I apologize if my comments were bitter. But I've dealt with so many critics that I start to question why anyone would put forth an idea. As to if this skill idea is doable? Yes, very much so. I decided to do some research and yes, the graphics and combat etal are easily within the framework of Java technology. It's already been done in another game that I won't mention here. And it too is java based. I also figured out ways to power level the skill. That was what the 'big mods' were concerned about.

My biggest mistake about this idea is that I failed to mention that this would draw PKers to attack those hunting the bounty NPCs. The problem is that is EXACTLY my intention. PKers out there would add spice to the bounty hunt. Another mistake was not clearly stating that these NPCs wouldn't stay in one spot all the time. They couldn't be staked out and killed that way and leave others unable to hunt the NPCs. If the NPC has any brains(artificial intelligence), he'd avoid a staked out area in the first place, just like any other player(that's not a noob) would do.

That is not the main problem. What I meant was that you could play stuff like Castle Wars but still have to go back to the "Real" Runescape world, whereas you can simply keep being a Pirate and that's that. And by your logic, the development team could very well introduce Galaxy Class Starships into Runescape. Why not then? It "isn't too big for Runescape to handle, is it?" When did the Madden gamers start playing Runescape? The difference between 'galaxy craft starships' and the pirate skill is one doesn't exist and the other did exist and falls within the framework of medieval fantasy(Medieval period 500AD thru 1550AD). There are, as others pointed out, already quests dealing with pirates. Cabin Fever being the most prominent. I've noticed you've never said anything good about anyone's ideas but your own. I truly feel sorry for you. Why? I was just like you. Self centered to the point of isolating yourself from the rest of humanity. Down that path leads to a vicious disappointment that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Simply defending my idea and statements is perfectly reasonable. I didn't post this just to endure praise and abuse. I honestly thought the same as you which prompted me to look up the morningstar and flail. What we have in RS now is technically a MORNINGSTAR not a flail. A flail really is two sticks tied together by a cord.

Yes, I've heard some of what this skill might entail, but only rumors and guesses( I like to guess a ton myself, but often get way off track). Can you guys tell me what all you've heard about it?

With over 250 supporters now in the RS forums, I understand Jagex is giving the idea a serious look. I'd like to add the names from this forum as well, but I don't know the legality of it.

Look at all the ties to skills already in Runescape. It can tie in with each and every other skill. I wish people would stop with saying an idea is too big for Runescape to handle. That goes for every idea that has people saying that. You're telling me that A) RS is for the unintelligent or B)That the development team can't do it.

I don't PK..I'm too softhearted. But when I have to go to wilds to get a clue scroll or go to agility course, I get PKed out of boredom. BOREDOM!!!!. There's nothing to do out there and it's getting worse every day. No wonder they take potshots at us.

Extremely often when I come across new threads, I see players claim that the idea is "Not Medieval enough". In an effort to either back up those claims or dispute them if they're wrong, I will list medieval weapons not currently in Runescape. That's the first paragraph from this thread. Maybe I should have said 'EVERY SINGLE TIME' instead of extremely often. Players flame threads due to the not medieval enough reasoning.

Yeah, they released the Defender, basically a mix between a rapier and a baselard(2 of the about 50 medieval items I listed in my threads). I've never understood why there's no dragon claws yet. I mean..don't dragons HAVE claws? It makes perfect sense and so does having a dragon pick(Use a dragons tooth for the pick part). For several months, I've had a recurring thread in RS Forums on 'Medieval weapons missing in RS'. I don't know if they just based the Defender on the ideas there or what. A lot of people who posted in that thread expressed interest in both the baselard and rapier, but I still don't know.

You're claiming I stole my idea from this? Sorry man, but you need more details. But I support anyway. The idea is sound, just not the content. Want to make your idea better? Look up Pirates in the Wikipedia and also different types of ships. Trust me, you'll actually have fun reading the information. You'll be an 'old salt' in no time. Another thing to look up is the CULVERIN, A cannon present in medieval times. Contact me with a message and I'll help you do research. Saying "Let's have boats and go sailing" is far different from the thread I've put forth here. I first put this thread on RS Forums in September 2004. I have no idea what puzzle pirates is(But since I'm overly curious, I'll be googling for that information). This is my own idea that I adapted from a PC game called "Port Royale". I only used it as a basis, which unless you're completely [developmentally delayed]ed, means that I used another idea for reference. In case you didn't know, using a reference lends credence to your suggestions, not that you copied the idea. I've seen numerous threads in these forums and most lack any detail or basis to make them legitimate threads. You need to do research so people will understand better. If you guys want to say this is like Puzzle Pirates, that's fine. But where did this game rip off it's ideas from? I'll tell you. Port Royale, Sid Meier's Pirates(I don't own the PC version of this, darn it...but I will) and the old Sega Genesis and Nintendo versions of Pirates Gold(Sid Meier's early years). And where did they get THEIR ideas? From history.

Yes, I know the idea sounds like they would never do it. But let's recall all the critics in history: "Why do you want fire? Isn't the cave good enough for you?" Critic of first caveman who discovered fire. "A personal Computer??? Computers are as big as a building and they'll always stay that way!!!" Critics of Microsoft. If we always had a negative attitude toward new ideas to the point we stopped even suggesting them, then nothing will ever change.
