Guide Too Becoming A Pure

The Pure Concept

Being pure is about dealing as much damage as possible relative to your Combat Level. The one thing that all pures have in common is Defense lvl of 1. Defense does not have any advantages in PKing and the same goes for Prayer with one possible exception which we will get to later. There are many PKers who equip Rune Armor and chant mighty prayers but they don't even get half the kills of a true pure. Walking the path of Pures is all about specializing in attack skills and keeping Combat level relatively low.

Where To PK

The Wilderness level decides how big Combat level difference there can be between you and those you fight. In Level 1 Wilderness you can fight players that are 1 Combat level above or under you. In higher level Wilderness the possible combat level difference will increase accordingly but these areas should be avoided unless you are very high level with all skills properly trained. The most frequented places are lvl 1 Varrock, lvl 1 Edgeville or PK Castle & Dragons at lvl 14 just north of Edgeville. Most players are afraid of losing their items so they want an easy way out and that is why they hang around at such locations. Still these places are the best for PKing seeing as there are so many players around. So it all boils down to fighting players of similar Combat level and this is child's play when you are pure.

General Strategy

PKing is a risky business and you must always be prepared to lose the items you carry. Don't draw first blood and get a Skull above your head unless you are prepared to lose all your items. You will keep your 3 most expensive items - based on general store value - if you don't have the symbol when you die. Your equipment costs should still be kept at a minimum due to all the other expenses in PKing such as potions, runes, arrows and food. Out-eating the opponent is the most basic strategy in the game and if you stumble upon someone loaded with food you should simply avoid him. Remember to always go for the fast kills if you are in it for the money. Nevertheless, you will need food to make it out there and it is sharks that give most bang for the bucks if you are a member, otherwise you should go for lobsters.

Melee For F2P And P2P

1.) Starting out wield your bronze sword and wooden shield then head northeastt to the chicken pen and kill chickens until 20 attack and 20 strength. Make sure to grab the feathers they drop and sell for 5gp ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 10gp ea, or alternatively use them to fish. Now go to the sword shop in southern Varrock and buy a mithril sword or long sword. Go back to Lumbridge and kill cows until 30 attack and 30 strength. If you want you can pick up the meat and cook it or pick up the cowhides and sell for 100ea. Make sure NOT to burry the bones. Now you may want to buy an adamant sword or long sword, but this in not necessary. Travel west of Varrock, to the Barbarian village and train on barbarians until 40 attack and 40 strength. At this time buy a rune scimitar and continue training strength until lvl 50.

2.) At this time P2P should turn to rock crabs for training up to 60 attack and strength to 99. Also for members, after 60 attack do not train attack anymore from here on out. Remain training strength only.

3.) Back to F2P. After 40 attack and 50 strength on barbarians, go to the ice cave south of Port Sarim, on Thurgo̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s peninsula. Train strength on ice giants and ice warriors from here on out. Remember not to train attack after 40 for F2P.

Range For F2P And P2P

1.)Start out with just a short bow and bronze arrows, attack chickens until 20 range. Make sure to grab the feathers they drop and sell for 5gp ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 10gp ea, or alternatively use them to fish. Now buy a willow short bow and iron arrows. Then train on barbarians in the barbarian village (west of Varrock) until 35 range. Now buy a maple short bow, green dragon hide legs, and vamps and train on hill giants in the Edgeville dungeon until 50 range. Pick up the big bones and sell at Varrock west bank for up to 400gp ea. Do not burry ANY bones you come across.

2.) For P2P should now train on moss giants. Moss giants give fair exp and drops. At lvl 50 range, buy blue dragon hide legs and vamps, mage short bow, and steel arrows. Train on moss giants until lvl 70 range. Leave all seeds on the ground except ranarr. Pick up the big bones and bank them at the Fishing guild or Seers Village. Ranarrs can be sold for up to 20k ea and big bones for up to 400ea. At 70 range you should buy Karil̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s X-Bow and black dragon hide legs and vamps. Now train on fire giants until 99 range. Pick up the big bones and sell at Varrock west bank for up to 400gp ea. Do not burry ANY bones you come across. Also sell any armor you gather from their drops, as pures have 1 defense you won̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t need the mithril, rune or dragon armor drops.

3.) Back to F2P. After 50 range, go to the ice cave south of Port Sarim, on Thurgo̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s peninsula. Train range on ice giants and ice warriors from here on out until 99 range. If you wish, gather and sell the big bones they drop for up to 400ea. Do not burry ANY bones you come across.

Mage For F2P And P2P

1.) Start out casting wind blast on chickens until lvl 3 mage. Now buy an earth staff, lots of water and body runes. Once you have your runes and staff, go to Varrock Palace and cast confuse on the Monk of Zamorak until lvl 11 mage. Now cast weaken until lvl 19 mage. Then cast curse on the Monk of Zamorak until lvl 59 mage.

2.) For P2P, starting at lvl 45 mage you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll have two options.

Option 1: Continue casting curse on the Monk of Zamorak.

Option 2: Buy laws and an air staff; teleport to Camelot over and over again.

The first option in much cheaper but will take quite a bite longer.

The second option in much quicker but is also very costly. If your going with option 2, go to world 66, Draynor bank and buy laws 200 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 300ea.

Using predominantly no hitpoint spells to train a pure mage, leaves you with an extremely fragile hitpoint level - while the attack power of mage 59 and 10 HP is impressive, a level 31 with a potential max hit of 16, unless an armoured oppenent is taken down before they can close in, the result will be painful.

Also, for mage versus melee, the mage must take the initiative, preferably from a position which will prevent autoretaliation being effective.

The disadavantage of making the first move, you skull (unless this is a quick return to an opponent who has already attacked you). The advantage, is in having the lead hit (assuming identical weapon speeds), or maybe more than one hit if maging or ranging against melee. Surprise is also a factor, the opponent may be looking in a different direction, and not be aware of your equpment and level.

I can't name this person but he is a pure and he has 80 defence. Not all pures have to have 1 defence.

Hate to be the one to break it to you but he is actually a Pker THE original pures had about 1 attack, 1 defence, 1 prayer, 1 mage simply because back then, Rune items didn't require defence levels, or, correct me if i'm wrong, attack levels WAY back then.

The word pure has been thrown around alot, I even used it to describe my Rune PURE guide when its not really a pure.

The word is Pker <3:
