So I decided to finally succumb to the temptation caused by Nadril constantly mentioning World Machine, and ended up trying it out.

I know the texture map needs a bit of work... If anyone has any tips for improving that, it'd be great.

hmm... surface map aside, i realy like the terrain you have in it. The water reflectivity may seem to be a bit too high though, but it still has something (not sure what) that i like about it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For one, i like that it looks like a real landscape. It doesn't look like a half wagon render that you chose the 1st thing you saw and rendered it :) It also has depth, something very important.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The rays in it look nice too, cool to see you have a good grasp on them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The surface map, mostly can be made better up close, far away it looks fine, but closer it needs work, more shades of darker greens could do the trick.

EDIT: out of curiousity, can you send me the Terrain and world file? I'd like to maybe work some surface map magic on it, see what it looks like with it, and render it as a bigger render. It could be a colab between us two :D

its hard to judge things 640X400 or what ever it is when we are used to 300X150. Try making it a lill bit smaller first
