May 8, 200719 yr ZOMG I am a total dendrophile (as in I like trees alot, not you know...) perfect topic for me! Awesome! I have a willow bonsai tree, I'm not sure that the care instructions would be the same. Just buy a sapling, not a seed, and the people at the nursry will help you out. (I'd expect so) I thought willows made bad bonsais. On topic: Willows need LOTS of water. They're very great trees in my opinion, especially golden willows and weeping willows. What species do you plan on getting? Anyways if I had to pick a species to plant in a garden (if the climate is suitable), it would be a wellingtonia (AKA sequoiadendron giganteum or giant sequoia). Now THAT is more show-off type material than a weeping willow! "I have a sequoia in my yard!" Probably expensive though.
