Farming question

Recommended Posts

I'm planting sweetcorn with scarecrows right now, and I heard that as long as I water them once, they will grow no problem. I'm using supercompost too.

What I would like to know is if there is any chance they will die if I leave them like that, and will I get a better crop if I water them every time?

Watering your plants in the middle of the grow cycle only prevents them from getting diseased, but your scarecrow is already doing the job, so you are fine. The only other thing that can improve your harvest is using supercompost (you already are), and using the magical secateurs from Fairy Tale.

There's still a chance that they die.

Using precautions like watering, super compost, a scarecrow and magic secateurs (do they work in preventing didease?) only LOWERS the chance of the allotment getting diseased and dying. If you farm the boring way (=waiting for growth, watering them each cycle) you get 100% yield.

The only 100% safe way to get healthy crop is paying a farmer 10 jute fibres. I grow them in my hops patches (the only way of obtaining them) near Seers and in Yanille, because I'm frequently there. If that's too much trouble for you (I can understand that) then you have to live with dead sweetcorn every once in a while, but chances are small.

As for the yield: the usage of supercompost increases it, as well as using the magic secateurs. But per batch grown, it can differ, and it has noithing to do with watring them or not

No the magic secateurs only improve your yield, it doesn't lower the chances of disease. But are you sure that the Scarecrow isn't absolute protection? Flowers and scarecrows have never failed me, but maybe it's just me.
