i downloaded a limewire acceleration patch, and then my internet suddenley disconected. I uninstalled the limewire patch and run a virus scan. My virus scan didn't come up with any viruses (i used avg) and my computer still wont let me connect to the internet.

 

 

 

I know theres nothing wrong with my wireless system, because im useing a usb (its called wireless usb adapter WG111T) and the little program that uses to tell me if im connected, is saying im connected to the internet. But the little computer thats in the bottom of the screen is saying im not. If i turn off my firewall and stuff, its showing me my wireless hub, and telling me i am connected to it, but it wtill isn't actually connected :? . well anyways, really need help here, im useing my laptop in the same room as well and this is connected, so i know theres nothing wrong with that eithier. ill post pictures in a min to show you what i mean... please help

since the wireless network seems to be working it would recommend you use the system restore feature. If you want to go back to now then you can just undo the restore. You "might" loose a downloaded file or two from linewire because that has been my experience with bit torrenting and system restore.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If the restoration fails or your computer still has problems then you may choose to uninstall limewire. I would wait for more posters ideas for this though since it can take a lot of work. If that fails then i would do a ping test witch is when you run cmd then type ping witch that should tell you if you are connected to the internet for real or if it is just a browser issue. Try to run devmgmt.msc then you should expand the network adapters category and check to make sure that none of them are disabled or not working properly witch they would have a red mark through them if they where. Then try to run in safe mode (F8 on startup).

have you tried the obvious unplug the router, wait for 30 secs, and plug it back in?
