My Computer is getting slow...

Featured Replies

Well, I try to keep my computer with about one or two progams downloaded and barly 100MB saved on the hard drive, but I kinda went over borad so I though I'd clean it up, I deleted all the files (Mostly pictures and songs that I didn't need) and unstalled all the programs I installed. (Was only like 2-3) Then I deleted my cookies, cleared my history and deleted my internet files (Under internet options). Once I did all that I ran a disk defrag twice on my C drive (Because it never seems to get all files in order the first time). After that everything looks alright, I desided to unplug my modem (which do once a week) for the night and keep my computer off, pulged in modem waited for light to come on and started computer up, now its takening for ever to load some stuff, that it didn't before.

Tell me what I did wrong, I mean I could just resotre the computer but I was hoping to avoid it. Anyway to fix this, I don't this its my modem cause this has never happend before.

Oh another thing (well two ::' ) you think the google web accel would help me? I also remembering starting up the computer for the first time putting the modem in and seening little tabs at the top of the page were I could have multi pages on one brower (IE) kinda like fire fox has, about 2-3 days after they dissapeared I am baffled by it. :-k

Is it your entire PC or just the internet? "Slow" is kind of open ended, what exactly is being slow.

Scan for adware and other malicious programs.

That sticky got some ad/spyware removal tools. Of course your problem could be something else, but that's what I'd do first knowing how easy it is to get that crap to your comp.

I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.

If its the internet going slow its probably because previously you had everything cached, now you have to redownload it all.
