exdeath
My Inventory_____ My Equipment_____ I've done about 20 or 30 barrows runs so far, so I'm still trying new things. Recently, I've switched out my guthix book for a rune defender. I don't think it will have any serious implications on my magic damage, but I do think it will make it easier for me in the tunnels & killing karil with melee (which I something I just started doing). So far I've pretty much went Dharok -> Karil -> Ahrim (if no/low prayer) -> 2 prayer doses -> Verac -> 1 dose -> Guthan -> 1 dose -> Toraq. I'm managing 4 dose per run, and sometimes I only have to use 3. The only time I need more is when I have to fight Karil in the tunnels. Other than having an overkill of prayer potions and a really weird magic outfit, is there any improvements I can make? :) Offering 91 and 93 herblore assists. PM me in game. Timmis400
Magic Attack bonus has no effect on the Magic Dart, so you can wear your full rune and use mage dart to conserve food and prayer. I have done a few runs in my day, but I think more experienced barrowers can add advice on and over mine. ~HOORAY FOR BEING MUTED!~
exdeath
Well it has a little affect on the accuracy, but overall I definitely think the rune defender a good switch. I don't think the prayer bonus from the book helps much either with the drain rate. :/ Offering 91 and 93 herblore assists. PM me in game.
kdb148
Magic Attack bonus has no effect on the Magic Dart This is absolutely not true. You can use magic dart successfully on the melee brothers in metal armor because they have a really low magic defense. I would say, scrap the magic gear, and just bring melee and range. Use slayer dart for all 4 melee brothers, while wearing your rune armor. Only pray vs. Dharok, eat against the rest. Range Ahrim with your dhide armor. Pray against Karil, mage him naked, save for your glory - I usually have to use a dose of prayer pot here. Your magic is a tad low, so maybe bring some simple magic gear like zammy robes, although you might be better off with with more food. You could alternately bring a whip for killing Karil, if you don't think your magic is up to the task. I personally go to Dharok first, and pray on him. Then I kill Karil, praying on him. Whatever prayer I have left, I use on Guthan. Then I go after the other 3, eating as necessary. If I can't use a safe spot for whatever reason and I have Dharok or Karil in the tunnels, I will need another dose of potion, possibly 2. This way, I only need 2 prayer pots, and I would just bring one, but sometimes I have enough left over for 2 runs before needing to bank and visit an altar. exdeath
Karil's coif yay :D I might try running without the mage armor for more food and see what happens. I've been meleeing Karil since it takes bascially the same time as me maging him, and less maging = more runes for more runs although I've been getting tons of deaths and minds. Either way it's more fun than maging. How exactly does prayer and verac work. Does it cut his damage in half like players in the Wilderness, or does his hit through anything only happen once in awhile like guthan's drain? I'm down to 2 prayer pots in my inv a run, and I'm still only using 3 doses. I guess 7.5k for a safe run isn't too bad considering I make a minimum of 30k a run. :) Offering 91 and 93 herblore assists. PM me in game. chenw
How exactly does prayer and verac work. Does it cut his damage in half like players in the Wilderness, or does his hit through anything only happen once in awhile like guthan's drain? It works like Guthan's drain, normally pvp (wilderness or not) will cut the damage by 1/2 if you have melee prayer on, but if verac's set effect kicks in, it will negate the ENTIRE effects of the prayer (but it does not negate steel skin, as it is not armor nor protection prayer), but this does not stop you hitting a low number. NPC verac works differently, his max hit before prayer is 23, max after is 15 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. exdeath
Hmm... Well If I kill Torag or Verac without prayer I cut my prayer pot use down to only 2 doses a run. :) I'm guessing Torag would be the safe of the two? edit: and ty for the help :D Offering 91 and 93 herblore assists. Mischlings
Hmm... Well If I kill Torag or Verac without prayer I cut my prayer pot use down to only 2 doses a run. :) I'm guessing Torag would be the safe of the two? edit: and ty for the help :D Definitely Torag is safer; I'd even try Guthan without prayer, though he can be nasty. I usually have better than rune, though, so he may hit more often on you. It may just be my luck, but I can never take on Ahrim successfully without prayer. Even with 77 magic, 76 defence, and full Karils, he seems to hit me all the time. If you're using a lot of food per run, it might be that. I always save some prayer for killing him. It's something you may want to consider. The idea is this: prayer potions are more expensive than food, but if you spend too much time eating, pray instead. At least, that's what I do. Has worked for me pretty well. If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.
