ixfd64
As some players think, thieving is one of the more underlooked skill. Personally, I think it needs it needs more variety. For example, most NPCs say the same thing when you fail (except H.A.M.) give the same thing (except H.A.M., heroes, rogues, elves, and gnomes, and hit the same each time (except H.A.M.). That's not very interesting. We need more variety, such as knights giving a random amount of GP between 25 and 75, level 2 clue scrolls, metal bars, or maybe special items that can only be gained through thieving. We also need more chests. So far, you'll always be success if you search for traps. We also need more types of traps, rather than just taking regular damage, such as magical traps that summon watchmen or lower stats, etc. Also, damaging traps should be more descriptive, like "knives fly out at you!" rather than just "You've triggered a trap", etc. Also, we need more lockpicks, such as fine lockpicks and magic lockpicks (more useful, less likely to break, etc). Harrington
I agree that more people need to be given an incentive to pickpocket for theiving experience (as opposed to just powering through the Summer garden or Pyramid Plunder). I don't think altering the response text is the way to do it though.. I believe that improving the rewards from a pickpocket is the idea with most merit. Slayr
Yes I agree. It would make people want to do traditional theiving more, instead of Pyrimid Plunder. Then I would get my theiving up 8-)
