Is obby shield worth buying?

When I already have a rune defender. Or should I use a more defensive shield without str bonus, like d sq? When would the extra defense of any shield be betted than rune defender for combat training/slayer?

 

 

 

So basically if I should get a new shield, what one?

For training (e.g. slayer) go with the defender. I wasn't aware that the obby shield gave a str bonus :uhh: . If you feel like you need the extra def, use a d square. But obby shield isn't worth the price, imo. Take a look at the stats: rune kite gives better melee def, while obby shield (had a hard time finding that one in the items database) has better ranged def and str bonus. Then consider their prices, and I think you'll find that thge rune kite is better. (Now, the obby shield looks cooler, but I didn't factor that into the problem.) Hope this helps!

obby shield is a little better than using a defender. I use it on slayer tasks where i dont wanna pay attention (so i dont die easily) and on high level monsters and i feel its alot better. I use it for the str bonus though so if you dont care about hitting high use a d sq

the thing about the pbby sheild is that it has very similar stats to the rune kite. if you want to see for yourself and compare go here

i hope these tables help, what i did was made a chart comparing each one to eachother with negative or positive values in the bonuses (slash defence, crush defence, ect.) and say what one had the best stats. if that is confusing to you pm me so i can explain it better, but it is hard to do in these forums

I think obby is for the large part if you're too lazy to get defender. Attack bonuses are more valuable than defense bonuses.
