nerdattack16
So, I was thinking that I'll get a red salamander for Barrows and assorted killing when I get membership. My question is: If I select the mage style attack on a salamander, will it attack like a mage? (Otherwise, it'll be kind of lame for Barrows ) Or should I stick with normal mage attacks? And anyone know the max hit for a red salamander? 60 Magic, 60 Range, 68 Attack, 68 Strength. Sig credit goes to ThruItAll. :D
Dexek
It attacks in the mage style, but all the attacks are from a melee standpoint, and simply just fire different amounts of flame. I don't suggest using salamanders for barrows. They are annoying to get fuel for, and not very effective. Try training to 55 slayer instead and use Slayer Dart. It is very effective, and most of the runes are payed for as rewards from the chest in the end. Have fun, and take my advice into consideration. PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape
nerdattack16
Really? Bah, it sounded fun to do. Well, I'd rather do more effective Barrows runs anyways. I was planning on getting Slayer dart eventually, actually. More cost-effective than Fire Bolt with Chaos Gauntlets :) Unless someone wants to differ on that answer, I think I'm done here. Oh, and if this matters at all, I'm totally not a members/Barrows noob. I've done at least 20 runs (Verac's flail FTW) and I've had 2 months of membership. Monkey Madness FTW. Freesia
The red sally mage attack hits almost the same as slayer dart, hence is cheaper. It's range attack hits as hard as rune arrow but is very inaccurate. In a more detailed explanation of sally range, you can actually do some minor safespotting in tunnels: Legend: x - You b - Barrows Brother o - shootable through obstacle | | - Wall f - normal square tile floor You can safespot like this: |fx| |bo| In such situation, the brother looks at you by facing NE and you can safely fire him while standing there, any further you can't shoot him like this like in this position: x o b Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
