trevor92223 Posted May 18, 2007 Share Posted May 18, 2007 Recently, my computer has been seriously pissing me off... :evil: i cant seem to find the problem... i would love to have a little help from an "expert" :mrgreen: . heres the problem... my computer randomly restarts about 20+ times per day as long as i'm on it. no message or anything just restarts. my restart switch is fine not jammed or anything and i cant do anything on my computer without being worried of it restarting and losing watever including playing RS like barowing... even some training not even makin natz through abys i NEED someone to give some suggestions i have virus scanned my computer recently with "AVAST! Anti-Virus" and had some that i moved to the chest but still, i am having serious problems please! help me with this Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Cruiser Posted May 18, 2007 Share Posted May 18, 2007 Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced Tab > Under "Startup and Recovery" click settings > Make sure "Automatically Restart" is NOT checked. The next time the machine restarts (hopefully with a blue screen), write down all the error codes it gives you and post them here. You may also want to run scans with Adaware, Spybot and another online virus scanner (assuming you have broadband) such as Trendmicro's Housecall. trevor92223 Posted May 18, 2007 Author Share Posted May 18, 2007 great, thanks i just did it now and ill write the error code down if i get the blue screen i happened to actually get it 10 minutes ago or so but just want to let u kno i dont always get that blue screen on startup mostly just restarts the computer no warnings or anything after sometimes i get a "your computer has just recovered from a seriou s error" message but i click "dont send" maybe i should send it to microsoft next time? well thanks hope this helps =) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
adi Posted May 19, 2007 Share Posted May 19, 2007 Well, what i would reccomend is restarting your system in safe mode which can be done by pressing F8 i think from the boot menu (the black startup screen) and from here run a virus scan.
