This is my first background i've ever made....

Pretty simple, but its good for your first try :). Add a border, and keep on experimenting. Also, what program did u use?

Sadwolf: I used Adobe PS ... I use it @ my dads work ... how do you create a border*?

New layer >> Rectangler marquee tool all around the thing >> right click >> stroke >> change it to however you want it

what i did to make a border was pretty simple, make the rectangular shape thing, soom to 200% and select a little away from the edge of the image, to the other corner, same as select all, but at a smaller scale, Select -> Inverse and then use like white paint bucket and experiment with the layer style, it sounds pretty hard, but its very easy

It doesn't look that bad for a first try. You should really think about a different font though.

very cool... also to make a border... you can select the top layer, hit ctrl+A and then go to edit stroke and set the width, color, opacity...

Interesting background, not bad for a first attempt.

i cant find the marqquee stuff.... i went to new layer :

Rectangular marquee means the rectangular selection tool.
