two decent methods i know cost free. Alch yew longs but make your own nats, you get a small profit but takes longer. Also I've gone to crowded f2p world before varrock east smith and bought steel plates until they were 900 gp. You can make a profit as long as u don't buy above 900 gp. Takes a while to do though and only tried once.

Uh yea, buy the bowstring. I buy the logs and string, and still get 288 profit each time.
