High aclhing for yew longs 768gp....?

Featured Replies

I remember the high alch for yew longs are 768gp per

but nats are ... say 300 ea.

and yew longs are ... 580 ea(or 600)

580+300 = 880...

that's not worth the money?

I remember yew longs used to be 450 or something ea... in old days?

or perhaps everybody just wants to spend 880-768=112gp for training magic fast?

Thanks :)

Make them yourself, buy/RC nats = profit.

Buying yew longs + runes is money lost, but alching is considered to be fast/easy magic exp, so it's gonna cost ya!

As always, making your own stuff is most time consuming, but also most profitable. The more you buy, the lower the profit is.

Yew logs: 300 ea

bowstring: 160 ea

nats: 300 ea

alch for 768 is 8 gp profit plus mage/fletch xp. The more you gather yourself, the more profit.

actually if you buy the pure ess for...lets say 100ea then craft them into nats, buy flax for 90gp+ each then spin it into bs, then buy yews for 300 ea and make yew longs then alch them, you would make more than 8 gp per bow..

nats (runecrafted) = 100gp ea

bs (spinned yourself) = 100gp ea

yews = 300gp ea

TOTAL = 400gp per bow

if high alched = 268gp per bow profit (add the nat price to total then subtract from 768gp)

if sold (say 600ea) = 200gp profit per bow

Everyone else has the right idea: Make at least 1 part of the amount and you'll profit. I personally went the long way a while ago and did the following...

Yew Logs: 5k at 300ea (1.5m)

Bow Strings: 5k Hand Picked (0gp)

Pure Essence: ~4.6k Purchased at 100ea (460k)

Pure Essence: 400 Hand Mined (0gp)

Supplies Total: ~2m

Alchemy: 5k Bows at 768ea (3.84m)

Profit: 1.84m (368gp profit/bow)

It all comes down to what you want to make. I'd recommend making your Nature Runes, however because that's the part you have the most room to change the price on (you'd save 150gp if you made bows as compared to saving 200gp per nature rune if you crafted, and alot more if you could double-craft).
