Kuresk
Tipit needs to change the growing time for fruit trees from 14.6 to random times of 14.6 to 24+ hours. I followed tipit's original growing times and they worked but now... I believe that Jagex has rewritten the game code to now include these extended growing times in farming as to slow down your advance in this skill. Of course this is one of those hidden updates that would cause a rebellion form the rural peasants whom depend on this growing time formula. I have a work schedule so only do farming every 24 hrs almost to the minutes. I have been doing this for over 8 months and i never had a delay in harvesting until the last couple of months I say grab your pitchforks and torches and lets storm the Jagex castle with complaints to their suggestion forums! p.s. other items in the game (monsters, etc.) spawn exactly the same time so you can time it. I wondered why Jagex never posted in manual these growing times -- I mean they program everything in the game to do exactly want they want them to. Capone_Sabre
Yes I do the same thing. I plant my 4 fruit trees in the same hour of the day, every day. At least I try to. Lately I've noticed this change too. I've been doing this farming routine since a week after farming was released. Initially there were times when my four fruit trees did not grow within the 24 hours. However this happened only occasionally and until recently it had not happened for more than 18 months. I put this down to the trees getting diseased and thus getting delayed growth while the farmer cured them. As when it was first happening I was only a lowish level in farming. However I am level 90 now and in the last month or so it has started happening again. It's especially bad at weekends. Recently 3 out of 4 pineapple trees failed to grow within 24 hours of planting, and 2 failed to grow within 30 hours. :-k I believe before the last month or so trees grew at a set rate of 14.6 hours, unless they were diseased in which case their growth was stunted temporarily and the time period extended. However this seems to have gone haywire in the last month and now they seem to be taking random times. I sincerely hope Jagex put this right soon, it's very annoying! Capone_Sabre
Surely other people have experienced this? :? It is still as bad as ever for me. It just took 43 hours for a calquat tree to grow and it didn't even get diseased. Capone Sabre since April 2001.99 Attack, Defence, Strength and Hitpoints Achieved January 2005. doodlebug86
Tree times have changed for me. It also seems to me that the fruit trees are the only ones affected. Maples and willows all seem to grow in less than 1 day. Yesterday I planted several apple trees and 20 hours later they still have not grown. I payed the farmer but did not use supercompost. 1. Does supercompost help the growing times? I have read differing accounts on this. 2. Did Jagex nerf the fruit tree growing times. My last calquat took about 30 hours to grow. 2(a) Planted a calquat at 3:45 today. We'll see how long. Well, this one died. (B) Planted a calquat at 10:45am on Mon, Ill watch it with nature ammy

hyjack01
This huge variation in growingtimes started august/september last year. A little later the killing rate of herbs had been increased too. (2 weeks after that the 'my arm patch' was introduced) Being not so happy with this I've send somewhere october/ november a querie to Jagex asking what they had done. They replied it had been changed indeed for bringing more balance into the game. (always a nice excuse.. :? ) Personally, I have experienced growingtimes of fruittrees up to 36 hours... We've had some discussions on guide subforums about adjusting the times in the guides. Mod Pokemama decided this will only be done if players gather enough 'formal' data concerning growingtimes of different trees/patches.. So feel free to start... ('Despite my farminglvl, I never had the urge to write down all my farming-data....)
Capone_Sabre
That's very interesting hyjack01. I know we're not allowed to post screenshots of Jagex's responses but if you have one can you please send it to me via pm? Platinum_Myr
They probably changed it. I know the herbs were changed with My Arm's patch because otherwise herb farming would be even easier.
