Fastest way to 70 smithing?

The absolute fastest way is buying gold ores and smelting them using the goldsmith gauntlets.

If mining all the ores, I dont know. Maybe iron(with ring of forging, make knives and sell), maybe gold again (with goldsmith gauntlets)l

Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07.

If you're mining it all the fastest way is probably to mine gold ore with the fairy ring method and smelt them with gold smithing gauntlets.

Iron with rings of forging, Gold with goldsmiths gauntlets, or superheating mithril in the mine (needs a lot of nats) - depends on the distance, but carrying a load of mithril bars back from the mine, ready smelted may be faster than bringing several loads of ore, and smelting several loads.

You could also consider the blast furnace for mithril, though the real gain from mining and smithing mithril is in the decent alch/shop price of higher items.

No, no, no. You guys have it all wrong, from my perspective. He said he wants the fastest way for smithing xp. Just buy tons and TONS of the bars you can smith into weapons,(say if your smithing level was 30, then buy tons and tons of steel bars) and head off to varrock west bank right by the anvil with a hammer and your 10m steel bars :P

Note that, depending on the weapons you can make of that metal type, this can be very VERY costly, but there is definately no faster way than this. Smithing bars into armor and weapons is way faster than smelting ores into bars, and you get the same amount of xp per bar/ore. In the time it takes you to smelt 100 iron ores and 200 coal into 100 steel bars, therefore getting 100x the xp each bar, you could have smithed probably 1k bars into weapons (preferrably plates since they take the fastest), but getting 1000x the xp each bar.

Hope this helps!
