  1. Honestly... Nothing I think. Well, nothing I was caught doing at least. Now, if we want to talk about real law enforcers, I might have some explaining to do...

    AIM Triton

I just installed this a couple days ago... I'm not that impressed. I like regular AIM better. Or maybe Trillian.
  3. This is certainly great news. I definitely want this console now. ...As long as they release Legendary Axe for TurboGrafx.
  4. I love DDR. Personally, I think 5th Mix is the best one available. But Stepmania is always nice because then I can play hundreds of different songs. I've gotten a bit rusty lately though, as I haven't played so much, but it's still fun. I should start up again.
  5. Resident Evil. The REmake, specifically. Twice. The first time when the dogs jumped through the window (after faking you out the first time you passed through the hallway). The second time when you encounter your first crimson head.

    HELP!

Couldn't you just... Carry her down the stairs? I know I had to do that for my dog a couple times when she injured her leg and was afraid to go up or down stairs.

    Why flame?

I am very confused about the point of this topic as well...
  8. Way to be helpful... He's not asking if should start or not. He needs help quitting.

    Futurama

I believe I heard they're making four direct-to-DVD episodes. If they fare well, we can probably expect a revival of the series.
  10. This, folks, is quite the example of natural selection in action. Idiots. EDIT: Wrong wording... Action, not practice.
  11. If you look on http://www.backmaskonline.com/ there are quite a few that have been intentional. The one that always comes to mind is a song by Weird Al (I have no idea which one) that when backmasked says something like "Boy you must have too much time on your hands." Hilarious.
  12. You do know that the only time backmasking actually reveals something is when the artist actually puts it in themselves, right? People are always looking for satanic messages in music, but they simply aren't there.
  13. Look at this article for some idea of the addictiveness: http://www.erowid.org/psychoactives/add ... nal1.shtml Nicotine is placed first. Quite the eye opener. (I could go off into my usual rant about how cigarettes are legal yet cannabis isn't because of greed and racism, but I think I won't... this time.) Granted it's from research done in 1990, but I'm sure not much has changed since then.
  14. Wow, that is a really great quote. I think you've inspired me to read Fahrenheit 451 once again... I guess I read it about 8 years ago. I don't remember being that fascinated with it when I read it then, but these quotes, and my recent amazement while reading The Martian Chronicles have made me decide to give the book another chance.
  15. "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." - Oscar Wilde "In the sunset of dissolution, everything is illuminated by the aura of nostalgia." - Milan Kundera "When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all" - God, in Futurama (Yes, it's from Futurama, but that episode really changed the way I look at religion... That quote basically sums it all up. Does anyone know where they got the material for that episode from? I'd be interested in reading a book having to do with it.) "To be truly human is to be constantly exploring" - Not sure "Just be." - Not sure (This one is just so short, but explains so much to me. In fact I think I might have come up with it... Which would probably explain why I like it so much...) "When you don't give people a chance to succeed, then by definition, they don't." - Numb3rs? "There are no facts, only interpretations." - Nietzsche (I could post many other Nietzsche quotes here, but I think I've done enough for one post.)
  16. What you have to do is switch your addiction to something else. Of course, not something else harmful or addictive, but something that will occupy your time. I remember I guess around '92 or '93, someone I know was able to quit by playing the GameBoy game 'Wario Blast' for hours on end. You just need something that will fill your time and not leave your hands idle for picking up another cigarette. I don't smoke (...much) so I don't know, but I've heard that the third day is the hardest and it gets a little easier everyday from there.
  17. My sister is a BIG fan of it, and got the movie from her friend in some speical FMA convention, I dunno. It was in Japense with English subtitles. Saw half of it. In the movie movie some guy was a Jew and his wife was a NAZI! Good thing she didn't know... (no offence to Jews, offence for Nazis for being mother-f'ers) Cool, but don't say too much  , I'm sure everyone would prefer not to know what happens. Winri and Ed got married in the end! There! I said! Mwahahaha! Nah, im pulling ur leg here. I was about to be really pissed for you not marking spoilers... That would have made for an interesting ending though...
  18. I'd ask 500 people to sacrifice themselves. I'm sure there are 500 people who would be willing to give up their lives to stop AIDS.
  19. That wasn't that difficult... Only took a couple minutes. I doubt that only 2% of the general population could figure that out. As others have said, it is the German who has the fish... He also lives in the green house, smokes Princes, and drinks coffee.
  20. Same here. I always end up using Yoshi in Mario Kart games... Unfortunately I don't have a DS, so I haven't really played the game that much. I'll be picking it up when the DS Lite comes out.

    Lying...

I hate when people lie. There are only a few situations it is acceptable in. Mainly when you are protecting someone or trying to not to hurt them. What really annoys me is people who lie constantly, for no reason at all. I have this one friend who has this problem (though it's been getting better lately), and he lies about the stupidest things. I can't think about a specific example but it could be something like I ask him what he ate, and he tells me something... Later on I find out that he actually ate something else. He had absolutely nothing to gain by lying to me. I just don't understand why he does it. Ugh... Sorry for the rant. Anyways, you should try to not lie so much... It's really a very unappealing characteristic in people. I am guilty of lying sometimes too, but only when it is absolutely necessary. Even then I still prefer the truth no matter how brutal it is.
  22. no no no no no you dont understand! ALL alcohol tastes like crap. i had wine once, a sip of sam adams, sip of budwizer, sip of something else, and also coors light. they all taste horrible. i dont see how anyone likes the taste of beer. It's an acquired taste I guess. Not everyone likes everything. Oh and by the way, I don't care for beer either. Well, at least not most beer.
  23. Since you use the term "run away," I assume that he is around the age of 13-16. In that case, I really don't think it is a good idea. While there may be nothing you can do about it, ask him what his plans are. Where will he live? How will he make money? Has he really thought this out fully?
  24. I agree with that from a scientific point of view. However I still would say that anyone who is talking about the risks of cannabis should mention this correlation so that those considering using cannabis are informed and can make a decision based on all the facts, even if the fact is that the jury is still out. Okay, that's acceptable. I agree with that. I will try to mention it in the future. I'm not trying to force anyone to do anything that they don't want to or lie about health problems that are definitely there, I'm just sick of the image that the media places on those who use cannabis recreationally as lazy people who are addicted, contribute nothing to society, and spend all their time and money just getting high. It's simply not true for the general population. Of course there are exceptions, but that is true with anything.
  25. That I can believe. Easily done when you know someone who smokes canabis and has been diagnosed with mild skizophrenia. Good to see that both of you have adapted to my superior spelling of schizophrenia :P The problem with the argument that correlation doesn't mean causation is that, in this case, you're talking about a psychoactive drug and a mental illness. If we were talking about a correlation between wearing red socks and suffering schizophrenia then I'd agree. These aren't just small surveys of a couple of people either. If you assume that the two must be linked, as I do, you only have two possible conclusions: cannabis use causing schizophrenia OR schizophrenia causing cannabis use. I, too, have a 'mentally ill' friend who smokes cannabis, and he agrees. Call me biased :) Since we're just posting opinions right now, I'll come up with a source: http://www.erowid.org/plants/cannabis/c ... lth3.shtml The main point that the article makes is "that there is a near consensus that cannabis use and psychotic disorders are correlated, but the nature of the relationship is still far from clear." Before anyone argues that Erowid is a biased source, they are they number one authority on psychoactive drugs and present all sides of psychoactives, the good and the bad. Even if it may seem like they are glorifying drung use, they still include all the studies that condemn the use of drugs.
