Icingdeath
Well, currently I have an Nvidia GeForce 6600 256MB graphics card and 1 gig of 667 Mhz RAM. I'm wondering if you all could give me some of your opinions on your favorite brands of RAM and graphics cards? I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

blade995
For ram any major name brand would be good. Such as: OCZ, Corsair, G.skill, Patriot, A-data and a few more. Graphics cards for me to suggest I would need your buget that you are willing to spend on these upgrades. I also need what type of graphics slot you have (AGP or pci-e). JoeDaStudd
First, did you buy if from somewhere like dell or is it custom build? As for upgrading the ram I would aim to get the same make and frequency ram as you currently have as it will allow you to put them into dual channel (I small performance boost) and the chances of the ram not being compatible with your system is very slim if its the same as your current ram. As for the Graphics card, the best make in my eyes is eVGA due to there unlimited warranty and trade up project. Depending on where you have a PCI-Express or AGP slot the best card you can get is either a 8800GTX or a 1950Pro. Although they are the top of the crop and will cost you a fair bit. Personally I would suggest a 7600GT (I'm 99% sure you can get one of these for both slot types). But in the end it all boils down to your slot type and your budget. Heres a link to a very good guide to the best cards of both slot types and for different price ranges.
