Oblizio
Hi everyone. When I first created Oblizio(my character) I wanted him to be a pure and pk with him. Then I turned member and began training other skills. Recently I heard about barrows, DKs, Steel drags etc and i wanted to know if I should get Def xp to be able to do all these things that require def lvls...Tough choice :s Here are my stats for now: CB:45 By the way I plan on doing Desert Treasure and Monkey madness later.. Thanks for your future help
aoe325
First of not getting defence is dumb.. (No offence) And that pretty much covers it  Do get the best defence level you can, same goes for any skill. Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07. st_n00bl37
You are pure, Dont get defence until later if you want to remain a pure.

LeonardMart
pures are a waste. as you noticed, they miss the chance of doing many things in rs just because of their lame stats. get def high, its really worth it Click my main sig to see my fakes :D Proud to be Mexican, yay! Magic_Shad3
Do NOT get defence. Most of these guys answering this question has proberly not pked with a pure. Until 70-75 cb i would NOT get def. At that point u should have a 99 stat if you keep your att at 50, 1 sad thing about ur pure is the prayer. Until you have 90+ str prayer is a WASTE of cb lvls. And last unless you are planing on begin a mage u dont have to get Ancient (aka do Desert Tresure), since Teleblock wud be much more affective unless ur pking at wildy lvl 1 - 5. If you are pking wildy lvl 1-5 then Ancients pwns cause u can freze em when they are out of fd and hit em at the same time - but entangle works fine too. So plz DONT become a def noob. The way I see it is, that def noob is the safe ones. The ones that dont dare to lose a scim and r2h. If u are pure you take chances, thats the fun of it. Your enemy might be able to hit u, but with ur high str he̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôll be stunned by ur high hits, and eat a lot (esspecialy if he is a safer :shame: ) If ur a gd pker keep 1 def, if you suck and just want to get high stat and dont really care about cb well then go with the def, but i cant see the point until 70+ cb. SirHartlar
^^Couldn't stop laughing at some of the points made in that post. It would appear you have two choices: -Continue to keep your defence at 1, which allows you to be a better player killer. (Apparently, my 'PK' knowledge is limited.) -Raise your defence to expand the activities you can participate in. If you got, say, 70 Defence, then you can wear Barrows armour and you suddenly have a lot more gameplay. The decision is yours.
rampo
I would train def if I where you, so much more things to do than only PK, besides you pay $5,- a month and my opinon is that you can do so much more things you can do in runescape that require just a little def. If you really want to be a PK why did you become a member? IMO it isn't worth the money as you can PK very well in F2P

Roberthree
So the funny thing in my post was? Think After reading the article on the Tip It homepage about "Honor" I was laughing my buttocks off as well. On Topic- Get at least 40 for Dragon Hide and rune. After that its your choice. Keep in mind that some armors give attack bonuses, but most of them need 40+ defence. See how that turns out, and after you get your Attack and strength up, get a barrows set (Dharok or Guthans are the best imo).
Oblizio
Well I think I'll continue training Mage Range Strenght and Attack then I'll see what I'll do..I don't want to make any decision i would regret someday :S
l0rdbarney
well even after gettin about 40 def, ud be really far off from even attempting barrows and such, id sugget jsut working on ur pure until ur like 70 or 80 in ur atk/str stats, then consider lvling ur def def is somewhat underrated cuz if u think about it, the higher the def, the less monsters hit u, and the much longer u can train, hitting a lot for a short period of time is jsut as good as hitting low for a longer period of time pure:demon_x_king
