March 24, 200719 yr I have a C drive and a backup D drive. I've got about 4 gigs left on the C drive, and plenty of extra space on the D drive, in fact I wouldn't mind not having a backup at all, I don't really have any important information that I could not go without. So, how can I merge the two drives together or put some space from one onto the other?
March 24, 200719 yr If it's one hard drive with two partitions you can take space from one and add it to another with a program called partition magic. If you have 2 physical hard drives and wanted to make them into one drive that you see under windows, you would need to put them in a RAID array. I'm not too familiar with raid so you would need somebody more experienced to help you out.
March 24, 200719 yr If you have drives of different sizes RAID 0 (striped) is a bad idea since you'll lose some of the larger drive. What's more, to do it both would have to be wiped. Basically RAID isn't what you want in your situation. If you have two partitions on one physical disc then you can either make the smaller one bigger and the bigger one smaller, or you'll have to copy the items over to the bigger one manually - which will prevent some of the copied programs from working. If you have two physical discs then you can only copy stuff over.
