darkforaster
Now because this is my first time on the debate club, I am hoping this obeys the rules. Now for the rant. We all know that jagex have been a little slow on the good updates. well, the good ones anyway. please don't go against that, just look in runescape forum rants. But anyway, various skills have been released in the past year, such as hunting, farming and construction. Now many people, including me, dislike some of these skills. Construction and farming are ok with me. But is hunter really worth it? and it is not just about the new ones, I see no point in firemaking, better off as an extension to woodcutting, in my opinion. firemaking and hunter are my two choices for useless skills. I also don't see a point in slayer- pretty much combat with different items. So are some skills really worth it? Please make this a sensible discussion. I really don't want someone saying WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT NOOB?! And ruining the thread. Now I am not saying they are all useless and saying they should not be there. I want your opinions. Summary: I want to know if there is any particular skill that you dislike, like or changed. I want all forum rules applyed I want sensible answers. Lumbridge and it's past. highlanders
Hunter is pointless unless for red chinchompas. That are making, pretty much, ranged another buyable skill. :shame: 2480+ total
mikeb912
You say they have been slow on updates :shame: Check out many other online games that are lucky to have an update a month. Just because Jagex has slowed down their update rate doesn't mean that they are neglecting the players. And hunter is just something to do to pass the time. Not all skills have to earn you 1 mil and hour.
highlanders
They are quick on updates. Too bad it's junk eh? 2480+ total
wolfboy
Here's an idea. If you don't like a skill, don't level in it. Spend your time working on the skills you do enjoy. Or don't skill at all. PK or something. There are a lot of things you can do besides hunting. Youth ages, immaturity is outgrown; ignorance can be educated and drunkeness sobered, but stupid is forever. Ginger_Warrior
I'm sorry, but what are you talking about? I go on the RS rants forum often, and there's more posts asking for the update rate to be lowered to increase the quality of the updates, not for the rate to be increased. Having said that, I don't like Hunter. It's a skill that's far too easy and laborious to train, it takes ages, and there's no real reward for it. Jagex really did do a half-baked job when it came to Hunter, they should have used it for the 'Summoning' skill they all talk about, but chose not to. Firemaking does have a point to it, in the way it encourages people to train woodcutting, but Hunter doesn't really have any skill attached to it, so as far as I'm concerned, is really pointless. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |

kohe
We could talk about pointless skills forever especially firemaking and hunter, but then again they are just something to do when you're waiting for something. For example I train my firemaking with yews I get from dagganoth kings while i wait for my team to get ready for another trip. Hunter is completley different though - I despise the skill, it has nothing to do with the type of game runescape is in the first place, as you said - It doesn't like itself with another skill - its useless, however we can't forget about the rest of rs players - I think that what jagex wanted to do was create a skill that was not influenced by the amount of money you have, a newcomer could perfectly go and get 99 hunting in 2 months, the probably did this to balance what they did with construction, a skill that was not very popular not by the way you train it but because of the amount you have to pay to level it up. All I can say is that I hope Jagex rethinks their strategy and stops giving us an endless list of uterly random and useless quests and starts working on exiting stuff like the old days, making the game better and not just wasting their and our time with monotonus storylines every 2 weeks. (P.s I just read what I wrote and the last paragraph is out of topic, sorry :P) no tẻ̮̱̉o boca pa te xupar los cojonesVold failed spanish class. I love Vold. darkforaster
I'm sorry, but what are you talking about? I go on the RS rants forum often, and there's more posts asking for the update rate to be lowered to increase the quality of the updates, not for the rate to be increased. sorry, I meant to say slower on the good updates. Changed it now. Thanks. You said that about a way to pass the time i agree, but there is so much more jagex could be doing. Instead of wasting precious space for junk. Lumbridge and it's past.
