be stopped at all costs! I for one hope the CIA sends the dogs on his ass as well as a team of special forces to put a bullet in his knee.

  9. Would posting an aaancient black and white medical picture of a man with swollen elephantiasis testicles be too awful? I think it'd instawin this thread because let's face it, a man with super huge balls is kind of funny to think about.

  10. I can't imagine what a crappy job it must be to work there right now given that they are "restructuring" so much and nobody probably knows if they will still have their job the next day...

Good job working on Stellar Dawn. You're fired.

  11. Why is speed a determinant in measuring how intelligent a person is? Some of the best thinkers of our time are those that take the time sit down and think through their reasoning and write about it.

    Because thinking is bad.

  12. I had one *Hell* of a dream this afternoon.

I was in the church building where I used to go to church several years ago. I come out of the bathroom, and I see people beginning to panic. I could smell the stench of burning flesh (It is a horrible smell if you have never smelled it before). Instantly, I know what is happening. I tried to explain to everyone that it was the Koreans using nuclear processes to kill American people. My family and I run outside, and I look up and point to the sky. There is a large stream of *thick* black smoke flowing through the sky. There are small ash particles falling all around. I turn to my mom and ask "that is the Jet Stream isn't it?" She solemnly responded with "yes." The flowing black smoke was the ash from all of the bodies that the Koreans were burning, and the smoke was circling the world in the Jet Stream. I screamed and ran over to my car. I sped off from the parking lot in fear that the Koreans might bomb us. I arrive at my dorm room back here at Purdue, but they shoved 8 beds in my room to accommodate all of the refugees who were fearing the bombs. I could see that my carpet was missing from the floor (for some reason, this was important to me). I look all around the room for it, and eventually I find it rolled up in a corner. One of the boys who was living in my room told me that he moved it. I pulled out a knife and stabbed him several times and ran off.

That is as much as I can honestly remember, but there wasn't much else.

    She's gonna get you.

  13. what could come into elite tasks? is it possible for it to be to summon that ghast?

Grow your own Fellstalk/Make your own prayer renewal from scratch will definitely be one.

Killing Akrisae specifically will probably be one as well considering it requires the completion of RotM to kill him.

Killing a skeletal horror thingymajigga from the bone collector weird man...

    Burn 500 vyre corpse.
