Guest XplsvBam
I'm trying to get the wireless internet card working on an averatec notebook. It is a really nice computer with good specs. The only problem is the internet isn't working. I really don't want to have to send it back so any ideas I'll take. Well the problem is the wireless card only randomly works. Things I've checked: Wireless card is on Wireless card is enabled Firewall is off and messed around with Re-installed internet Re-formated computer Looked for driver upgrades Made sure the computer is in range Made sure other computers were working on the wireless router Checked all settings in the wireless card software Tried 3 different kinds of wireless software including what came with it It worked fine for the first 2 weeks but now it connects maybe an hour a week. Help, thanks
Errdoth
What model card is it? If you are using XP, mine sometimes fits in and out every now and awile. Just right ckick on the icon and hit repair. EDIT: Not sure why this was reported? Last.fm Signature Overlays

Randox
Go to: Control Panel>Administartive Tools>Services Scroll down to the botom and you should see "Wireless Zero Configuration" If it is on turn it off, and if it is off then turn it on. This is assuming you have Windows XP btw. Now if the end result is that its on, than go to the properties for the conection, go to the wireless networks tab, and cheack the box that says "Use Windows to configure my wirless networks". This will alow XP to manage your card, assuming it can figure out how the card works. Windows can normally figure it out. My wirless network was horrible until i discovered this, it would lag me out of runescape every 5 minutes untill I found Wirless Zero Configuration, hope this healps. Mercifull
The thread was probably reported because you have provided no useful information. Type and Model router and wireless card for example. Cruiser
any router. any wireless card. ...is worthless information. There are literally thousands of routers and wireless cards out there. Each has it's own set of drivers, controls and settings. We can't help fix something when you just give us information that includes every piece of wireless hardware on the planet.
